We had an ice dam in our home during 2026 which caused a lot of water damage to our ceiling and walls. Our insurance company sent out Crystal Restoration based out of Hartford. This company was easy to deal with, prompt, did a fantastic job on remediation in our living room. The area was prepared and the workers were wonderful. They had a crew of men at our home on New Years Day to begin the structural recovery process to dry, clean, sanitize and prevent further structure damage, mold growth, and reducing long term health risk. CT never ever ever use these people. This review is from Simsbury Connecticut 2024.If I could give them a star that was less than one I would. The project managers involved were named Nick and Kyle. These so-called managers brought their employees to and left them there unsupervised. These employees had no idea the damage that occurred, nor the plan that I had been discussing with the property manager for weeks on end. Not one process or procedure was done as the project manager outlined it would be. These unprofessional employees, 90% of them did not speak the same language as me so I could not communicate with them, absolutely destroy . I had a water damage claim in which they provided a quote to my claims and adjuster into the thousands, to pack up property within the home, move it and arrange it within the home while they tore out flooring, baseboards, vanities, and rather than doing what they were hired to do, they took every one of my possessions, fragile items, computer items, shoes, carpeting, anything, and everything that goes on your dressers, items from my closet, etc., and literally threw them around the room,'s, in my bathtub, dirt dust debris left everywhere. Particles of sheet rock, nails, sticking up from all the flooring that they tore out, nail sticking out of the baseboards, Nails in the doorway. Not one item shop vac when they were done. Broken items left out. Broken bifold doors. Dryer taken out of it out from the roof, venting, re-hooked it, but never hooked the vent to the roof, which could cause a severe fire debris, come back into my clothes. Tore hardwood floors out from underneath the toilet toilets which when you sit on them on seat them and they are all leaking upon learning of all this, the manager refused to bring any employee and order himself back to rectify this that same day. I had nowhere to lay down and even go to sleep that evening as the bed was full of items. We couldn't shower as the shower was full of items. At that point, I fired them. The contractor in which referred them of course now doesn't want to be involved at all and I'm left with no one to put my house back together. Immediately notified my insurance company, claims adjuster, and we are working together on next steps. They were unprofessional, project manager, and was clueless, the employees are horrendous, no idea what they were doing. Two females showed up to clean in the basement, dumped 5 gallons of water down my kitchen sink through my garbage disposal. My curtains on the floor. Exit ways blocked. no zippered plastic wrap put up, only solid wrap so I couldn't even exit out my back door where I needed to. claim on paperwork that they if not thousands of feet of plaster rack yet the box zero plaster wrap used on any item. The only boxes you ever used for anything were the ones I happen to have sitting in my own basement. The entire gym was supposed to be sanitized, the gym flooring was taken apart in a still piled up in the corner, full of debris, never cleaned. Never kept the mold samples they were supposed to, they threw it all away. Filled my 5 gallon bucket as well while I still had dishes in my sink. Broke multiple items in my basement while cleaning throwing camping equipment on top of fragile. Brought the boxes with them, they repack a few belongings in my basement into my own boxes mixing computer equipment with Hummels and fragile items from my deceased mother. And absolute disgrace. My house is in worse shape now than it was right after the claim occurred. I am sharing this here my experience anywhere and everywhere I can to save a homeowner from going through the loss, physical and emotional harm that I'm going through at any expense. If it saves one other family, then I've done my job. Never hire these people. Thank you. read more

This company was a great disappointment. My discarded items were supposed to be logged. I caught them disposing of items of value without logging them and can only imagine what I did not catch. It took weeks for me to get them to come back to unpack. They did not even put boxes in the rooms they came from as they were marked.I still have missing items that were supposed to be saved. I had a much larger estimate from another firm, however when their Project Manager came to my home and surveyed the situation he told me that I did not need 80% of what the other firm estimated. He gave me a favorable estimate, a date/time to start and answered all of my questions. The crew arrived on time and did an amazing job and also vacuumed the entire attic! When I went to inspect the work I was greatly impressed. The Project Manager even allowed me to date the check for April 1st so it would not go into my March budget! After a recent massive rainstorm, my entire unfinished basement was flooded with