I finally called Arena Rv park in Chowchilla and got a reservation the first try. I wanted to stay in Madera so we could be close by to visit a family friend. You can't have a good business if nobody answers the phone! PS. they have no website.

Unlike our forest campsite, we had full hookups, internet and cell worked great at the park. My husband was concerned about the neighborhood but we had no problems. The manager was gracious and greeted us and wished us farewell. The pool was lovely and shaded much of the day which was great in the 109 temps. The showers and baths were very nice and commented on by all in the group. It was a bit of a drive into Sequoia park, but it's still very doable. About 2 hours to the main attractions. We had dinner at the Sequoia Brewing Company which we'd recommend- see review. While this wasn't our first choice, it was very nice and still allowed us to get into the park.

Over the year we had absolutely no issues with our personal belongings or management. They took care of the lawn, bushes and flowers very well. It was brand new and very clean and spacious for our family. While I was at this gas station, I witnessed one of the owners, a male, yelling at a young female worker and cussing her out right in front of customers. It was uncomfortable, awkward, and showed a complete lack of professionalism or respect for both staff and customers. When I tried to step in and speak up, Lori, who is another owner I'm assuming, turned on me and shockingly called me a "curry munching pig." Not only was this incredibly offensive and racist, but it also shows how little regard they have for public optics or basic decency. No business should treat their employees (or their customers) like this. I will not be returning here, and I strongly recommend others think twice before supporting a business that behaves this way. I come around the same time that this one girl works which is during the night, but yesterday I came in around 2:00pm. Thank god I came in because as I come in I see the owner walk in. This led me to believe that I would be getting special service or better service since the crew might want to be better in front of the owner. Little did I know, the owner was the one who needed to fix up. He came in yelling at a staff member who I regularly meet on my way back from work at the Subway and she is such a sweet girl who could never harm anyone! The owner was going on full blast on her in front of everyone which is EXTREMELY UNACCEPTABLE! If you have a complain about a staff member, it needs to be done behind closed doors. The girl had made the argument that this was also the first time being addressed about the complaint as well! Overall just completely baffled at the scene I had to witness and I rate this place 0/5 stars but unfortunately the site has saved them and forced me to rate 1 star (not good). It should be 1 star (absolutely terrible).
