Not bad. Not my normal type of place. Music was super loud. Had to yell to hear someone sitting right next to you. The DJ was very good though. Our waitress was nice and checked on us often. The food was good. We got tacos and Rasta pasta. The drinks were STRONG, GOOD and welllll worth the money. The hookah was of very good quality. Not ashy and strong .. it was very smooth and great flavor. We had the Love 66 flavor. They close at midnight so at 1145 the security went around turning off TVs , lights on our table etc. that was a huge turnoff and just not a good look. All in all. Decent spot. I attended the soft opening of the highly anticipated Cru Lounge located in Northwood. Let's just say this spot has a lot of improving to do. The food wasn't all that great - took way too long to come out and too salty. The Rasta pasta was overbearing with Jerk seasoning, unfortunately we sent it back to the kitchen in replacement with chicken wings (mild + lemon pepper). The menu is pretty limited, if I recall correctly it was like 10 options. The best thing out of my experience visiting here was the drinks. They were strong & looked pleasing to the eye. I usually always get hookah when I'm out, and this was by far the worse I've had. Within the first 15-minutes or so, we asked to get the hookah readjusted as it was way too harsh to use. After it was fixed, within the next 20-minutes or so the same exact thing happened. At that point I did not care to use it and spent $40 for nothing. Reservations aren't mandatory, but highly recommended especially on busy nights. Please be aware that each reservation has a 2-hour max, so prepare to be rushed. If you do not have a booth or high top reservation, you will have to stand up near or at the bar.... Fun. There is street parking & empty lots nearby (park at your own risk) - I would recommend carpool or ride share. Overall, this place could easily be the #1 lounge in town, if they consider all the improvements mentioned. read more

Since the grand opening I have not been able to click on a friends Instagram story without seeing someone at Cru any given night of the week. This company's marketing is on brand for the crowd they cater to. Free hookah Mondays, $2 tacos on Tuesday's, Sunday brunch & half off cocktails for happy hour Monday-Friday from 7pm-9pm. This past Friday I finally had the opportunity to check it out for myself. I arrived around 9:30. My friends saved me a seat at the bar so I didn't have to worry about standing around or waiting for a table reservation. There is no other seating if you don't have a reservation so plan accordingly. Table reservations have a 2 hour maximum so please also keep in mind service will be rushed so they can turn the table over for other guests. This Friday was less busy than expected. All tables and the bar were full but it wasn't as packed as I expected. Service at the bar was stellar. The ladies are very attentive & make great cocktails (crutails, as they're called here). Dice is one of my favorite bartenders so it was a relief seeing her behind the bar. I knew the drink wouldn't disappoint & trust me, I only needed one! They utilize a QR code, paperless menu. The menu options are slim. 11 items to be exact but the menu does advertise these options as "small plates" so it's fitting. After perusing the menu the only items that called to me were the wings & the Rasta pasta. I asked a few of my friends what they ordered & the Rasta pasta was consistently raved about so that's what I settled on. I opted for the salmon & shrimp Rasta pasta & I ordered a coke. Total including the preset 18% gratuity was $32.50 (not including the cocktail), not bad. Portion size was perfect for the price. The salmon was perfectly cooked. The shrimp is cut into chunks but even still I don't think they skimped on the portion size. Pasta was VERY flavor but not overly salty or spicy. There is a hint of sweetness which was new but definitely took the dish over the top. I'm not a huge fan of peppers & onions but the sauce was so good I was tearing them up before I even realized what they were. Second best Rasta pasta I've had in the city hands down. (Mellow munchies food truck & renegades on Sunday night are close competition). The hookah here is the WORST I've EVER had. I took a few puffs & gave up trying to enjoy it. We went here on a Sunday brunch, they were pretty dead, with only two other table occupied. We first ordered the 35 dollar mimosa carafe which the server said was a bottle of champagne with Oj. The mimosas came in a pre-mixed carafe that served me and my girlfriend two glasses each which to me was a rip off. Then we learned about the towers which we then ordered because we obviously didn't have enough w the carafe. We were told the tower would be like a mimosa w extra liquor. It ended up being like some mixed drink and you could barely taste the oj and champagne. I asked if they could bring the price down if they gave us less in the tower, because we had already bought the "carafe" they brought it down 15 dollars, which was nice but we didn't see that change on the final bill. I got the breakfast burger. My girlfriend got the shrimp and grits. The burger came w chips which I asked to get breakfast potatoes instead which was said i could substitute for but did not mention an up charge. The potatoes and grits came out cold, they charged me extra for the potato's and the ketchup came out in packets which I asked more of and they were still stingy when they brought more out. The shrimp and grits were good, but everything also came out on plastic plates with everything disposable. Earlier we asked for water they came out w a bottle of Fuji water which I wasn't informed of and the server said they don't do tap/soda water. Overall, we got a water, two entrees, one w the side of potatoes, the carafe and the discounted tower,our bill came out to 184....... like what????? I think there was an already included tip but I wasn't told that, I added a 7% which was the highest suggested, I regret the entire experience, the environment was dead, the prices sucked, the waitress didn't inform us of all the upcharging. I live in this neighborhood and a big thing about Northwood is it's value for their community. So seeing a franchise show up that doesn't give a crap about their customers inclines me to think they won't stick around too long. read more

Came to visit Cru since all I've been seeing on my timeline is them. I went on a Saturday night and when i tell you getting there early is most definitely suggested the line to get in was longggg. Me and my girls got a table, I tried their lemon pepper hot wings and they were amazing. My friend had got the lobster Mac and cheese and ill definitely be getting that when i return. My server was super friendly and attentive and helped with any questions and concerns we had. Do be aware that there is a 2 hour time limit on the table but that wasn't a big problem didn't feel rushed at all. The music had everyone in there dancing and having a good time. We ordered a hookah and it was perfect not too harsh and nice big clouds. Definitely was worth it and the hookah came out fast and the hookah girl was friendly and helpful if we needed any coals and refills. If i were to give any critiques please add mozzarella sticks to the menu. let me start off by saying Palm Beach County NEEDED this place. first of all, the environment and ambiance is a vibe for sure. I love the green aesthetic. definitely gives you a comfy/homey vibe. The staff is filled with very beautiful girls. They're all so welcoming and truly make sure you're enjoying yourself. The food and drinks are top tier. like this should not be allowed lol. Didn't have a host/hostess. Took thirty minutes for the waitress to come, at times she did forget to check on us. I don't know how when it was only eight consumers in the restaurant, then the bill came out to 90$ after having three drinks (39$) and shrimp and grits (16$).
