I'm still not sure exactly what happened but essentially I had a spring or coil pop in my garage door. It would go up about a foot and then stop. I searched on Yelp for a company with good reviews and CSS popped up. They were swift in their response and came out the same day. What I most appreciate is their willingness to explain what was going on bc I absolutely have to understand WHY and WHAT is going on...just the way I'm wired. They were able to not only educate me on the broken coil, but showed me the work they performed. Service was relatively quick. I came out my pocket a couple of hundred for a new spring/coil...and their labor, etc. My house is 10 years old and I know my garage door isn't super high end and this is the first work I had to have done on it so I found the price to be reasonable. I would highly recommend CSS. I'm glad I went with them based off of other reviewers. read more

Covenant Garage Doors Worst ever customer service I've seen. Person doing the free estimate pushed a new insulated door, tracks and spring right out of the gate for $1400 and an uninsulated door from $100!less declaring that replacement panels were not available. He also suggested that the Home Panel would never match and that they were inferior in quality. Definitely should attend a course in customer service. Oh by the way if this person would have been less sanctimonious about his product I may have paid the $1400 for that new insulated door!!! Enter Paul from CSS Garage Doors! Turns out they do indeed make replacement panels for my door. A matter a fact there were several options available to me. Having safe, well working garages doors is kind of important, am I right? No one wants the door to get stuck, to hit your car or a person, to fall off... and yet, do we really possess the expertise, tools, or even awareness to maintain these things? And so when you have someone come out to check, inspect, repair, do you know enough to know if the service person is honest? So, I had a guy come out because a spring literally fell off on of my doors. He gave me a repair estimate so high that it was in spitting distance of replacing both doors. And he told me I should not be using the doors. Well I just had my inner red flags come up. Second opinion time. I called CSS because to be honest they're nearby. We set up a time and Darryl called me to get the arrival time zeroed in. We had a discussion about the doors, and I said I'd prefer to not replace the wooden doors, but if I had to I would. He spent some time inspecting and then we talked again. He was able to repair the doors, and make them work perfectly. He was done in an hour and a half, for ¼ the cost the other guy gave me, minus the scare tactics. I'm here to tell you ethics are alive and well. Loved these guys! I called last minute for an appointment for a garage door tune up (about $130) and they were able to get someone out within 2 hours. Daryl was my technician, nice, professional, and quick. It took about 30-45 minutes and my door works flawlessly now, he also gave me tips to maintain it in the future. My garage door had starting freezing up last year and wouldn't open more than a foot at a time. It got a bit better in the summer but stopped working again recently - now that it's freezing outside, I really needed to park inside again! Daryl fixed it quickly and he even set the tension to better than when it was installed new (5 year old house, Genie door). They didn't try to tell me I needed an entire new unit - didn't upsell me things I didn't need - just a quick, honest, friendly and reasonable fix. read more

Back in February the spring on my garage door broke. I called the company where the door came from since it was a custom door. They came and replaced the spring. No problem with that but my door started acting weird and at times wouldn't close. The light blinked like the sensors were out of alignment or blocked. I did some research and found a way to get it to close. I called the company and they came out again. Couldn't find anything wrong. Said it was probably the sun. So I got some sun shields. Same thing again. They came out again. Adjusted the sensors. Same problem. So, I did some research and found CSS. Talked to Paul and learned all the many things it could be. Made an appointment. Technician came out and assessed the situation. Couldn't pinpoint exact cause but thought it might be some of the wire connections that didn't look good. He replaced those and serviced the door.
