This store is located right off the main strip & has a decent collection of clothing- anywhere from jackets to windbreakers to backpacking gear. I got a sandy honey brown jacket on sale for $80 (Original price around $140), and my boyfriend got an orange windbreaker on sale as well. We also picked up some travel books on sale to read while lounging around. I was happy that they had travel books since Catalina Island is sparse when it comes to bookstores or variety of reads. While some may be a bit old (think 2009), it is to be expected given the overall flow of traffic to the island. Be sure to peruse the sales section, esp. picking items that are off-season. The guy working there is nice & patient, as I was trying on different clothes & spent quite some time in the store. Definitely one of my more favorite stores on the island in comparison to the cheesy touristy shops that sell a bunch of trinkets & random stuff you probably wouldn't use or wear once off the island.

It's not a super steal but also definitely less than I would have spent buying something similar elsewhere. I've never bought clothing here because the prices are way too high to me. That being said, the random other things are cool. I've gotten some toys, books, plates from Japan, a stuffed boba plush, and more! Donation drop off is easy too in the back and you can also drop small amounts in the front. Staff is friendly: you can ask to open taped things to see if everything is there. It's a great, ever-changing plethora of a little bit of everything. This is a well organized thrift store. The moment you walk in, you can pretty much see all the various departments and what they are offering where. They generally keep their records and books up near the front, and their clothing over to the right side. They also keep their more boutique items behind the counter. That is a perfect place to discover that unique and/or antique or collectible item. They have all their electronics in the back. So if you're looking for anything electrical, and or anything else like that, that's your place to go. Overall, this is a fun shop to go into. The staff here are always really nice. And, you can come upon that item that you've been looking for or that's something you never knew you needed.

Unfortunately, my recent sellers chose a company on their own, and in my opinion, they were greatly taken advantage of. The experience reminded me just how exceptional Phil and his team at Downsizing Solutions are. Phil is, without question, one of the best estate sale professionals I've ever worked with. To give some perspective, the company my sellers used spent only three days going through the home, while Phil typically dedicates two to three weeks to carefully sort, organize, and price everything so each item is displayed and visible. This particular home was filled with high-end items, many brand new and countless tools and collectibles stored in every room and closet. The other company didn't set up enough display tables, leaving many valuable items unseen and underpriced. In contrast, Phil and his team use every available space, even setting up tables in the backyard if needed, ensuring that everything is visible and well-presented. Phil consistently draws large crowds, often with hundreds of people lined up before the sale even opens, and his sales generate strong returns for sellers. He also goes above and beyond after the sale, working closely with clients to organize donations and provide documentation for tax write-offs. It's difficult to see clients taken advantage of, especially when they simply didn't know the difference in quality and professionalism among estate sale companies. I did recommend Phil, but they chose someone who was personally connected to the deceased. It was a hard lesson learned, and I want to make sure others don't have the same experience. If you ever need someone reliable, professional, and truly dedicated to helping clients get the best results from an estate sale, I can only recommend Phil and Downsizing Solutions. We first went to Little Tokyo, thinking we would find authentic Japanese yukatas. However, that was not the case. Anyway, we found Tokyo Kimono and we are so glad we did!! The service was exceptional. I was able to try on 3 yukatas and found my dream one. There was also a relatively large selection of men's yukata as well so we were both able to find our outfits.
