In Paris for one evening in transit and really wanted gallettes. Gallette? Did a little Yelping and found this wonderful cafe-type place on an artsy square with an extensive menu. The place was filled with locals, it appeared, so we knew it would be good. And it was! Lovely salad accompanying the meal, nice wine and hard ciders, and lovely atmosphere - away from the touristy street a block away filled with smoke and happy hour-ers. This was our first time trying buckwheat galettes and it was a delicious introduction. We got the Toronto galette and one order of the Menu order set (came with a glass of apple cider, a complete galette, and a butter/sugar galette). We were surprised that galettes are pretty filling. We received French menus but this isn't an issue if you have Google Translate on your phone. The staff was nice to us despite us not speaking much French. Aside from smelling adjacent tables' cigarette smoke, dining outside in sunny weather was perfect. I would recommend first timers to come here for a positive experience! read more

I am American on our first visit to Paris. We have been to 4 other restaurants so far. We know that things move slower here and are fine with that. We were seated, it took forever to order - no big deal. Literally, no less than 4 groups were seated AFTER us and got their food. Two of those groups sat, ate, and left. When we called the waiter to ask what the delay was, he didn't stop walking - just put up his hand to brush us off and kept walking. He came back minutes later to inform us that he forgot to place our order. This was 50 minutes after we sat down. The place was not busy. What the actual F? By now our drinks were empty. When the food came, mine was fine, my wife's was fine. Daughter got the special and the salad was just a pile of lettuce- is that normal? Just a pile of leaves with no dressing as a salad? I tracked down the waiter asking about the second plate my son ordered along with the crepe that came with my daughters food and he simply replied "those come later" Well later never came. I went inside and didn't see our server. Came back outside and asked another server where ours was, and she said that all servers handle all tables- so she essentially said that it wasn't the waiters' fault it was ALL of their fault. Horrible service. 90 minutes for a quick breakfast. Finally found a crepe place to get our crepe fix in here in Paris. I love how they have the menu set where you get a savory ham egg and cheese buckwheat galette, a apple cider and a sweet butter sugar crepe. The buckwheat galette was delightfully light airy and crispy, with the ham egg and cheese all coming together wonderfully in your mouth. The egg is cooked just enough where you can dip your crepe (galette) in the yolk like a sauce. The apple cider is rather different from what I've had before, with a more apple cider vinegar taste. The sweet butter sugar crepe is simple, sweet and a wonderful way to enjoy the crepe in its most straight forward form. Each bite is super soft and almost melt in your mouth. read more

Right after visiting the Pompidou Centre, we decided to come here for a crêpe. The restaurant was very busy, but we managed to get a table for 5 right by the window. Both savory and sweet options are available, meaning that the menu has something for anyone. Service was quick and friendly and all the crêpes that we were served were delicious. Chose Crêperie Beaubourg based on English version of Yelp reviews...and it was a good choice after afternoon at the Musée Louvre. Maybe 30 mins walk, or less. Simple menu. Central location. Little larger than most crepe places with both indoor and outdoor seating. Still, a it's crepe place. We chose a veggie crepe, a Norwegian crepe (Smoked salmon with herb cream cheese), and pitcher of hearty French wine. On a second nite, chose the Norwegian Salad served with a shot of Swedish Aquavit--an acquired taste I presume. Also delicious, and prefer over similar crepe dish. 26-30€ including VAT and service charge built in. Menus offered in English too, no problemo. Minor Gripe: No Brewskies on tap. So chose the wine by the carafe. Very much recommend, and one of the better crêperies after a week in Paris. And few minute walk to Châtelet-Les Halles Train/Metro Station too. We went to the modern art museum earlier yesterday and wanted somewhere close and decent. The fact that they offer buckwheat crepe option as gluten free option was a high point for my wife. She got the curry buckwheat savory crepe which actually was pretty good. The curry flavor comes through. I got the steak and fried egg buckwheat which was just okay. I was expecting them to be embedded in the crepe instead of the top. My son got the kids menu ham and cheese crepe along with a dessert crepe and a coke. Not a bad deal. My wife separately got the Nutella buckwheat crepe. All in all, just a so so place. Nothing to really rave about. read more

Creperie Beaubourg was the only creperie we went to during our trip and it was EXCELLENT! It was a crowded house but we were luckily seated right away. Our waiter was nice and turned out to be American so we had a good time chatting with him. My husband had the COMPLET which was breakfast-type crepe with ham, eggs and cheese and I really enjoyed mine which had goat cheese, cream and lardons - SO good! I've never had buckwheat crepes before and now I'm hooked! We then shared a dessert crepe that was topped with caramel ice cream, chocolate sauce, pralines and whipped cream. If there's one nice creperie in Paris to visit, c'est Beaubourg! read more

