Great race track way out in the middle of no where in Indiana. I had no problems during my weekend…read morevisit for the first time in the state of Indiana at this Race Track. On Scene: Bobby Pierce won the Lucas Oil Series race here on Sunday, September 23rd, 2018. I took over 50 pictures while at this race track as you can see for this listing. I review race tracks based on the following; concession stands, view of track, facilities, parking, scoreboard, and smoking. Additionally, as an added bonus, if they have an overhead roof is a plus. A feature I haven't thought of as being important at a race track. But, it came in handy here since it was a rainy weekend. More on this later. Concession Stands: Every time I visited the concession stand, I noticed no lines or only 1 or 2 people in line. I think this is because they are fast and they have more choices to choose from. Additionally, they have more people working the concession stands. Furthermore, there were some other vendors selling food and drinks behind the concession stands. Over head roof: This race track has something other race tracks that I have been to -don't have. They have an overhead roof. I liked this, as you don't have to worry about getting sunburnt. More importantly, I didn't worry about getting rained on. Facilities: They have bathroom facilities with running water. So, you can wash your hands. Track View: I had a great seat as I noticed you could see the whole race track from just about any seat in the grandstands. It's important to see all race cars race around the oval dirt track as a race fan. Parking: I had no problems in parking. The attendant said I could park anywhere. Also, I had no problems leaving the race after the race was over. Scoreboard: This race track has a scoreboard to keep track of the top 5 drivers. I like a race track that has this feature so you can tell who the leader is at all times. Smoking: There was no problem of anyone around me smoking. Although, smoking is allowed, there wasn't too many race car fans smoking around me. Thus, I enjoyed the race without worrying about second hand smoke blowing in my direction. My Experience: I got to see Scott Bloomquist sign autographs for race car fans at his souvenir trailer. My favorite late model race car driver almost won the race here today. This Jonathan Davenport. Jonathan led most of the laps during the second half of the race. But, Bobby Pierce passed Jonathan Davenport on the last lap with about 30 feet or so to go to the finish line. What a race. It was about the best race I have seen.

To start off I will warn the faculty is cash only. Pricing it pretty reasonable for entry and…read moreconcessions. The bathrooms were pretty decent and fairly clean, was definitely not expecting it. The covered bleacher area has some questionable sections that are in need of some repair but over all they have adequate seating that is cover and newer bleachers that are uncovered. The racing action on track was great and almost none stop with the exception of track prep before the features. Compared to other tracks in southern Indiana I'd say this place was my favorite facility and has the best racing action.

Honestly, it was so bad that I would seriously consider purchasing a Half Mask Respirator prior to visit this facility again. Also, bring a hat, sunglasses, trash bag, earplugs, and earmuffs. My wife wears earplugs that are a 36 decibels reduction and a set of shooting earmuffs. I would not just go with ear plugs, especially if you are going to be seating of trackside. Do your ears a favor and get a set of earmuffs and wear earplugs. By the way, the trash bag is to place any item that you're not wearing because people tend to knock over their beer when the stand up to cheer their favorite driver(s). In the end, your newly purchased NASCAR apparel can quickly become soaked in beer, soda, etc.

Bring your lawn chair or blanket, a small cooler (no alcohol can be brought in but avail inside venue), many around us had brought kites to fly, lawn games, etc. A DJ played popular tunes before an artist from Seattle sang 4-5 songs that all sounded like the same song. Bonfire spots provided if arrive early enough to get seated near one. Packaged logs were given out too. Several food and drink vendors/food truck style. Releasing the paper lanterns and watching the breathtaking beauty of thousands of lanterns floating above lighting the sky was a memorable thing for sure. Many had campers and tents in a designated area and a 2 day option was available. VIP package was available too but not sure what that included.

Sadly, the Belle experienced a mechanical issue in 2025 and couldn't participate. Several establishments around the river host steamboat parties. Hubby and I love to take a river cruise on one of the riverboats. But the tickets for Belle of Louisville's steamboat race are way above what we are willing to spend(and they go fast!). But when I heard that we can get on the Belle of Cincinnati for far less, we jumped at the opportunity. I finally found an excuse to wear my new derby hat creation; and I get to be on my old home city's boat! The experience was everything I had hoped for and more. Everyone was in a good mood. There was music and "dancing" on the top deck. The pours are generous. I saw quite a few characters dressed in their derby funnest. There is also a buffet dinner if you like catered food. The weather that day could not be any better. We actually did not understand how the Belle of Cincinnati lost the race. But oh, well, we loved the race anyways! I already have hat ideas for hubby for our race next year!
