I had Donate over two years and was up to $9996 with 187 Donations and my Machine broke down and they Deferred me until October and never called back! They never give you any Bonuses and the lines are always slow with on Two Staff members to Prescreen you! Waiting is another problem Slow with only two people working the floor. The medical man (white male) that usually do the physicals, sometimes he is in the viral booth. Please watch him. He's a very negative person. He deferred me just because I yawned two times in the booth. Sometimes i may take a deep breath or i may yawn once or twice to stay calm. He to the manager and assistant manager saying I was drunk and high on something. I asked the manager and assistant manager do they smell alcohol or illegal drugs on me and they said no. The assistant manager said out of his own mouth that he has known for me to come to CSL on Assembly Street for several years and never smelled alcohol nor illegal drugs on me. Also he said I never appeared high, drunk, nor gave any problems to anyone whatsoever, and please dont let the negative dude get under my skin. Getting under my skin isnt the problem. The problem is that this man told a lie that can possibly follow me for the rest of my life. I have already been through enough with my personal life where family members lied on me. Unprofessional untruthful and callous. They essentially do what they please. They lied to me over the phone about when I could come in. They were going to defer me because of an attempted donation over 25 years ago at one of their facilities in Oklahoma. Then they looked at my arms found a vein they could use told me to come back the next day after I was properly hydrated. When I did the manager dismissed me without ever speaking to me via another employee saying I couldn't be stuck. I think it's a workplace where a handful of employees have the upper hand and do what they please. My husband and I went together. They didn't let him donate because he has neuropathy. They basically kicked him out and didn't allow him to wait for me. Than I noticed how they just focused on hooking everyone up and took there sweet time to disconnect while they joked and had fun. No respect for people or their time. Many unskilled inexperienced, nonprofessionals working there. Many donors seem unhealthy; not all. For the most part, I felt uncomfortable yet I found a few very awesome. For the most part, it is a sad place. I can't place any photos cause you're not allowed to take any. The place is clean, but the majority of the people are not. I could give examples, but I recommend you see for yourself. The payment was good although I did not feel appreciated for my donations. I tried two locations; basically felt the same. Do not go there!!!! Very, very bad experiences there. A man came into the clinic that smelled like weed so bad that people complained and he was asked to leave. The medical techs should focus on inserting needles in volunteers arm instead of talking across the room, playing basketball and swearing out loud. The medical techs did such a poor job of inserting the needle in my arm that I had complications. The medical tech got frustrated when they tired to move the needle so I could give plasma, they said "I don't know what to do" and just walked away. Because of there lack of focus I was injured. It's an okay place to donate. A lot of reviews talk about other donors when they're there to either help ppl, get money, or both. Mind yours and donate. There are going to be unhoused people there, considering they need money. Can't be classist coming to donate for money. Also, the main population nearby is Black, so if you aren't privy to black donors and staff, don't come around being a dick. read more

The donors run the center. Management only cares about the bottle and will allow most anything to occur in and on the center property. I have seen staff cursed out disrespected and two days later the donor is back with the same attitude. There has been cases of vandalism and even with the cameras catching the person they are still allowed on the property. Management has said they need a proper police report before they will do anything and as long as the person isn't threatening anyone inside the center there hands are tied. This defeats the purpose of even having cameras. They fail to provide a safe and pleasant environment and will not back up the staff. Most of the staff are great but you have a few that need to work on their person to person skills. As far as being a clean place, the one custodian does all he can and for being the only one during the day he does a great job. The rest not so much. I have seen blood on the walls, the machines and arm rests that has been sitting so long it has dried and started to flake. The machines are out dated and break down often. They were supposed to upgrade but who knows when this will happen. The take down and stick procedures are a joke. Often the staff are left asking the donors who's next or who was first. This leaves some donors sitting there longer than necessary. I can't recommend this business. For all the good donating plasma does this center does to many things wrong. read more

I enjoy CSL the staff is always courteous and polite and just a joy to be around now as far as the phlebotomist on the floor some of them have attitudes and some of them don't know how to talk to some people like with a kids but to be fair we all grown folks so we must treat each other fairly and treat each other with respect in order to get respect you got to give respect. Quite possibly one of the worst donation centers I've been to. Waited 40 minutes in a bed to just be hooked up to a machine, while two or three workers would huddle up and be having a social hour instead of helping other donors. Also extremely rude once they finally reach you, like it's an inconvenience to have to do their job, and will leave you sitting if you feel sick. Watched a man pass out and nothing was done until after he had woken himself up. Will be switching centers asap. For a place that is using donations to save lives, they sure do not care about the people donating. read more

