You can donate if you have been vaccinated for COVID-19 so don't let that stop you. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and have been on every single visit. They know me here! I love walking in and knowing the front desk person and phlebotomists. It makes the entire process easier. It's an easy to locate building. The staff is amazing and knowledgeable. For platelet donors I feel like they roll out the red carpet to keep us comfortable with movies and nice warm blankets. It's a good feeling to be able to donate and know I'm helping someone and also nice to have staff let you know how appreciated you are. I got a cute shirt this time around. read more

I checked in here today to try to donate blood. My appointment was t 12:30. I was greeted when I first walked in and was directed back to where we give our donations. As I come around the corner, I am again greeted with a smiling face by the young woman behind the counter. She helps me to get checked in and such, asked me a few questions and I was seated. After a few minutes of being seated, I was checked into the room to do my finger sticks and go over my info! This process was very smooth and the nurse was super sweet. Unfortunately, I was not able to donate blood because my iron level was low. I had been taking iron pills for the last 3 weeks to prepare myself for donating, but all of that didn't work out for me. I was given some tips on what to try to be able to give blood on my next visit, so I will try this out because I used to give all the time and now I am not able to donate. I am Brazilian and was a frequent donor in Brazil. When I got here I wanted to know about the possibility of donating, I found a list on the red cross website about restrictions and nothing stopped me. I booked a donation through the app, received a confirmation call, and took the opportunity once again to make sure that as a Brazilian and with 2 months only in the US, I could donate. Finally, on the day of the appointment, I followed the recommendations and went to the place. To my surprise I could not donate, according to the person who attended me, Brazil is on the list of endemic regions for malaria. I wasted time and money on transportation because of bad information. I suggest that this be improved, to avoid frustrating situations like today. read more

Made an appointment for today and arrived on time. Sat for 20 minutes and watched the staff laughing and gossiping with empty chairs and donors just sitting and waiting. I don't mind giving blood but wasting my time is unacceptable. Ask me to donate when you guys are serious about actually needing it. read more

What a great staff here that really helps people get in and out when donating blood. A few tips for you is to schedule an appointment and never arrive to earlier like i did or you might be waiting awhile to be seen. Check all the guidelines for donating so you don't waste yours and their time. A person today took an aspirin and wasn't able to give platelets like he normally does. Dress warm as it was colder than a well diggers ass in here today, in the lobby and the main facility. But it really doesn't take long to donate red blood cells or whole blood, you never know when you or a family might be need of blood. On a lighter side I think they have cleared out all the vampires that use to hang out in the lobby. read more

I took the basic life support for health care providers class. It was very informative and my instructor, Stanley Dowling, was TOP NOTCH. He really was very knowledgeable and presented the information in a way that made sense and was easy to retain. If you have the opportunity to take a class with him, do it. Highly recommended. read more
