I would like to leave a review about the Crystal Dent clinic in Glendale. Dr. Pavel is truly an excellent specialist, and I'm very grateful to him for the quality dental treatment and restoration of my teeth. However, unfortunately, I will not return to this clinic because of the receptionist, who I believe is the doctor's wife. Her behavior is extremely rude, as if she thinks she's doing patients a great favor just by acknowledging their appointments. More disturbingly, there are clear signs of xenophobia in her attitude. If you speak to her in English or Russian instead of Armenian, she visibly shows disdain, as if anyone not speaking her language is somehow beneath her. This kind of attitude is absolutely unacceptable for a medical facility. I hope the management takes note of this, as it completely overshadows the great work done by the doctor himself. read more

The most terrible place where you can cure your teeth, or actually destroy them completely! After the treatment, you come with a problem and instead of "we are very sorry, let's give look" you hear the insults shouting in a raised voice from women on front desk. For five years I have been treating my teeth with Dr. Pavel Harutyunyan. Very pleasant atmosphere in the office. The office is sterile. Light relaxing music sounds. All medical and office staff disposes clients to a stress-free visit. No need to wait for your visit for a month or more, you will always be provided with a time and day convenient for you. Dr. Pavel Harutyunyan is a competent dentist, very friendly, all movements are confident and honed, he is a professional in his field. You can watch and enjoy the tandem of Dr. Pavel with the nurse endlessly: the nurse assistant works smoothly and clearly : all the tools and materials for the doctor 's work are at the doctor 's hand in a split second . Worst dentist ever, I am on the line with insurance company reporting malpractice by Dr. Arutyunyan he took my mom's tooth and left the root inside her gum. Now she has infection and need a surgery for removal of the root. Dr. Arutyunyan is denying and has nerve to recall he never took her tooth out. I am completely in shock at his audacity as a medical professional. Someone has to teach him a lesson and that someone today would be me. He is a disgrace to a dental profession. Shame! read more

I paid this man cash for routine crown after I had gotten a decent root canal treatment somewhere else. To this day, those crowns have been bothering me to the point of excruciating pain. However, when I went back to the office to speak with the awful receptionist who is the dentist's nasty wife, the dentist suggested I just have silver filling placed in the gap between my crowns. Later, when I received a second opinion, they let me know that what this doctor did was unethical, and should have fixed the poor job in the first place. You're lucky I'm not at the point where I will file a complaint with the Board. Stay away from these penny-pinchers. The dentist is less of a dentist and more of a crude carpenter. They're quick and precise .I've been coming by here for over 5 years and not once have they made me felt pain . I've had a few root canals done here and it was PAIN FREE!!! I want to leave a review in order to save other people from the same pain and discomfort that I have been experiencing since October of this year. I did three crowns at this dentist's office and his lack of professionalism and poor work led me to unbearable pain to the point where I could no longer function and had to be on painkillers. I began to have a strong inflammatory process and the infection from the gums went higher to the eyes and nose. My sinuses were infected and I am not scheduled to have an operation to remove the infection. In addition, I had to remove the crowns this doctor put in and went to a different dentist who said that everything needed to be redone and new crowns put in. Because absolutely everything is infected now the treatment is three times more expensive for me but should have been routine crowns. I also want to separately note regarding the wife of the dentist who manages the front desk. She is utterly rude, she raises her voice, and has no clue about how to properly communicate with patients that come to their office for help. She is constantly walking from room to room so that she can hear what the patient and doctor are talking about. She makes comments in Armenian so that clients do not understand what she talks about. Even though I went back to him numerous times and told him something is wrong and I am in a lot of pain the dentist just could not "see" where the problem was even though the xrays clearly show where the problem is but another dentist clearly observed the brewing infection that has led to all the pain and distress. Please, refrain from coming to this office because you deserve better care. read more

If I could give negative stars to this office I certainly would. The dentist's wife is rude and over steps many boundaries when communicating with clients. Personally, I would not recommend anyone to come here because the repairs you will need after they work on you will cost you a lot. This doctor also recommended I get a crown on a tooth which other dentists say cannot be saved and my only option at this point is an implant. This office charged me to start process of crown $100 and when I went back they refused to refund me even after I let them know after getting second opinion I did not want to move forward with a crown. The dentist also did root canals for me and I spent a lot of money having another dentist fixing his work. Save your money, your nerves, and please go somewhere else. I can't understand why this place is always full of clients based on the negative reviews here there is definitely a trend. read more