This is a solid lunch spot by the Stravinsky fountain next to the Centre Pompidou. The lunch set includes a glass of cider, a savoury crepe with ham/egg/cheese and small side salad, and a sweet crepe for dessert for 9.50 euros. Great value and the crepes were very crisp and tasty! Like many Parisian places, tables are super crammed together and it gets a bit claustophobic around lunch but the atmosphere is charming (nice artwork on the walls) and it doesn't feel like a tourist trap despite being next to such a major attraction. read more

We wanted to give this place a chance in spite of some mediocre reviews. The resto was almost empty @ around 11:45am (it is usually a reliable sign) but we still went for it... we should have known better. we sat down, and the guy came to us, and said "je suis désolé but we cannot let you sit, outside is only for large groups- 3 people is a small group, I can put you next to the front door." There was no raised voice- but he was still passively-aggressively rude. A local girl sitting alone in the same area where we tried to sit, was looking at us with a little sarcastic smile :). This creperie is located near the Pompidou, next to the fountains. Great stop after visiting the Pompidou. They have wonderful buckwheat crepes. I had the complet, meaning a savory crepe, cider and a desert crepe. The crepe was large, with the right amount of ham, cheese and egg. My family had a variety of savory crepes, all were consistently perfectly cooked with fresh ingredients. I can see how the buckwheat crepe would not be every ones taste, especially if you are used to the American crepes. I also really enjoyed the cider with and would recommend it. Our server was a young guy who was friendly and patient with us. The menu is in French. They may have English ones, but the menu is mostly listing basic items in the crepes (cheese, onion, etc.) so is pretty easy to understand even with my very basic grasp. read more

By far the best crepes we had in France. They do crepes from Brittany, and they were delicious. We liked it. Went twice in 12 days. Ordered Le Menu, got a ham egg and cheese crepe, frisée salad, glass of cider, and a small butter and sugar desert crepe for €9.75, an excellent value for the area. Food was perfectly prepared and came out in a timely fashion. The patio is a fantastic spot to sit and watch people go by, and the fountain adds a touch of whimsy. Ok, a lot of whimsy. During our afternoon visit there was a fierce street soccer game going on and I got to heroically block a ball from hitting my wife in the head, so consider your timing. We had one of the specials with a cheese, ham and egg crepe and that also came with a butter and sugar crepe. The savory one was pretty good but the "sweet" one wasn't that good. A very bad experience with the service and the waiting staff. We ordered a specific menue which included a desert crepe with sugar. We asked for some lemon to drizzle over it. Waiter (who turned out to be the boss) hesitated because it would be an extra. After some discussion they conceded as a courtesy. We got 1/2 a lemon. Total shock when the bill came. The half lemon was € 1.50. The cashier said that it was the boss's decision and that he had left already. I couldn't confront the coward. Hungry for money or out to screw customers. Maybe both. Good crêperie, and a good choice among a lot of tourist traps near the Centre Pompidou. The service was very friendly and fast and the crêpes were decent. They have menus in english and french. If you're looking for the best crêpes in Paris, they aren't here, but if you're hungry and in the neighborhood it's a good choice. There's another restaurant on the same street called "Paris Beaubourg" but it's different, so don't get them mixed up. Pas les meilleurs crêpes de Paris mais quand même un bon choix quand on a faim et on est déjà dans le quartier. read more

Went here for a late dinner- the service was fine (although we asked to move tables, a few moments later they sat a couple of women at the same table, they asked to be moved as well). We ordered savory and sweet crepes and everything came out quickly. The buckwheat savory crepes were crispy and the sunny side egg (which I don't usually like) was fantastic. I ordered a banana and chocolate sweet crepe, and it was yummy. They flambé the Grand Marnier crepe table side- so fun? I'm not sure I would return, but it was decent for a cheaper Paris meal. I'm not sure why the crepes here are getting such good reviews. Ours were mediocre and exactly what you'd expect from a cafe next to the Pompidou--crowded, overpriced and average at best. They broke too easily like there wasn't enough egg to hold the batter together. Not cool. The decor's nice though, kinda rustic and homey. It feels like a place you'd want to spend your money at, a chill place after a long day of walking around the city, but if I lived in Paris, I definitely wouldn't come here!! read more

Well, my husband feels better now that he's puked. But i wouldn't go here unless you want to feel really sick after. My food wasn't very good either. "Salad" means a messy pile of ratty lettuce. They couldn't even be bothered to put the filling in my crepe inside the crepe, it was just piled on top. But it's cheap and if you like watching tourists probably a good place to take the kids, unless they also get sick from it.
