My only connection with CSR Appliance is when I called them before reading the other reviews. I'll never do that again! DeWayne came out and replaced the heater unit on my dryer. He said it was heating now and left. After a week of not getting any callbacks, I had to get another repairman to come and fix the timer, not the heater. That had been the problem all along. After having my bank investigate this, they sent me the reply from them. They lied in their letter that they had come 3 times.(He was only here once) They said I refused to get the vent cleaned out. That was never the issue! I just wanted my dryer to work and dry my clothes. Plus they fabricated the 2 other invoices that they added to the response to my bank. Go with someone else. I wish I never canceled my appt with the company I had scheduled (Lonestar Appliance). I requested a quote online and someone called me back telling me that they would be competitive with the pricing. Spencer came to my apt and told me it would cost $325 to fix the pulley for my Samsung washer. He was here for 15 minutes..... I felt like I was getting ripped off in which I am. I called Samsung and they told me the part cost $39.00. I called the office line and the lady told me labor was $125/hr (plus parts) regardless if the technician is there for less than an hr. I was completely overcharged and someone hasn't returned my phone call. I want an explanation or breakdown of the fees but no one has provided me with an answer. read more

Ok ... fair is fair ... I had initially given a poor review because my dryer took forever to repair but I've since learned that the company was sending many of its technicians to school (a good thing!) but it had caused some timing and communication problems (thus, my forever-to-be-fixed dryer situation). These guys are awesome. We first used them a few years ago to work on our washer. They came out diagnosed the problem. Orderd the part and came back a few days later to do the repair. Very polite and professional. Since then we have used them on two other appliances, and have recommended them to others. Pricing is great, service is great. Do not call this company. They are the absolute worst. It will be more of a headache on your part than anything else. It started with our refrigerator. The fridge part went out, while the freezer part was still working. We called CSR to come out. It was over Memorial Day weekend, so it took a few days for someone to come out. Totally understandable, as it was a holiday. The first technician came out. He was three hours late with no apology. Again, at this point we understood. It was an inconvenience because I took off work...but...things happen. He said we needed a new part and charged us $500. They came a week later to install the part. This did not fix the fridge. I called the office again to get someone to look at it. They did not return a call for four days. And I called them multiple times in those four days. This became the norm. Not once when we called did anybody answer. It ALWAYS went to voice mail. We had an incredibly difficult time with this fridge and had to have the company come by multiple times to look at it. We would call everyday, playing Russian roulett in hopes that they decided to call us back that day. In regards to the fridge itself, my husband and I were completely understanding. Sometimes, things die. We get it. But this company was impossible to work with. The office assistant (Crystal) is not friendly at all. And that is putting it nicely. She has absolutely no customer service skills. It would take several days, sometimes several weeks for her to ever call us back. We were promised that the owner would come out twice...by the third time he finally did. Said our problem was something else entirely than what the other two technicians said it was. Again, he left and it wasn't fixed. Two and half months later we finally ended up buying a new fridge with a promise that the owner was going to call us about a possible reimbursement. We've called three times regarding that and have yet to get a call back. So all in all: save your money and your time. Go with another company. read more

