Got a gift card for this place so we went. Sat by the bar area which was nice. It was chilly in there though. Called ahead for a reservation on a Friday night. Glad I called. Our server was very friendly and polite. Always saying thank you after every interaction. Had the cup of chowder and half of lobster roll. It came with fries. Everything was delicious. The roll had chunks of lobster and not a lot of mayo. We asked for the fries be cooked well and they were perfect. The soup was hot and flavorful. Prices were within reason. Will be back!! read more

I can't say enough about how we were treated here. My mother died and we had to find a place without having any idea how many might show in 2 days time. We told them 35. They graciously accommodated the 51 who showed up. The service was beyond excellent. The food was great. They went above and beyond in everything: high chairs, wheelchairs, walkers. Went to Crows Nest for the first time since the renovations and new ownership. Highly disappointed in the food. Not anywhere near as good as it was before. Had lobster roll that was tasteless and scanty. The fries were extra batter or extra fried, not what they used to be. The clam cakes were tasteless. All of those same foods I have had with the old Crows Nest and they tasted excellent. Won't be a customer of Crows Nest again, unless they make big changes and advertise their newer and better menu. I don't see this establishment making it as time goes on. read more

My first time to Rhode Island and we found this searching on Yelp. My mother got the scallops, which she said were delicious. My daughter and partner both got the fish and chips and said it was some of the best fish they have ever eaten. However, I wanted to try a couple of things I have never had so I got the clam cakes and stuffed quahog. They were absolutely delicious. I also got the New England clam chowder and it was the best I have ever eaten. We liked it so much we are going back for dinner this evening! read more

This place was the most disappointing thing since i almost killed my dad skiing and to be completely honest i would have rather experienced that again then eat this cold lobster. The lobster was more cold then a cooler on a ski mountain, i have ate ice hotter than that. I bet they pulled this lobster from antarctic waters and put it on a plate. When we said it was cold they came back with it ran under hot water. i have no idea how this is possible it is to be that bad of chef it might even be a superpower to be that bad at cooking and along side the cold lobster it wasn't even seasoned. For $55 a lobster that was cold unseasoned and tasted worse than dog food i wouldn't come here if my life depended on it. I would eat a brick over this cold unseasoned lobster. They offered us free dessert but we couldn't stand being in that joke of a restaurant one more second. Don't come here please and if you do please i'm begging you don't order their overpriced janky lobster. read more

We went there many times in the past when I lived in Warwick. Food was good and so was the atmosphere. I don't live in Warwick any longer and was looking for a seafood dinner before I left and went home. I decided to go the whole nine yards and ordered a whole stuffed lobster. (By the way I have had lobster many times at other places.) There was a burning smell and I kiddingly said it was probably my lobster. When the lobster was brought out the claws were blackened and could not be crushed with the nutcracker. The tail was unable to be chewed (over cooked). They couldn't even crack the claws. Needless to say I was extremely disappointed. They replaced it with baked scrod which was excellent. They should never have served me that horrible burned lobster. read more

Just stopped by for lunch and what a treat! Four of us ate. I had a burger and potato salad, two had clam cakes and chowder, and one had salmon... ALL were delicious, the portions (tho' "small lunch size" were more like dinner size) and extremely reasonable in price. Drinks were also 25% cheaper than most anywhere else. Ambiance: 2 stars; Food quality 4 stars; portion size: 5 stars. As you drive down the little road leading to this place you will wonder if you made a mistake! I was not sure I wanted to get out of the car. The place itself looks OK, but the neighborhood and unpaved parking lot are off putting. I went in anyway. Most of the reviews talk about the seafood, but I had the chicken parmigiana with pasta and a side salad. The chicken was tender and flavorful. The tomato sauce was rich and thick. The salad had two kinds of lettuce plus carrots, cucumbers, onions, tomatoes and croutons. All in all a very good meal. And the portions we're huge! Easily two meals worth. So, for the price, a good deal. Service was fast and friendly. Perhaps a bit too friendly. I have no been "honey"ed so much since I left Georgia! A big negative... Too much plastic! The "doggie bag" was a plastic bowl with a plastic lid in a plastic bag! Come on folks, we really need to reduce plastic use! read more

