Best place to hang out in Gilberts, which is a small village but it has a few bars. Cruisin' has a car theme going on. It has crap tons of 1950s and other car memorabilia, on the walls. Family friendly too with offerings for kids. The place gets pretty busy weekends as there's events and live music. A surprisingly nice looking bar considering it's also pretty casual. It's clean and looks kept up pretty well to be honest. There's the main area with the bar, lots of tables, along with another room with more tables. Has lots of drink specials to look at. It's about $10 for some of the fancier cocktails, the ones that take a little more effort to put together. Best one of these we had was the Black Cherry Mule. This has black cherry vodka, good stuff. It's about $11 for appetizers. We got the Pretzel Bites, which are good for sharing. Entrees here are pretty meaty. There's burgers, fish, and that kind of stuff. For sure we could come here again. Came for the Friday night fish fry. Had the Lake Perch with clam chowder and a salad. The clam chowder was chunky and delicious. The salad was great with cucumbers, radishes and croutons. The fried perch wasn't over breaded. Fried perfectly. Great fish fry. Our server Jen was quick with refills and efficient. She also checked back and moved us along the dinner process. We've ordered out twice now and been there for the Friday fish fry. Friday gets packed fast but it's so good! Would highly recommend coming on Friday to get the fish. Ordering out has been the problem. Both times they have messed up the order. I've asked for the blue cheese to be removed from my meal and both times it's come with a ton of it on my meal. I'm hoping if I were to order this there and eat it there my order would come correct. I'll keep giving them a chance because outside of my meal coming with a ton of blue cheese, everything else has been great. And going there for the fish fry is totally worth it. read more

I would give this place zero stars if I could, solely based on the front-of-house experience. We were greeted--if you can even call it that--by a blonde hostess whose attitude was absolutely bottom-tier. ​ From the moment we walked in, her demeanor was incredibly rude and dismissive. It's one thing to be busy, but it's another to be a total bitch to paying guests. To make matters worse, she was blatantly lying about wait times just to get people to leave. We watched people walk out after being told a half hour despite never moving up the wait list. ​ The icing on the cake? She wasn't even subtle about talking shit about customers right in front of us. We literally overheard her mocking guests within earshot of the podium. It's unprofessional, classless, and frankly, pathetic. Management needs to check their staff immediately--having someone that toxic as the "face" of your restaurant is a death wish for business. ​ Don't waste your time or money here until they hire someone who actually understands basic human decency. read more

Our curiosity got the best of us. My older sister and I have driven by this restaurant on a number of occasions, and curiosity finally won out. Kenny was our server and being that neither of us had eaten there, he was very helpful in making suggestions as to what was good and what he enjoys. This review is for the atmosphere, not the food. Cruisins has an interesting configuration. The bar is skinny and connects two parts of building. One side is the dining area and the other is a bar-ish area. It's always really dark inside, and the floor is gross. It's really sticky and many of the table tops feel the same way. Someone should blast the lights and bring in a major cleaning crew. Give the place a good once over and see if the atmosphere feels improved. I'm sure it would. It's a fine place if you have a fun group, but otherwise, I would cruise on by. read more

First time here and I just love the look and feel of this place. We came on a good day because they had a car show going on. I like that they have these events. It shows me that community is important to them and they're down for a good time for everyone. Everything inside looks so cool lol I felt like a kid looking around, pointing at everything. We come here often for the Piston Rods. They're so good. The service is always prompt and friendly and the food is always great. Burgers are flame broiled so I know some us like it and some of us don't- the Broasted Chicken is crispy and the steaks are good, too. Overall I haven't had anything I don't like here and I'm super picky. I'm glad they've been able to expand and we will continue to frequent here. read more

Good solid food and cute place! The restaurant seating area is where we sat. Friendly quick service and the food was served nice and hot. Booths are not the most comfortable seating. I had the chicken fajita wrap. It came with lots of guacamole, salsa and sour cream on the side. We recently started going to Cruisin in Gilberts. They had been remodeling in the past year, but now have a lovely dining room. The food is good, and they have daily specials if your looking for something different. I've tried a few of the German special dishes which were very good. The Sunday bbq platter is good and has so much food that I bring home leftovers and my husband has it for lunch. Can't go wrong with the roasted chicken and burgers. This place is a bar with a kitchen. I took my children there the bar was full in the afternoon. The pool table is so close to the tables. You can't use the dart board without bothering the people playing pool. The chairs are wobbly, you feel like me going to break. The food was ok. The server took a long time to come to our table. They have great flavor and are served piping hot with a side of coleslaw, house made chips, and tartar sauce. We ordered the Perch. It's totally worth the extra pennies. Great Route 66 kinda joint. The outside is very unassuming and makes you think you're walking into a local biker bar (which it may very well be) - but it is also a delicious, family friendly restaurant (they had a kids menu). It was empty when we went around 2pm but we were greeted by a warm and welcoming woman behind the bar who also served us. You are also greeted by the old license plates and vinyl record decor, as well as hints of car memorabilia. Definitely takes you back to a stop on Route 66, which is fitting because it is a nice little oasis of delicious food. The Philly cheese steak, BBQ burger, and the grilled cheese our son got were perfect. If you're in the area and hungry definitely give it a try! read more
