Went to Brix wine cellar a few days ago for a little date night and it was so nice! I'd previously…read morecome for a bridal shower and the food was really good so we came back. We ordered the shrimp scampi bruschetta, and the short ribs. The shrimp scampi bruschetta was pretty good, I didn't realize it would be smothered in the shrimp scampi, but honestly, it was pretty good! The short ribs were a real seller! They were tender, they came with mashed potatoes and asparagus, and the sauce was phenomenal!! The ambience is very old Italian, dim it, but very upscale and nice. The food was great, the service was great, and the ambience was perfect for a date night. We will be back!

Live music in…read morethe courtyard was fun to listen to but not overpoweringly loud so we could have a conversation and just relax. There are nearby restaurants for heavier meals because the menu choices are largely snacks. The wine selections were better than average and worth returning to enjoy. Service was very good especially since the place was crowded because it's popular Our serverless and carefully to what we wanted and provided outstanding service by checking with us regularly and also talking to us. Prices are slightly high but that is to be expected in such an elegant location. Attire is upwardly casual.

Bread, charcuterie board, salad, and salmon were soooo good. The only thing I don't recommend is the lemonade. It wasn't very lemon flavored. The waiter were nice and the food came out at a decent time and was still hot even though there were 15+ people there. I enjoyed the musician but it was a tad loud for people trying to talk to each other. We have to shout when the musician is playing their flute. I would return!

This review is long overdue. I ordered Mezzanotte on DoorDash last night -- the spaghetti and…read moremeatballs, which arrived perfectly al dente -- and it reminded me why this place means so much to me. My usual order from the menu when we dine in is the Pappardelle alla Bolognese, my comfort dish and the one authentic recipe I'm proudest of making at home. I'm Italian, raised in a working class, Italian immigrant community very far from Texas. There aren't many options for Italian food in Houston (pretty sure I've tried them all) and this is the only Italian restaurant that truly tastes like the flavors I grew up with. Like my Nonna used to make. Even though the owners aren't Italian, Peruvian I believe, they honor the flavors and traditions better than most places that claim to be. They care enough to get the flavors right and pay real homage to my culture. That means something. It tastes like my Nonna's cooking -- and that's the highest compliment I can give. A tavola non s'invecchia.

The wife and mother-in-law (MIL)...I'm sure you can figure that out (Love her) adjourned (twice..more later) to enjoy an afternoon of champagne, vino, and charcuterie. Next shout is to Daniel (Good name. Not that I am biased) who went out of his way to accommodate M-i-L's dietary restrictions due to acute allergies. Well played sir. Upon their departure we dined...AND RETURNED!! The music selection included a bassist that evening which included the likes of Tool, Alice In Chains, Sublime, classic, contemporary, and all over the place music. Again. Fun. Lucky came to say hola as did both owners. So. What else can I say?!? I BS'd my way through some Greek (not kidding) had lots of wine, fun, and closed out the night. Yes. The wife and M-i-L did come here. Left. Ate. And then the whole Fam came back. Upgrading to a rock solid 5 well-deserved stars. See y'all soon I'm sure.

It's beautiful, the owner is extremely attentive and knowledgeable of the different wine options. They had live music a few good chomping options but such a wide variety of wine and a few beers. We had the spinach artichoke dip, chicken flautas, charcuterie board and a turtle cheesecake for dessert. Everything was great, I would definitely come back here.