Stay Away! Find someone else! On August 14, 2014, CSR Appliance Repairman "Spencer" came to our home to assess two of our ice machines, both machines giving us problems. He fixed one of the machines by merely adjusting a hose. However, the other machine needed a part. We were charged $160 for the visit. He was supposed to come back with the required part to fix the second ice maker. From that point, we never heard back. After a few weeks of waiting, we attempted to call CSR numerous times, each time getting the same voice mail saying they will return the call. No one EVER answers the phone. They did not return any of the calls until I had to leave a threatening message that I would file a BBB complaint and post negative blogs on the Internet. Finally, their "secretary" (Crystal) called back and she agreed they dropped the ball by never getting back to us after the service visit. She said no part was ever ordered and they didn't even know what part was needed. She said they were not willing to come back out to see what part was required, but if I could pull out the machine myself and determine the part, they would order it. Really? I'm not a repair technician, but I tried to help. After I attempted to do their job by trying to determine which part was needed, she narrowed it down to three possible parts. She said their technician would bring all three parts out to my home, figure out which was the right one, install it and charge me only for the needed part. We scheduled a date for the technician to come out with the three parts. That was the last time I heard from them. They never showed and never would return future calls. It's now October 24, 2014 and I still can't get them to respond after 2 months of calling. I give up. On a side note, during the one and only day I was able to talk to their "secretary" (Crystal), she explained the number I was calling was her cell phone and that the company worked out of the owners home. I realized I was dealing with a very small company, but that's ok with me, as long as they perform. After reading the other BBB complaints (F Rating) and negative Internet blog postings, it's clear many others have experienced the same problems with CSR Appliance Repair. I'll chalk this experience up to spending $160 dollars and a lot of wasted time for a guy to adjust a hose. But, in an effort to protect my fellow consumers, I'm posting this review to let others know to NEVER do business with this guy or his so called "company". Robert and his staff have been excellent. He is honest, straightforward and handles his business with personal attention to his customers. Gabe, the technician, was very knowledgable, professional and polite. My job order wasn't even their issue or installation. The problem was with my Hoshizaki ice machine and my warranty with Pirch who installed it. It took over 10 days for Pirch to get a technician appt. scheduled, but took CSR less than 12 hours (most of which included after-hours timeframe) to get to my house. They were more helpful and had expert advice than the regional dealer office. All in all, if you like when an owner (Robert) that answers the phone and provides service as he would to his own family, then call CSR. I highly recommend CSR. read more

What an honest guy! I called and received same day service and I am so thankful Robert was able to help us. He walked in and immediately knew what was wrong just by the noise our refrigerator was making. He pulled it out and showed my husband the issue. He was very honest and told my husband for the amount of money we would spend repairing the fridge we would probably be better off buying a new one. This was the second time we had to have this repaired in one year and the first service man was not as honest. He could have easily taken our money and been on his way just like the first guy. Unhappy!! I called CSR on 8/20 (Tuesday) to repair a dishwasher. They couldn't come out until 8/21 (Thursday). When they did come out, they informed me that they didn't have the part and they would have to order it. They informed me that they would be out the next day on Friday with the part. On Friday, they informed me that the supplier sent them the wrong part, and that they would be at my house to repair the dishwasher between 10 to 12 on Monday. Monday I called CSR to find out where I was in the repair schedule for the day, and they told me the part had not come in from the supplier. I told them that I was unhappy and they responded that there was nothing they could do because (1) they were at the mercy of the parts supplier and (2) the parts supplier was at the mercy of the manufacturer. Crystal the customer support told me at 11:00am on Monday that the part could still come in. I asked if the part had been shipped overnight for first morning delivery, but she said she didn't know how the supplier had shipped the part. I then stated that I was unhappy and that it was taking to long to get the dishwashet repaired. She never offered me anything. I could not be more displeased with how this turned out. read more

My husband called these people on a whim without reading the reviews first. Boy was that a mistake! They came out twice and were unable to fix the problem, $850 later. Now apparently they have my husband's phone number memorized because they won't even answer the phone, so we had to resort to calling them from a different phone number! Only for them to put us off again, saying that the owner was going to come out to our house. Not surprisingly, we have yet to hear from them. Would love to get our money back, but we know THAT is not happening. But at the very least, we think they should at least come out and fix the problem they were paid to fix. read more