Dr. Arutyunyan is great and offers very fast service. I've been here three times and I'm always in and out within 1 hour with little to no discomfort. All my cavities were filled perfectly and I can't even tell which teeth have the fillings. Plus, he plays great music in the background and he's very funny. Everything is good here. I had my tooth filling last day and I can say it was amazing experience. I've been at others dental office but couldn't be comfortable as much as this place. Doctor is so kind and so caring for patients; I swear that there was no any little feeling of pain while injecting. His so caring. Oh my God AMAZING! I usually hate going to dentists but not only is the dentist outstanding but so is his assistant and I believe his wife who is at the front desk. I hate two appointments, in two consecutive days, and had all 5 of my cavities fixed. The procedures were quick, easy, and most importantly painless! He literally knows exactly what he is doing. I never thought I'd run into a place like this but it happened. They REUSE their gloves and utensils that are supposed to be replaced for each patient. I noticed this when I was being treated here when the nurse came in from another room after dealing with a patient and proceeded to place her disgusting gloves into my mouth. I thought maybe she changed them and I hadn't noticed so I wasn't 100% sure. My sister is a friend of one of the dental assistants that used to worked there and the assistant confirmed that this was true. The employees were told by Dr. Harutunyan to reuse the equipment AND I QUOTE "not use so much soap" all the time, to avoid extra costs. read more

NASTY front desk woman. She bit my head off. Wow! I still cannot believe that there are people like her who will treat prospective patients so badly. What did I ever do to this horrible person. I had an appointment. I had a note from my dentist for a consultation. As soon as I handed the note to LARA (that's the Manager). She immediately said, "WHY DIDN'T YOUR DENTIST DO THE WORK!!!! IT'S NOT COVERED BY YOUR INSURANCE THIS TIME OF WORK. WHY DIDN'T YOUR DENTIST DO IT" I was totally shocked and I just took back the paper and walked away. I called their office about 10 minutes later to asked why I had to be yelled at and if it was necessary. Lara started yelling at me again and hanged up the phone. I was calmed the whole time. I wasn't responding to her rudeness but my heart was racing because I was a bit upset. I called again and asked to speak to the dentist and he explained to me in a very professional manner that the procedure that needs to be done on my teeth and the insurance will not cover the procedure. He apologized to me. He asked me if it will make me happy if I post my review on Yelp and I told him that people in the community (Glendale) need to be warned about this terrible woman who works in that office and BE PREPARED AND BE READY TO BE YELLED AT. It's not an acceptable behavior in a "professional" environment. The dentist must be an excellent dentist (he seemed very nice when I spoke to him) but he needs to get rid of the woman Lara because it's not good for business. Most likely, he lost a lot of business because of her. I feel bad for him (the dentist) because the woman he hired is not making him make more money. I'm pretty sure this situation happened many times in the past. I'm contemplating whether to call BBB, ADA, etc....maybe I will. read more

First of all, I am surprised to see anything other than 5 stars on their reviews. This place is absolutely outstanding. Dr Arutyunyan and his wife are great people. She is very helpful at the front desk and the office is extremely clean and immaculate. His assistants are very attentive and help visits go extremely efficient. The original reason that I chose him was for locality over 10 years ago and now that I live in El Sereno, I continue to go to him. In fact my wife and our kids are now patients with them. Unfortunately due to some changes in insurance for a few years I attended another dentist and they could not compare. They seemed to try to push extra services on me and told me I had issues with my teeth. I never heard this from Dr Arutyunyan and in fact when I was able to return to him a few years back he continued to reassure that my teeth were in great condition. Also he has great touch! Never any complaints of discomfort with cleaning/procedures and also fixed a chipped tooth of mine a few times and have never had an issue since. read more

I am very skeptical when it comes to dental offices and any procedures done regarding needles and injections, so I was already hesitant to come to a dentist. Long story short, I made an appointment and the front desk lady helped me out with the financial aspects of the procedure and for the price I was paying, I received top notch care. The dental assistant guided me back to one of the rooms and I sat nervously waiting for Dr. Pavel. After a brief consultation and his reassuring of care, we discussed my case and with my trust in him, I was okay of the procedure. Albeit it may be nothing to other people, cavities are a serious deal for me as I was traumatized by bad dentists at an early childhood, needless to say, half an our or so later, all three of my cavities were taken care of. In lightning speed and care, Dr. Pavel was able to alleviate my tooth pain and hesitation. Also, to further lower my anxiety level, every step of the way he would explain the purpose of the step and to show there were no tricks, gimmicks or any other illusions to the process of fixing my cavities. Definitely won't neglect flossing anymore, I'll be back biannually for my checkups and cleaning that's for sure. I would highly recommend Dr. Pavel and his staff to my friends and colleagues (which I have) so now I'm also recommending it online as well. If you see this Dr. Pavel, thank you very much! read more
