Communication is KEY in a spot like Waffle House, and it was great to see all of the employees clearly speaking (not arguing/fussing/gossiping/etc.) about the work at hand AND keeping each other accountable in a kind and professional way. Everyone was working here: everyone was keeping the line clean, everyone was washing dishes, everyone was bussing their stations, everyone was taking out trash, and everyone was listening to the line cooks. Jabree and Shaudee are killing the game on the grill. Not only are they working in synchronized precision cooking AND filling the prep line, they're calling out to the servers, "Hot food here!" when a prepared plate sits ignored for any more than 5 seconds after they finish making it. At one point, Shaudee called "Hot food here!" two or three times for one plate, then went looking for the server. No cold food on her watch! I wasn't mad! Our server, Morgan, got my order right the first time. She has a great smile, an even better attitude, and was clear with Jabree about how my special request was to be served (I heard her call it twice for confirmation).
