Service was friendly and helpful. We rented a 30 ft RV. We bought the insurance just in case we had an emergency. When we received it, it was clean and appeared well cared for, except for an empty windshield wash fluid tank. We had to fill it up. But as we drove it through Arizona we noticed that the cabinets were not well installed and at the end of each drive we would have little piles of sawdust on the countertop in the galley. Some of the sections of subfloor in the storage areas were coming down. Definitely not the highest quality vehicle but it was easy to maneuver around. read more

Had a good first RV experience with Jackie and Cruise America team. Highlights - Received a phone call morning of check in to let me know the timing of when RV would be available. - Replaced tires prior to our rental. The rental was clean and fully serviced. The only issue was the power outlets never worked during the trip. Otherwise, the RV was a delight, easy to drive, and comfortable to sleep in. AC was a champ, perhaps too powerful & we were constantly playing with finding a balance between too hot and too cold. read more

I would absolutely recommend renting an RV from here. They were kind. Quick. Efficient. As a first time RV user, I felt like it was so simple and straight forward. I did use the 1-800 # a couple times as the initial instructions are easy to go in your ear and out but that's what made the customer service number so great. Horrible customer service! And DEAD MICE FOUND INSIDE THE RV!!! Staff (male) is very very inpatient and rude! So so so hard to communicate with! On the day of my returning (Saturday) , I called the staff at 9am, telling him I could not return my RV in time, my EAT would be around 3pm. He told me that fine. But I know they are closed at 3 so I had to remind him they will not open at that time, what do I do? And he was like:" oh... you are right, we close at 1:30, and we stop receiving RVs after 1pm, you will be charged 1 extra night (Saturday Night) " Excuse me??? Why do you need me to remind you???And they phone call was put on hold for 6minutes, I guess they were busy, I will just call later, it was around 1pm, I think I would be less busy around that time so I called again to ask how to self check out, Unfortunately the line was busy from 1pm- 1:30pm the whole time! I even called twice after 1:30pm, still busy. So I had to call Cruise America to ask how to self check out....So I followed the instructions and dropped the RV on that day. I got me my bill on Monday, that I was charged 2 EXTRA nights!! ( Saturday and Sunday nights) That is Not what I was told! I called immediately to them, telling them "1. I called them on Saturday morning, informed them I would be late. 2. I was informed that I will be changed one extra night. " But the answer I got from the staff (same male staff I called on Saturday)was, we are not open on Sundays, you will be charged for Sunday night no matter what, I can't help you! You go call Cruise America costumer service!" He was very very inpatient and rude, I was trying to communicate with him but he kept interrupting me and not listening to what I had to say, and I told him fine let not talk about the bill since you insist this is not your business, but I have something to say that you do need to listen, and he HUNG UP on me!! I tried to call back many time, he probably blocked my number that every time I call their line is busy! So the thing they didn't get to hear but I do wanna ppl who consider rent RVs from them to know is that they have mice inside their RV, our food was stolen by them! If you don't wanna get bitten by them, nor get food poisoned, AVOID this rental company!! And let your friends and families know, Avoid this company!!! read more

We took a trip from LA to the Sequoias last week and stopped in Clovis to pick up our RV. We had a great experience at pick up with Justin. He took the time to answer all our questions and show us how everything worked. We were worried that since our campsite didn't allow generators, and there were no hookups, that we wouldn't be able to use any of the amenities, but we were pleasantly surprised that we were able to use the refrigerator, stove, and water heater that ran off propane, and even the lights! We dropped off the RV on Monday morning and checked out with Jackie. She was also very helpful and made the process very easy. It was a very hot day, and my 10 month old and I stayed inside their air conditioned office and chatted with the staff while my husband finished packing up our car. All in all, we had a great trip and would definitely rent from them again. read more

The RV was in good condition and easy to drive. The customer service was very pleasant, helpful, and patient.

Unfortunately they are not customer oriented. They are quick to get you to sign and trap you into loosing your deposit right away. (Locally) After calling the 800 number, they couldn't care less. We were headed to the desert no hook ups available, and 27 degree temp, being first time renters we are told after we reserved it: You have to drain all the lines at night of water. Cannot run the propane all night (of which both gauges stated 3/4 full and they argued they were full) because it kills the battery in 2 hours. To run propane without the battery you have to run the generator. Generator cost $3.50 hour (you cannot run generator after 8pm - 10am) These were our main concerns. You would think if they were in the business they could take the time to be thorough and take it a step further to assure a first time renter will have a success and want to come back. It ruined Christmas holiday weekend in going somewhere and then loose $300.00. Will Never rent from Cruise America again or recommend. Locally, (Clovs, CA) if it were my business I would stick up for my customer and try to take care of them. They did not. read more

Zero star. I was going to rent the 24 foot RV. I went to check out where to park your private vehicle while renting the RV. So being an investigator for a Federal Agency, I decided to park across the street and just watch the returns as they arrive around 10 am. WOW . The vehicle is parked, the door is opened and left there. Then when the next customer arrives to pick it up, NOTHING WAS DONE TO IT AND NO ONE ENTERED THE UNIT TO CLEAN IT. YUK. After 3 hour surveillance, I went to the run down office and asked to see one. Jackie directed me to the unit whose door was open ( same one that was parked 3 hours earlier). I stepped inside and it was filthy. Seats stained with food, counters dirty and sticky, the wood trim / counters were chipped and wood splintered. Both seats in the cab were down right scummy. It was really apparent that no ONE touched this RV. people, if you go to Yosemite rent from a very clean, honest, reliable person in Oakhurst. Do not rent from Cruise America in Clovis, California. I saw cleaner quarters in the US Military. read more

