They had an incredible array of all things baked goods. They also had good coffee related options as well as what appeared to be a lot of local goods for sale. We had a number of delicious pastries including some very good donuts. Our kids were very excited about the donuts! Prices were very normal and the folks here were very friendly, and we're very effective at communicating with those of us who don't speak much Spanish. The seating area was more than ample and included a number of different options including tables and bar level seating. Worth a stop for a morning pastry or an anytime treat!

I got by speaking English with aggressive hand language (pointing at the menu really and making shapes in the air). They have an English menu, not to worry, so you can simply smile and point. The cafe had a very french bistro atmosphere to it - very cute and quaint. The place filled up quickly, and at one point there was only one waitress (so expect slower service). However, as many of the patrons seemed to be locals, I think they didn't require fast service as they were pleasantly chatting away. I, on the other hand, had to go up to the waitress when she was making coffee in order to get my check (which is fine to do if you're in a hurry!) The food was fair - the soup, which was the soup of the day so unfortunately to me is unidentifiable, was sweet and creamy. Very similar to tomato bisque with some chives on top. The app I ordered, tuna belly salad, was okay - the tuna was pre-cooked as it was cold. The entree, salmon with asparagus, was very good as well. Definitely worth a venture, as this shop is fairly close to the popular high-end shopping street, Passeig de Gracia, so it's convenient to go to after a hard days worth of spending money.

The four of us ended up splitting two orders of churros with the hot chocolate. The churros arrived about 5-10 minutes later alongside the hot chocolate. Everything was freshly prepared and very hot when it arrived. The churros were not dusted with sugar, but they did have some sugar available at the table. The churros themselves had a crispy, golden outside, with a softer inside. Dipped in the smooth, decadent hot chocolate they were fantastic! The hot chocolate was rich, but not super thick. The two combined were very enjoyable and we finished all of them easily. I thought the portion of churros could have been slightly larger. They served the two orders together on the same plate. Though one complaint, one major complaint I have with this place, is how overly sweet it all is. But with a cup of coffee it evens out. Xocolata Taraonja (AKA- Orange chocolate mousse cake) - very flavorful without the chocolate overpowering it all. It's a good balance between the two strong flavors. The mousse layers as well, compliments the (chocolate) sàble base. La Cirera- (AKA- The Apple shaped cherry mousse cake) is incredibly adorable. The outside, though shaped and looks of a red apple, the inside is anything but. Cherry mousse with a thin but incredibly rich Nutella layer all resting atop a sandy shortbread base. It's mostly just beautiful.. the taste, though.. soothing, it's overwhelmingly sweet. Somethings are meant to be photographed and not enjoyed. Cherry flavors seem lost if one didn't know what flavor it was as they bite into it. Tartin - flavorful, sweet with a buttery crumbly base. At first bite everything's wonderful but at second, third chew, it starts to get too sweet. But still good. It's not as pretty as the rest but flavor wise, it works the best. Their pastry sections are more of their strong suit when it comes to taste. Croissants are flaky and buttery, not to mention a great deal for one. €1.10 for a plain croissant. It's also beautifully made. Overall, don't do what I did when I came here and try to eat all three super super sweet mousse tartlets in one sitting, instead maybe take them home or hotel and enjoy with some sugar-free coffee. This patisserie has their presentation down. But it's for the sweet tooth not for the faint-tongued. Service are generally well. All the employees there seem to speak English so if you're not from Spain or can't speak the language, no worries. Last tip: try to come early as it tends to get busy during pastry craving hours. Rumor has it (source: google) this patisserie is owned by an award winning chief.