approx four inches of water. I called several companies for help with removing the water and all the damaged items from the basement. After several days of no call back from any of these companies, I called Crystal Restoration. Just a day later, I received a call from Brian who came out immediately, gave me a very reasonable estimate, and was able to schedule the cleanup for the next day. Nash, the crew leader, and his guys arrived promptly as scheduled and did an amazing job in getting rid of the water, removing all the damaged items, and setting up the dryers and dehumidifer. We were displaced from our home for about 2 weeks due to an electrical fire. Our home had to be cleaned top to bottom. We came home after two weeks to our entire house loaded into large brown boxes on top of our beds. every single possession in our home was thrown into a giant box. After living in a hotel for two weeks we had to come home to a house as if we had just moved into it. About a week later of hardcore unpacking and rearranging all of our belongings, we found several items from our home MISSING WHICH WERE CLEARLY TAKEN. STOLEN FROM OUR HOME in a dire time of need. It looks like the lower reviews for Crystal was for a different project manager named Marc, according to another reviewer. But MY experience was amazing and I'm name dropping!! I hope it helps other people who unfortunately have also gone through a challenging time where remediation was needed. I originally got water remediation done by SERVPRO of Norwalk/Wilton. Horrible experience. It was a huge mistake calling ServePro. I shouldn't have expected any of their branches to be better than the other locations with the worst ratings I've seen. Their crew forgot to take some damaged items that Mark, the project manager, said needed to go. Their crew also assured me that some walls, base molding and fixed pieces didn't need to be taken out. They were wrong!! I was charged a boat load of money only to have several areas of mold grow where Mark's team at ServePro "completed" their work. Luckily, a friend recommended Crystal restoration. The difference was unreal! Dustin, the project manager and Bruce, the man who completed the remediation process, were the best people i could've ever encountered after this type of experience. I am forever grateful. Dustin and Bruce were very thorough and walked me through the affected areas to let me know what needed to happen and gave me back the reassurance i needed in order to know my home would be safe to live in again. Bruce made it a point to show me all the affected areas beforehand, and then showed me how those areas were good to go after he completed the remediation. Both men were personable and didn't treat me like a price tag like my earlier experience. They explained everything that needed to happen and why. When Bruce came out, he made it a point to cover all of the vents and any other surface that need to be covered to avoid exposure to the extensive amount of mold found. I have respiratory issues so this effort was unbelievably appreciated. This was not done by first company at all. I should also mention that Dustin was great at maintaining contact with my insurance agent and always kept me informed which was incredibly helpful. Another detail that i think is worth mentioning is that the sprays Crystal used were much "greener" than what ServePro used. The smell was more mild and only lasted a few hours. VERY different than ServePro who's smelled of a strong chemical that last 5 days. I don't know who Marc at crystal is and why he gets bad ratings. I just know that Dustin and Bruce are good at what they do. As a home owner, these types of situations leave us in a very vulnerable position knowing we NEED help and we can't do anything about it ourselves. We need to trust who we hire are capable, and I was fortunate enough to be assigned a team that was. They were referred by my insurance agent in Southport. The team arrived quickly after the water was turned off. The work was fine, though didn't present in a professional manner. Rusted out truck with what appeared to be at least two generations of a non English speaking family tearing up everything that got wet and more. After a week and $800 in heat and electricity it was dry. The real issue was the contractor that they sold me on that "they work with a lot." So convenient, the thieves called ME the next day. I had a hot water heater let go in finished basement and called crystal restoration. Mark Mastropietro came out within the hour with a crew. They were very professional and were able to save my carpet that I had just installed a few months ago! If they weren't so prompt I probably would have had to replace all the carpet in the basement! I hired Crystal Restoration after my hot water heater leaked water all over my family room. I had Crystal Restoration Service come in to vacuum up all the water. They arrived promptly, but the service I received was poor. After they left, I found that my carpet was still full of water. I had to use my carpet cleaner to suck up the excess water, 5 gallons worth. I did call to notify the company representative Brian of the poor job that was done and was offered a refund of $100. I paid $405.16 to have a company come to my home to perform a service, but sadly did not receive. read more