My freezer started defrosting 5/29/18 for no reason. The freezer contained about $500 in steaks and seafood so I needed to get if fixed. I found CSR appliance repair who offered to come out the same day. A so called tech (Spencer Cagle) came out and within less than 30 minutes supposedly diagnosed the problem. He had gotten the freezer running so I was very grateful and he was very friendly so when he told me I needed to order a part I agreed. I didn't understand what part because it sounded like a mumble so I just paid for half of the total charge of $250 and decided it was worth it to save $500 worth of frozen food. He also told me I would have to defrost the whole refrigerator for 24 hours before the installation and would call to let me know after he received the part, so I proceeded to empty the freezer and store a lot in my daughters freezer and the remainder in ice coolers to try to keep it frozen. Spencer said it would be about 2 days and he would call to inform me when to start defrosting. Since I had 2 days and the freezer was now working I put the food from the coolers back in it. It worked fine. When no one called to inform me when they would be out, I called and was told it would probably be Monday 6/4/18 and they would call me to allow the 24 hour defrost. Friday 6/1 I got a call from Spencer saying they were on the way with the part. I told him I never got the call to defrost my box. He said no problem I could defrost it after installation. He arrived and put the part in. He told me then I didn't have to defrost my freezer because it was a little different that he thought at first so it was okay. Since my freezer was still freezing as it should I asked what part he was installing again. Again he said a name which I didn't understand but let if go because I knew I could look at the receipt and see later. I was still very happy because the freezer was still working. So I Thanked him and all was well. After the tech left I unloaded my daughters freezer and coolers into mine and let it go for the night. Saturday morning when went to get something out, the freezer was defrosting and everything inside was either totally defrosted or well on the way. I called all weekend to no avail because all my food was defrosting and had paid to have it fixed. Finally on Monday 6/4 Spencer showed up again. I was mad and told him my box was working fine until he installed what was apparently a thermoster and the box never froze after that. Spencer became very belligerent and told me that I insisted he install the part . I told him he was full of s... that if I knew what part to order I would have done it myself and that he was the technician not me. He then became more belligerent and said he offered not to put in the part but I insisted. That was a total crock of BS First of all if I did insist the part be installed it should not have prevented my freezer which was working from working afterwards. I paid for the service call because I don't know how to diagnose the problem. Logic dictates that if the tech made a correct diagnosis even if the part he replaced wasn't bad, the new part should have still worked but it didn't after he got though. After a few cross words between both of us, he made a move towards me like he was going to attack me. He is over 6ft tall and somewhere in his 30's or 40''. I am 5/7 and a 71 year old Vietnam Veteran so I instantly became in fear of my life and reacted. The guy is obviously a no talent person trying to rip off customers and considered me an easy mark because of my age. People like that have no respect so I am always on the alert. CSR Appliance Repair Dallas, Texas GO SOMEPLACE ELSE FOR YOUR SERVICE NEEDS!!! I made an appointment with CSR to repair my refrigerator ice maker. I provided them with the make and model number and the person on the phone assured me the repair person had parts required to repair any problem. Unfortunately for me, the person on the phone had no clue what tools and parts their service personal had available. A so-called repair person showed up at the scheduled time (He looked like a high school dropout). He was to call before his arrival which he did not do. It took him 3 minutes to diagnose the problem: replace everything plus the water valve. But he had no parts in the compact car he was driving. But he did give me an estimate of $389.39 for parts and labor to replace the entire ice maker and the water valve. 12 minutes in and out, got a $50 service charge secured and off to the next target. What a fabulous business they have. In my opinion, the repair person was not a repair person at all but only a parts changer! Replace everything and hope it works had to be his game plan! I purchased and replaced the defective motor assembly for under $80! The actual broken part would likely sell for less than $2.00, if you could purchase it independent of the motor assembly!!! Same here -- A "kid" showed up to fix cooktop and he eyeballed it for 5 minutes, called someone on the phone and then told me I needed a $400.00-500.00 part which is about half the cost of a new one. My complaint with them is that they say they will call you back and they never do -- you are the one chasing them down. I think the owner ROBERT LEWIS pays young inexperienced people to do the service calls but they don't appear to even be licensed! The service "tech" wouldn't even tell me his name or leave his card --he left the owner's card...what does that tell you? And the owner answers his business phone "hello" as if he is not working and sounds like he doesn't even care if you get service or not. Passes the buck and you get no resolution.... To top if off, when I looked up "Appliance repair" in my neighborhood, instead of a local person, I now know it was a company that contracts out their repairs with local technicians such as the scam artists CSR Appliance Repair. They ask for a credit card number for the service call up front but say it won't be ran until the call is completed. Well yes this is true but you get no service either!! I completely agree with the other review. This place truly is the worst! What a sham! We had an early morning appointment on a Monday to have a repair tech out, but we got bumped to a later appointment time (4pm - 7pm) because a repair van had broken down. Spencer, the repair tech, came for about 15 minutes and decided the starter relay needed replaced. He stated that he would check around for the part and get back to us the next morning with an estimate. Fine. That was the last we heard from Spencer. I had to follow up with his secretary the next afternoon, since I hadn't heard anything back. His secretary told me that he had been really busy and was also having trouble finding the part. I got the same story on Thursday, when I had to call AGAIN to check up on our repair. The funny thing is, I'm not sure why Spencer had such a hard time finding the part. My husband, who found the part on Amazon and Sear's website, had no trouble ordering the part once he took the starter relay cover off to find the product number. Spencer didn't even think to do that. Looks like we'll be fixing the fridge ourselves! When I asked for my $55 service fee back, the secretary told me it was non-refundable. I guess I'm just glad I didn't spend any more money on this sham of a business. As a side note: I never wanted CSR Appliance Repair as my repair company. I actually called and scheduled a repairman from Rockwall Appliance Repair to come and service the fridge, since we live in the Rockwall area. Then, Spencer showed up, and all the paperwork he gave us said CSR Appliance out of Dallas. I called up Rockwall Appliance Repair, and it turns out they "contract" out to CSR. I called CSR Appliance Repair when my washer started leaking. Robert came out and showed me the leaking hose. He told me the cost to repair it, but also told me that I could likely do the job myself. He took the time to walk me through step by step for what needed to be done. He even gave me the name and address of the appliance parts store. My budget was very tight so this was a huge savings for me. He could have easily just given me the quote to do the job and left it at that. I greatly appreciated his time and kindness. read more

