(But, I'm sure you can guess ) Anyway...from the moment I messaged Shay on instagram, she was patient and kind. I went today to do underarms and legs. Her suite is beautiful and very clean! She made me feel very comfortable and did not pressure me at all! She told me we would go at my pace, if I needed a break to let her know and if I wanted to stop that was perfectly ok too. This was so reassuring because at the other place, the waxer was very pushy and not gentle at all. Shay made the experience so pleasant. Which is hard to believe because you're literally getting the hair ripped off your body. Lol. Regardless, she showed me how to breathe through it and went at my pace. She checked in repeatedly and made sure I was comfortable the entire time! I can't say enough about my wonderful experience at Pretty Girls Beauty Studio. My next appointment is already booked and I'm so excited to be smooth like butta!

My very first waxing experience was so traumatic, I had to research other places on Yelp because in my that experience, I had booked a particular person based on the reviews, and I found out at the end of my session that I got someone else because that person did not introduce herself in the beginning. I also opted for a full bikini wax session, and that lady pressured me to get more hair off more than I had planned for. Green Wave was A MUCH BETTER VIBE!! I was immediately greeted by staff the moment I walked in, and a minute later, my wax technician greeted me and introduced herself as Mariana with a friendly smile. I already started to feel at ease. She gave me an obstetric wipe to use before we got started, which puts me more at ease seeing how careful and meticulous their processes are. I can't say that waxing down there is painless because it's still hurt, but it didn't hurt as bad as my first experience -- I opted for the deep bikini ($35) and she cleaned up very well! She even offered to trim the rest of my hairs. Mariana was very patient with me, even asked if I wanted more hair removed and I did not feel pressured at all! Even after each pull, she applied pressure to dull the pain, and put powder and at the end used a cooling spray. Some of these techniques I noticed were never done in the first place I went to, which was just all pull and pull with no mercy. Thank you Green Wave for a much better experience and although it's a bit of a drive for me, much more worth it! I'd come again!

But ever since the COVID started taking over our normal lives, businesses were forced to close during the shutdown. When it was time for business to start opening back up slowly, many business were not able to come back and had no choice to shut down permanently. Unfortunately, this happened to the place where my stylists used to work. But luckily he was able to find a new salon where can work and he contacted me when he found out when can start working again, which is what led me to this place. I have not been to this place before but I felt very comfortable and safe coming in. They have very detailed and strict guidelines to ensure everyone's safety. For example, customers had to call in from their cars upon arrival so they can make sure there's plenty of room for social distancing. We had to use hand santizer sanitizer when we walk through the front door. We all have to wear masks the entire time during the visits. In addition to the safety rules, the place looked very clean and organize. The beauty chairs are positioned so customers will not be breathing to each other because the wall mirrors are placed between each chair. Touchless payment method is used so you can pay directly to your stlist and you dont have to wait and pay at the front desk. This location might be a little out of the way from my house, but I dont mind driving a little further so I can still support local businesses.
