Every time we thought we had seen the whole store, another doorway appeared leading into yet another room packed floor-to-ceiling with candy, retro treats, bizarre novelties, and things I haven't seen since childhood dentist appointments. The layout is less "store" and more "sugar-powered labyrinth." I'm fairly certain there are at least three rooms we never found, and there may be an entire hidden civilization living somewhere behind the gummy bears. You could visit five times and still accidentally discover a new hallway full of international candy bars and rubber chickens. Then there's the pinball arcade, because apparently simply selling every candy on Earth wasn't enough. Nothing says "responsible adulthood" like eating sour belts while aggressively losing at pinball. Unfortunately, we arrived close to closing, which meant we had to speed-run what felt like the world's quirkiest candy maze. We left knowing with absolute certainty that we missed half the place -- possibly an entire wing. Next time we're bringing breadcrumbs, a map, and maybe a sherpa.

On the outside it's advertised as a candy store and also an antique mall. I'm not sure how much of an antique mall it really is, as there wasn't much for sale (though there were a few antiques and oddities mixed into the candy offerings). What this place does offer is room after room of surprise. You're going to find a fully functioning old school soda fountain bar, which honestly was really cool. We didn't stop to eat or drink anything here but I did see folks with ice cream and other treats that looked good. Keep going and you'll find a big room of just about any candy you could imagine. Continue and you might walk into a giant Mike and Sully from Monsters Inc. or a full on pinball arcade. The bigger question should be what DOESN'T this place have? At any rate this was a really fun find, and I'm glad we took the time to wander around and take it all in. If you're visiting Omaha this is a fun thing to explore and tack onto your trip.