Spencer Cagle "Lead Technician" came out to look at my oven, it wasn't heating. After he was at my house less than 5 minutes he said my oven needed a new Board(the cost was a little over $2000 come to find out). he said he would order the part and come back out to install it. After weeks of calling with NO response at all i hired a different company and they fixed the problem same day for less than $100 it was the heating element. I had asked Spencer if it could be the heating element and he said no. read more

These people are the worst ripoff ever. Do not use them. They claim to be certified Wolf Range repairmen. Robert came out to repair our oven and said it needed a new ignitor. He had to come back a few days later with the part. He charged around $350 for the part and the labor. Two months later the ignitor quit working so Robert came out again and replaced it with another new ignitor at no charge for the part but charged for the labor. At that time, he said the broiler ignitor was about to go out, so we let him install a new broiler ignitor, which was $225 for the part and labor. This week, the second oven ignitor he installed has quit working. This time, his partner Spencer came out and said it again needed a new oven ignitor and that the existing one is out of warranty, meaning another $350 or more. So we now have a certified Wolf Brand repairman who has just told me that the parts CSR installed are not Wolf brand parts. Also, the broiler ignitor Robert installed for $225 makes a small explosion every time it is turned on. So today we are getting a new broiler ignitor, a new oven ignitor and another part that had a hole burned completely through it. I do not recommend these people to pour water out of a boot if the directions were written on the heel! read more

Our ice maker went out called this repair company because they said they were "local" to our city, Waxahachie, they are located out of Rowlett. Found out after the fact. They came out replaced something and it still never made ice. Called the next day, and took 3 days for him to say he was coming out. Never called or showed up on a Thursday. Everytime we called always got a machine with recording. Finally reached someone on Monday morning 11:00 am, and she said part was on back order. Really? He hasnt even been here to know what part? I am an insurance agent and this company helped one of our client's with washing machine repairs. Not only did they not fix the problem, the washing machine flooded my client's home the next day and CSR wouldn't cover the damages and said that they are NOT INSURED. We called for a fridge and a dishwasher and were told there was a $55 fee to "hold our spot". I told them I wasn't comfortable with that because nothing had been done besides a phone call. I said I'd be happy to pay when they showed up as this cost was to be taken off if I had them do the actual repair and charged to me if I took my business elsewhere after diagnosis...perfectly acceptable to me. However, I was at work and my wife was at home during the visit and was told it was $55 PER APPLIANCE. To "hold the spot"?? They were already in our house. He looked at the dishwasher, and my wife said the piece he needed (he showed her) was a sort of metal clamp that attached a hose to the motor and that he'd call back with a quote. Three business days (plus a weekend) go by with no contact. I called and spoke to a lady who was polite and said they would call the next day with a quote, which they did. $389 for the washer and $389 for the fridge (which he didn't look at bc he said it needed to be defrosted 24 hrs before he could diagnose problem.) I asked for a written quote with parts and labor broken down...they couldn't provide it. Said they work off of some sort of blue book for repair jobs. Fine with me....I just wanted a written breakdown of what I was about to pay nearly $800 for.....but they said they couldn't send it like that. The probably didn't want to write down $5 for the needed clamp and charge me $389. And how is the fridge $389 when we don't even know what the problem is yet? I've had repairs done plenty of times over the years and this was unequivocally the least professional, worst customer service oriented, and shadiest interaction I've ever had. CSR sent a tech out to repair my stove top. It's a jenn-aire electric stove top with 4 burners. It would light up but not heat up. I checked the breaker and toggled that with no luck. I had the drawer underneath the stove top removed to facilitate the fixing of the stove. The tech came in turned the knobs and then said "these knobs go bad a lot because they are on a parallel circuit." I teach physics and chemistry that's illogical an wrong by the way. He didn't unscrew the metal cap that surrounds all the wires he did not once use a multi-meter (he did not even bring one in to the house.) he just said I had bad switches. He then proceeded to call in to the main office where he got a price for new switches and then proceeded to explain to me that I needed to go ahead and get a new stove all together. Then my father a retired engineer came in to town and with a multi-meter within 30 seconds diagnosed a loose wire which he then fixed and proceeded to check all the other connections as it could have cause a major disaster in my home if left unchecked. My stove works just fine now. I called the company on the 25th of March to let them know about this and they said they would get back to me on Monday the 28th. I haven't heard from them in fact I just called them and was told by the young lady at the front "this is the first I've heard about this." Well not really ma'am as it was you who patched me through to the manager. My advice to anyone else is to call a sears service tech or in my case my dad. read more