Not me but I'm writing this review under someone else's account. I don't agree with the payouts they are giving us. It's not worth going there and donating anymore. I was making $70 + bonus's. Now it's like a measly $30 a visit and they only go up $2 every time you return. I don't know what they were thinking. There's a pandemic going around and people need the extra cash in these times of need. Cutting the payout was not a smart move because you are going to lose donators. Do NOT go to this facility! They do NOT follow sanitary protocols! This was my first time donating. Tiara put the cuff on too tight I lost feeling in my hand. Three phlebotomists did not change gloves when touching the blood bottles and/or removing peoples needles! They did not use the sanitizer in their pockets though gloves should be changed! Julie used the same disinfecting wipe on three chairs! She was the one who had the audacity to show me sanitizer in her pocket but didn't use it when I called her out on fixing my needle after touching the machine and it's contents. I saw one phlebotomist get blood on her gloves, wipe them off and use sanitizer! NOT throw them away and put on NEW!! I stopped my session early. They were supposed to make me wait for 15 minutes to ensure I did not pass out. They had me leave after 7 minutes. I watched the clock. I sat in my car for a while longer to ensure I was ok. Please for your safety... Go to another company to donate! read more

They have a nice payoff for your plasma donation, bonuses from time to time. It's an easy process from signing in, to your initial evaluation, and the donation. The staff is attentive, even though some of them could have better customer interaction. Overall I've never found CSL any worse than when I would donate to Red Cross. read more

The machines are messed up and they are rude; get upset when you ask them to clean the bed before you lie down although that should be standard practice. Staff is grossly incompetent.. had to wait due to a staff member putting incorrect data into the system.After the wait had to re input all information again..the staff had cavelled my cost,afterwards,I had to be seated and wait again to se a nurse for a second time for no apparent reason.all in all the 20-30 min process turned into an 1 1/2 endeavor just to donate.. There are no informational sheets handed out when you check in to donate. I found out more on the internet about what to eat (no fried foods for example), cloudy plasma, long withdrawal times, dehydration, blown out veins, what foods to eat to produce protein, low counts, and care for the arm after donation, just to name a few. This is a medical facility where yes, you can be harmed, blood clots, blown veins, dizziness due fluid loss etc. They need to change their gloves when dealing with each new customer. Also, a flow chart handout would be helpful explaining the whole process from signing up, physical examination, finger stick, debit card, online bonus system and what you should do in case you are dizzy or feel faint. At no time did they give out a donor I.D. card. Did not know the donor I.D. number when we left. They are not professional. On a positive note, the ladies who took the plasma were friendly and attentive. They should be at the front desk! Or, better yet, have them train the woman at the front desk. I went in to donate at the CSL Plasma center in North Charleston,SC this past Wednesday morning after they opened up at 7.I have been a loyal donor since it was ZLB Plasma.After I finally got to a screening booth and my vitals were taken,I was told that I had an odor and was to go all the way back home and take a shower and return.I tried telling them that I had a shower the night before but they wouldn't listen.I have all ideas that I know who the person is that told them this.I am very hurt,upset and angry because of this!I have called corporate and filed a complaint.If I don't get any satisfactory results from this my next step is to contact an attorney as well as the local news media.I sure wouldn't recommend this place to anyone needing extra money.Their customer service is a joke and loyalty and being a repeat customer doesn't mean anything to them at all. read more

The one downtown on 215 Assembly Street is the worst one you can go to they do not switch their gloves Patient to Patient I was told that they don't switch him unless they're contaminated which does not make sense there's a lot of room for error I called corporate twice on them still have not got a phone call back I called other locations that are in the same company and they tell me that it does not make sense why they do not switch their gloves and then to head Managers from that location told me it while it's what they are being told that they don't have to switch their gloves unless they are contaminated I legitly watched one guy prick six guys arms without switching a pair of gloves I know people are hurting for money but your life is worth way more then that they make $1,000 a bottle and they give you your lousy $25 minimum and $75 maximum for first-time visit they can afford to switch their gloves something needs to be done plus they opened up a new plasma donating company in South Carolina Columbia Saint Bush River Road I believe so when you get down to $25 is that you can start donating their hand get the maximum again and the building is brand spanking new clean as hell and you don't have to drive all the way downtown read more

I haven't been there in maybe a year but when I went, once I got passed the bureaucratic part to get in I don't remember having any trouble with it. I went several times and got decent money for my donations and didn't have any problems aside from a slightly rude nurse who was tasked with getting me into the program and one of the sign in machines never working, though if I remember right there was always a way to sign in. Not the most convenient thing but definitely a better hourly value than an entry-level job. I was under 150 pounds when I went so my donations paid me, if I remember right, 15, then 20, then 40, then 20 again each month. If you weigh 150 pounds or more then you can get $50 for each donation which you can give a maximum of four of a month. Donations when I went took between an hour and a half and three hours. There just has to be a day between donations for your plasma to recharge. They gave me a sheet that says the best hours to come in and get out quickly each day, and they assign you certain days you can go but if I remember right you have some choice in the matter. There are certain medicines that if you take them you're not allowed to donate, like acutane. If you take any medicines regularly I'd ask them about those before trying to go through the process. Also make sure all your paperwork like your address on your drivers license and things like that are up to date. Some fairly recent google reviews said that some workers aren't practicing certain required health standards like changing gloves between customers and one even said that a worker handled "hazardous waste" without changing their gloves, so I'd read the google reviews since at the time of writing this one this is the only review here, and if you go I'd recommend being careful and observant about what the workers are doing. read more
