I've been a regular for a few years now. Their quality of…read morecare has declined the whole time. They can't seem to keep employees and this reflects poorly on the working conditions. I've gotten horribly sick from the workers being forced to work while sick. This has happened multiple times and I'm sure countless others have experienced this. They are constantly training new employees so we constantly have to deal with problems and pain because it's just a bunch of new, inexperienced people coming and going all the time!! This company obviously treats their workers poorly and doesn't give them what they need to thrive at their job and give their best care!! Profits over people, as always. shame on octapharma. DO BETTER. I will not be donating here again. Enough is enough.

Just like in Washington, the staff is extremely friendly and handles the location with utmost professionalism. Of all the places you can give plasma, Octapharma has the most pleasant atmosphere. They're also the best pat scale around. Unlike most places, if you give consistently the pay stays at a great rate. Based on weight, if I stay above 7 visits every 35 days, I get $60/visit. That extra money comes in handy for so many things. Plus, the uses for the plasma helps so many people. I highly recommend Octapharma.

I get turned down bc they claim my vein is too difficult to stick. It seems like they have me flagged now. I've tried to go elsewhere and I get evaluated and rejected and do there must be a note in the data base. Well it was fine for quite a number of visits so it's an unfair prejudice. I recommended 3 friends and a family member who still go.

CSL Plasma is conveniently located in a safe part of town with plenty of parking around the…read moreshopping center. The staff here is extremely kind and the facility is sterile. Inside the place is cold and open with plenty of machines to "hook up to" however this is where the platitudes stop. First, it's not clear that your first month of giving, the patient is rewarded roughly $100 per visit up to 5 visits (this varies based on your weight). Next you can give only twice a week but isn't clear is that if you get sick or anything that pushes any visits past the month, you'll be rewarded around half the amount per visit. Also, the amount after your first month is roughly 50% of the initial visits. Next the time to give is outrageous. When the patient walks in, there's a machine that asks roughly 30 questions. From there you'll be funneled into a health check line that can take up to an hour, depending on how many nurses are in the 4 stations (typically it's 2 or 3). After taking vitals another line awaits where it can take yet another hour while you wait for a seat at the machines. Mind you there's no chairs so you'll be standing the whole time. My personal experience isn't great with the staff which isn't a slight rather who has the expertise to help me. I'm fit for my age yet my veins are "deep and roll" which means only two of the nurses there can hit them normally. One can imagine the "fun" I have when a vein is missed and has to be re-entered or worse, they dig to find it. Out of my 7 visits I've only been able to give a whole bottle 4 times and here's where the communication wasn't clear. I was told if I wasn't able to give 3x in a row, I'd be up for review. We'll that isn't exactly true as if you cant give a certain amount per month and/or they miss a lot then you'll be under review. Honestly, I could care less now as I'm tired of being helpful. Also there are 3 rows of beds but one isle is never used, thus the long wait time. I'm not sure if there are other facilities but this branch isn't great and I won't be back. They're always behind, the average weight time is over 2.5 hours, the rules and regulations aren't clear and very few are on an expert level with a needle. After I've had over 13 operations and 8 procedures my heart desires to give back and help. However it it's too difficult I'll either stop or find other alternatives.

The plus about this new office is that there are windows to see out (to the parking lot). The previous donor room was an interior room so the only things to really look at were the screens that everyone had to decide to watch the same thing. Looks like each platelet station has their own entertainment. Staffers are still great and friendly, some of them are adjusting to the new office and where all the supplies are kept. The layout of the office is not as spread out, but is a more efficient space- less walking between the history/interview rooms and the donor room. Check in is easy- make an appointment online or on site...further check in questions are done on iPads and you are ready to go. Vitals are taken in the history room and then you go donate. Always nice to know the blood is kept local and you are always thanked for donation. It gets used in the area and helps the community.