I saw what part to replace on the internet and 'Spencer' kept telling me the internet was wrong. The owner Robert even came out and said he agreed with his repair guy. They were totally unprofessional. Never returned calls. Never came when they said they would. Refused to refund my money. I had to file a claim with my credit card company to get my money back. In the end, the internet was right. I fixed my GE Profile myself for 1/4 of what they were charging me and it was done right the first time. These guys are total idiots. I called because my Samsung washer was not draining. I kept the filter clean but it did not matter. CSR came out promptly and diagnosed the problem as the drain pump and filter. They had to order the parts, and came out a few days later. This was last Friday night. They replaced the parts, and that night I did three loads of laundry. I had to drain the water manually with two of those loads. I called immediately as there is only a short window for the warranty. I called again yesterday, and today to get them back out. No one will pick up the phone and no one will return my call. I am beginning to think I paid for the parts that were never really replaced. Why did I not stand right there and watch the entire thing? Why will they not call me back? It says it may take 24 hours, but I began calling last Friday. I think I have been had and ripped off. read more

On Tuesday Feb. 9 2016 I placed a call to CSR appliance repair to have my washing machine repaired. Sal informed me that they would have a tech out that day and that I needed to place a credit card on file to hold the appointment. I was called later that day by Spencer the tech who asked for the model and serial number of my Maytag clothes washer. After giving him both over the phone and explaining the problem he informed me that is was likely the drain pump that was bad and that he needed to order a part that would arrive the next day. At that time, he told me that after getting the part in, he would be by to repair between 11 and 2 on Wednesday. At 1:30 on Wednesday I called the company and spoke to the office manager Megan who then told me that their computers were down and that she did not have Spencer on the schedule with me (even though he was the one who told me he would be there). She then told me that Spencer would not be able to make it out until Friday between 8 and 10am. Once again the tech Spencer did not show and I had to call the company myself to find out what was going on. Megan (the office manager) did not know what the problem was and had the tech call. At 10:15 on Friday I spoke to Spencer and was told that the part that came in on Wednesday was broken (which he never informed me of) and that he was waiting on another part (of which I was never informed of). He also told me that the truck with the new part would not be in for another 30 minutes and didn't know when he would be out to repair my machine. At that time, I asked about a discount for my time and trouble and was told by Spencer that he wouldn't do that and that this was essentially my problem. I then cancelled the appointment at that time. The lack of communication, being lied to about scheduling and then the unprofessional attitude of the service tech Spencer and the office manager Megan has required me to let everyone know to NEVER USE THIS COMPANY. read more

I would not give this company 1 star. I submitted an online request through another company for dryer repair and indicated to have them contact me when they determined what was wrong with the dryer before they performed any repairs. I planned to pay the $50 service fee and then determine if I could afford the repairs or if it would be cheaper to buy a new dryer. The repair was performed and then was asked to sign the invoice for the repair. I was charged $217 without PRIOR authorization!!!!!!!!!!!! When I called to talk to the owner, Robert Lewis, he threatened to take me to JP court if I did not pay for unauthorized charges. He also treated me very poorly on the phone and said he did not have any indication that the repair needed to be discussed with me first.
