Because my husband was allergic to lilies, she removed part of it so he wouldn't be a sneezing mess haha. As for the store, there were lots of good quality items from clothing to accessories. I can tell the store had a lot of history behind it as evidenced by pictures of her family along the walls. I was pleasantly surprised to know Brittani was a USC alumni like me. Go Trojans! The place for Patagonia lovers…read more My boyfriend & I were planning a hike up to the Botanical gardens when I realized I had forgotten my one shoulder bag. This store is located right off the main strip & has a decent collection of clothing- anywhere from jackets to windbreakers to backpacking gear. I got a sandy honey brown jacket on sale for $80 (Original price around $140), and my boyfriend got an orange windbreaker on sale as well. We also picked up some travel books on sale to read while lounging around. I was happy that they had travel books since Catalina Island is sparse when it comes to bookstores or variety of reads. While some may be a bit old (think 2009), it is to be expected given the overall flow of traffic to the island. Be sure to peruse the sales section, esp. picking items that are off-season. The guy working there is nice & patient, as I was trying on different clothes & spent quite some time in the store. Definitely one of my more favorite stores on the island in comparison to the cheesy touristy shops that sell a bunch of trinkets & random stuff you probably wouldn't use or wear once off the island.

I came in two days ago, asked about a board. They were out. I said I was interested in acquiring a board ASAP, they said come in later when their inventory arrives. I literally walked up to the people who deliver shipments to businesses after they're flown to the island. I asked if they were going to deliver to CSC that day. They said they were on the way after stopping at Vons. Couple hours later, I stop at the shop and the shipment is sitting right next to the employee at the register. They said come back later, they had to unpack all the stuff. I say okay, expecting to have the board later that day. Come in later that day. It's 4:50pm. There's a note on the door saying "on break, back at 5". I already knew the employee was lazy and wouldn't be back on time, so I come back at 5:15. I arrive seconds before them, while they're pulling the keys to the business out of their pocket. Boxes still sitting there. They say come back tomorrow. Okay... Next day, I come back several times desperate to buy a board, every single time the same boxes are sitting on the floor. Ended that day empty handed. It's currently 2:50pm the next day. I've dropped in twice already today. Same thing. They KNEW I was willing to drop $200 on board parts, why would you not just take out components to a board and sell them to me? I've given up. I just wanted to ride, dude. Come on... Any skateboarders know what it's like when you get that itch and just need to ride. Someone who runs a boardshop should definitely get it. Anyone with business sense would get it. This place kept playing with me, acting like they were actually going to do what a business does. I felt like I was in some sort of absurd time loop. I am severely disappointed. I may just buy someone's board off of them. I'm sure it's not a bad business but this was a horrible experience. I mean, lazy is one thing. Three days to open a few boxes and scan some barcodes though? That's a whole new level.

She's A Jewel | The shop is elegant, and also fun and colorful at once! It's like a treasure chest with a variety of price points, mainly higher price points, depending upon what you're attracted to! You will find gorgeous necklaces, bracelets & earrings! Play | I've been in the store plenty and it's always fun trying on a variety of unique necklaces! On my most recent visit, Robert was at the store! He is amazing, has upbeat energy, & I also recognized him from Steve's Steakhouse! It's always fun trying on different necklaces and catching up, including learning more fun facts about the island! Robert is also knowledgeable about the items, as well as the artists! In fact, while chatting, he received a phone call from the very artist who had created my birthday necklace! What a coincidence! Mermaid Love | There are beautiful mermaid paintings & mermaid statues throughout the store as well, which are fun and magical! The store first caught my eye on the very first visit to Catalina Island Avalon, when I saw a large mermaid table with glass on top staring back at me in the window! Beautiful, as I tend to love all things mermaids! Customer Service | Excellent, top-tier & incredibly friendly! Cathy, who has now retired, helped me pick out my beautiful birthday necklace last year! After celebrating with friends and family during my birthday month, I traveled to Catalina solo on my actual birthday and wanted to get something special! I actually wore the necklace to my birthday dinner, which went well with my mermaid-coded dress from a shop in Catalina! Overall | I love Two's of Avalon and the experience I have whenever I visit! The jewelry is beautiful, the artwork is whimsical and fun, and I usually walk out of the store, easily smiling from the excellent customer service! Let's go!

This time I found a cute mother of pearl sun pendant to remind me of Avalon. The store is filled with lots of unique art pieces created by local artists. It's a fun place to browse. If you are looking for something other than the usual shot glass, T-Shirt, magnet, or other touristy items that all of the gift shops carry, Two's Company of Avalon is a good option to consider.

This is your classic upscale beach town gift shop. You will most certainly NOT see cheesy magnets…read moreor novelty t-shirts. This is a shop for people that own beach houses or have relatives that do. Or who have fully embraced the nautical or "beach" aesthetic in their homes. I do tease. This stores carries a well-curated array of gifts. These include such things as hand-made pottery, jewelry, candles, cards and an array of objet d'arts. There is dominant color palate of blues, greens and driftwood. It is a very nice shop and one that you could easily spend quite a while picking out a tasteful gift for a loved one. The Steamer Trunk has a lovely inventory. And it of course carries merchandise emblazoned with "Catalina Island." It's just that it's the same inventory I've seen when I've visited my mother near Rehobeth Beach. Or the Waterfront in Baltimore where my sister lives. It would have been nice to have seen some more local artists/artisans represented. As you might expect, the gift shop wasn't on the cheap side, but, to be fair, for the quality of the goods for sale it was reasonable. Resort towns (and California and especially Catalina) are typically on the pricier side. This is an economy fed primarily through tourism. But, again, prices were not exorbitant. When I visited there several other shoppers in the store and the woman tending the register was answering question for them. I felt like I would have no problem getting helpful answers. So, while not unique, definitely a place to find some beautiful gifts.