The RV was ready to pickup ahead of scheduled time. The RV was exactly what we expected. It is a basic RV, plain and simple. Nothing fancy, no frills rental. It was not dirty. It will not pass a white glove treatment, if your picky like me mop and sweep it to your standards. It was bare bones empty. That means you bring everything you need with you. We did not expect anything more. We brought our own linens, towels,rugs, paper towels, cooking utensils and cookware. It had a good microwave, stove, air conditioner and generator. We think it is best to rent, take to your home and load all you need. The staff was friendly and professional. We will return next year! We are not novice RV's. We have an RV at the coast. This was more convenient for this trip. read more

This outlet in Clovis for Cruise America has terrible customer service and we will NEVER rent from them again. When picking up a 30-ft RV we told them we had a hitch-rack bike carrier and planned to bring bikes on our vacation. We stopped to pick up our bikes in Lake Tahoe only to discover the hitch is locked and they deliberately withhold the key WITHOUT TELLING YOU WHEN YOU PICK UP THE RV! You have to ask for the hitch lock key in advance when you rent the RV. How on Earth would anyone renting an RV know in advance that the hitch is locked? The hitch lock itself is small and you have to get on your knees and peer down the hitch shaft to see it. When we called they had the audacity to say it was our fault and if we cut off or removed the hitch lock we would have to pay for it. These people are incompetent jerks and I urge anyone renting an RV to stay away. read more

We had a very positive experience renting an RV here for five days in Yosemite - our first RV experience. I called Jackie with questions several times before our trip and she was always helpful. Our RV was spotless and well-appointed. Also, they said all of their RVs are at least as new as 2016, which makes a difference. I had shopped around for a good deal on an RV rental, looking extensively through RVShare.com and other rental companies. We got a GREAT deal through CruiseAmerica, paying significantly less than we would have elsewhere. (Like, $600 for five days including taxes, generator use and mileage, and $50 of the $600 was because we came back several hours late.) When we arrived, Jackie walked us through everything and had us on our way quickly. We parked our car (for free) across the street and were on our way. We rented bikes for the family at The Bike Shop @ Woodward and drove up to Yosemite. We cleaned out the RV when we returned and received our security deposit back no problem. The RV itself was their five-person version and my four-person family was very comfortable. The beds were fine and everything worked well, from the stove to the fridge/freezer to the generator to the microwave. We never used the shower, but it looked fine. Driving it takes some getting used to because it's unwieldy, but not that hard. You just have to pay extra attention to the road and use the turnouts when people want to pass you. There's plenty of storage in a space under the RV. You'll need to bring EVERYTHING, from pots and pans to blankets, sheets and pillows, though I think there are kits you can rent from CruiseAmerica. In any case, I recommend this location highly. They're nice people and never seemed like they were out to get us with hidden fees or charges. Have fun! read more

The 25 foot RV I rented had a broken rooftop air conditioner that blew warm air. When we picked it up the engine's AC was on so I didn't realize the rooftop a/c was not working. Tried to call the 800 and after a half hour it offered to let me leave a voicemail and then was told voicemail was full. I won't be renting from them again. read more

Be prepared to deal with dishonest people. We rented an RV for 3 days: 6/16 through 6/19. We left it in the driveway on 6/18 and put the key in the drop-off box. Nevertheless, we were charged $25 for being one hour late. I spoke to Jackie over the phone. She told me that the record shows that the RV was returned at 12:20pm on 6/19, i.e. after the deadline of 11am. She refused to refund us $25 even when I told her that the record was wrong and the RV was returned on 6/18, not on 6/19. They also charged us $50 for cleaning. I told Jackie that the RV was clean when we returned it, and it was in the same condition when we had picked it up. I asked her to provide us with photos showing that it was not clean. She said she had no photos and again refused to refund $50. "We charged $50, so it must have been dirty," she explained. "Well, you charged us $25 for late fees even though we were not late," I responded. During the inspection, we were assured that we do not need to do much cleaning at all: "Don't worry about it, guys." Lack of any photos and adamant refusal to refund even $25 in late fees strongly indicate that this is their customary practice regarding customers who return RVs after hours. Cruise America was a great experience for our first time taking an RV out as a family. We drove 4000 miles from Clovis CA, all the way to South Dakota and back. We drove to 10 states in 14 days. The RV ran well and gave us no trouble. It was easy to drive for first timers and easy to hook up. Our only complaint would be it didn't look like it had been washed before we got it on the outside. The inside was clean but had a lot of wear and tear. The reason we chose Cruise America is the affordability and that they will give road-side assistance anywhere in the US. Overall we were happy and it was a wonderful family trip. Now we want to buy one! read more

We rented a motor home over thanksgiving holiday to go to Utah. It was petty much the motel 6 of motor homes. I can deal with normal wear and tear for a rental. That's to be expected. But what is not expected is things to be broke. Almost every privacy curtains had rips and tears. The handle on the door going into the living space was broke so it was much work to open and close the door every time we used it. Several cabinet latches were broke so we had to find make shift ties so they wouldn't fly open while driving. The couch that was supposed to be able to lay out into a bed was broke so it could not be slept on as a bed so my elderly father in law had to sleep on it as a small couch. Something was wrong with the LP/carbon monoxide detector so it would go off in the middle of the night keeping us up all night several nights. When we were picking the unit up the women running the office was in a hurry to get home so she just rushed through the tour. That's probably why we didn't see all this stuff before we left. For as much money as we paid for this trip we should not have had to deal with these issues. We will not ever be renting from them again. read more
