Accidentally I came across Shelters Insurance Company where I met Ed Faber. I inquired about a quotation, and there he was like a thorough professional, explained me the products. I was convinced as the insurance product which he offered was best in my findings. Not only that, he also took all the pain in visiting me personally to make sure all the required formalities are done. I was at peace.... After some time I was again in need of different insurance product because this time I was buying new home.....I called Ed .....There he was, like a sincere advisor, explaining me all about home insurance. By that time he had started his own company "Insurance Gurus". To my surprise he never asked me to change my policy, but the kind of person and knowledgeable professional he is I followed him there. He not only educated me on the home insurance but also was present when I was signing my deed with the bank to advise me DOES & DON'T. Last winter there was some serious wind storm and I lost some of my roof shingles. The complete roof was damaged. Ed took complete care of me & my family by not only getting me insurance help but by also by calling on the roof repairing company and getting me the required assistance. Buyer beware! 15…read moreyears ago we signed up with Transamerica life Insurance Company for a 15 year policy. Everything went smoothly and the policy was pretty inexpensive per month. Two months ago, in April, the Company sent a policy increase letter to my old address, Thankfully on May 12 I received it at my current address. I called immediately because the new policy was jumping up from $60-$422. We weren't going to pay that much a month as the economy is so poor and my husband and myself are preparing for retirement. I spoke with the associate and he explained that the policy was up and it was about to increase. I told him to please cancel the policy. He ,then, provided me with an email where I could send the surrender letter. I sent all the surrender pages signed back to that specific email within an hour from the time we spoke. About three weeks later, I receive a letter requesting for me to please pay $1256.46. I called again and to find out why the payments were not stopped and the cancellation did not go through? The associate then told me that they did not receive my surrender page that I had emailed to them. Thankfully, I had received an automatic response saying that they had received the information. She, then, proceeded to give me a completely different email address to send the surrender page to them. Go figure! Thank God I had those payments stopped with my bank or right now I would potentially be out of $500 or more. This is bad business!

However, GreatAmerica failed to notify me when my lease term ended, so I continued paying each month for outdated equipment until I realized that I could actually end the lease. When I inquired why GreatAmerica hadn't notifed me at the end of my lease term, they responded that it was my responsibility to notify them. Of course! Yet another deceptive tactic to continue the lease in perpetuity while I pay an inflated rate for outdated equipment. Business owners should beware before doing business with this company.

Whenever I call and ask to speak with the agent, I get transferred to someone else in the office with the same " how can I help you". I then have to repeat, I would like to speak with his agent. Why can't they just transfer me to the agent? 2nd issue, this agent has been taking my fathers money for many years. But now I rarely get a timely call back when I leave a message. There are so many options when it comes to insurance and financial services, you would think they would be more professional and timely with their customers/potential customers.
