I had some outfits come in from India, but the tops were made a bit to small for me, I came by the store on Saturday afternoon and met with the lovely owner. She took my measurements and I explained to her what I needed done. Pricing for alterations are not and, it's what I would be expecting to pay if I was getting this done in Jackson Heights NY... The store offers alot of Indian items; from clothes, jewelry, accessories a few more items; for men, woman and children. Some items on display however do seem a bit out dated, compared to the fashion and style of today's designers. The prices for items in the shop seem on the higher side, but considering there are not many Indian shops around, and majority of items are coming from India, it's rare findings. The shop also has beauty services: hair, eyebrow threading, and even Hannah! I honestly never knew this shop was here, but now that I've been made aware I'll be coming in more often for some services and when I need alterations on my Indian ware. I also need to make a shout out to the kind woman who works in the shop along side the owner (I can't remember her name!!). The Front receptionist and I began talking after a while and I mentioned how I would've got mine done & she stopped me mid sentence exclaiming that she has someone who could take me right now. Of course I took her up on the offer and ended getting my brows tinted and cleaned up. The brow artist I had (sadly I don't remember her name) was so sweet and listened to exactly what I wanted instead of doing whatever she thought I needed. Needless to say, my brows came out amazing. I've gotten compliment after compliment because she did a really great job of making them look natural. She also gave me tips on maintaining them and what to use to help them grow in the places I have slight gaps. Another thing I noticed while I was sitting there waiting for my friend is that the brow artist wouldn't take her next appointment if let's say she was waiting 10 minutes for the tint to set on her 1st appointment. This is something I've experienced all the time and really dislike at salons because then you're stuck waiting till they're done with a person that came after you. So I really like the fact that they gave their full attention to you and your appointment. I will honestly being going back here for the simple fact that they overall provide a great service. I've been coming here for a few years and Ella has always done a great job on my brows. As others have noted, the wait times can be long but I found that as long as I had an appointment I only waited a few minutes. In June I had an appointment yet was kept waiting about 40 minutes. I messaged the owner and she apologized and had a bunch of excuses as to why Ella was running so behind and couldn't call or text to let me know. Ella didn't apologize but I chalked it up to her being young and that after our chat her mom would explain how to handle situations like this going forward. I didn't really plan to come back but I'm traveling for work and my brows were a mess so I decided to give them another try. I called earlier in the day and made an appointment for 6:30, arrived on time and Ella didn't start on my brows until 7:20. And once again not even so much as an "I apologize for the wait" or "thanks for your patience." I've never had a service provider not even acknowledge keeping a paying customer waiting that long in my life and now she has done it to me twice. I won't give them a third opportunity to not even show basic decency or customer service. It's sad that they've lost so many customers, not because they don't do great work, but because they refuse to invest in a system for booking appointments.