I've come here on and off for decades.Typically, a good meal and service.. tonite ... not so much..restaurant was not to busy, ordered steamers and a cup of chowder.. food came right away... very good quality ... I ordered pasta w red clam sauce, my wife schrod and double veggies.. The server seemed a bit inattentive.. the meal took forever to come out of the kitchen.When questioned, the server said there was a big party in the other room and the kitchen was very busy. Finally the food came. My wife's meal was superb and even had fresh veggies! My meal was bland, the sauce watery and tasteless. The pasta was rubbery.. Our tip reflected the meal..below average (and we typically tip very very well)! On our way out I glanced into the other dining room to eyeball the "big party"..There was none.. restaurant was about 40% full.. Quite disappointed in the experience... Will I return to this restaurant .. Sure. But not right away.. why go back you may ask? Because it's The Crow's Nest.. that's why! Their reputation gets them a pass on this unfortunate experience. I don't know how this restaurant got 4 Star RED rating!!! This was the worst seafood that I've had in a very long time. I ordered the baked seafood dish which had more stuffing than you could imagine. If the stuffing was good ,that would be a different story. The stuffie tasted like all bread and NO clams. The most I would give this experience is a 3. The pricing is outrageous for seafood. I've gotten better seafood in Narragansett and other places like Chelos, George, iggys better and cheaper. The service was ok at beginning but we had to track someone down for a soda refill and they never came back after bringing the meal. It has gone down hill for sure. I recently took my family to dine at the Crows Nest for a small celebration. I made a reservation since I have heard they typically have a wait. I reccommend making a reservation since the restaurant was very full with quite a line by the time we were finished dining. The decor is an old New England charming. The floors are crooked and the dining room has a fireplace with round tables overlooking the water. There are smaller rooms with tables as well. We were seated right away on our arrival. Our food was very good I had one of the seafood specials which was perfect. Overall our service was OK, we did have to ask a couple of times for things, but we did eventually get what we needed. They did make some substitutions without any issues, which is always greatly appreciated. Overall the food was excellent and the price was very reasonable. I will definately go back and would reccommend the Crow's Nest. read more

This is a very solid seafood restaurant. Unassuming and cozy atmosphere with excellent service. Went on Monday with my parents...they both had the baked stuffed shrimp and I had the shrimp and scallops scampi over rice. Food was fantastic as was our server. Cudos to him and the kitchen. Will definitely be coming back for another visit...it's now on my "go to" list. We went on a Sunday evening and after reading my fellow Yelpers, made sure to get there early (5pm). Good call, we only had a 5 minute wait (by the time we left, holy cow there was a line!) Server was 5 stars all the way. She was awesome. Friendly but with some teasing/attitiude - just right for us. love. Place did have a fair share of older folks, but also lots of families with kids, so a good mix. Nice family vibe. Great views of the harbor, so try to sit at the windows if you can. Food was mostly very good with a few mehs thrown in just to keep this from being a lovefest 5 star review. Items to try: Calamari app - hands down some of the best we've had in RI. Clamcakes - yummy turkey dinner - real turkey, real good Meh: Baked seafood dinner - not bad, but the fish and scallops were buried under a pile of crumbs...just kinda offputting Fish and chips - I expected this to be a standout and it wasn't. The fish was soft but not in a good way...it was almost mushy. It didn't taste off or bad so I didn't send it back, but I've had so much better elsewhere. On other tables the chicken pot pie looked AMAZING as did the lobstah roll. We'll definitely go back and try some of those dishes (but trust me, my hubbie is getting that calamari again!). read more

Stop # 13 The Crow's Nest has the Red Lobster motif complete with fishing rods and pictures of the sea and sea creatures. Of course, being by the waterfront lends a great deal of credibility to this place. The Crow's Nest is a good place to eat but hardly the famed seafood shacks that New England's famous for. The steamers are very tasty - dip to wash and you're good to go. I like it because its simple with the mere addition of garlic, white wine, herbs, and salt. However, I have mixed feelings about the fixings. There's an eerie feeling that the beets are probably canned and the mashed potatoes perhaps instant. Maybe I'm thinking too much but it seems overcooked, lacking in cream, or perhaps it was sitting out too long. With regards to the lobster, stick with the steamed option instead of the broiled option. The breading is tasty but it smothers the lobster. After all, isn't that what you're paying for? Broiling a lobster drys it out more and loses a lot of the flavor in the process. Stick with simple, fresh seafood and you can't go wrong. Also, don't expect a sophisticated wine list. The Crow's Nest is rather pedestrian with its Kendal Jacksons and Yellow Tail. Overall, I enjoyed the meal but I'm not convinced its the best seafood that New England has to offer. I had high hopes for Crows Nest- hidden away in a marina and right in the water, their location is gorgeous. But when I stepped inside and sat down, it was a flashback to an Jersey diner- and not really a good one. The staff here was very nice. They were lovely and took great care of us. The food, on the other hand, is mediocre at best. We started off with some clam chowder and clam cakes. The chowder was fine, if a little underseasoned, but the clam cakes were dense and mostly bread- there was hardly and clam. But they didn't taste bad, just okay. Then we had the clams casino. That was easily the worst dish I've had in a while- the whole thing was mush. Literally, I took it out of the shell and it was pure mush. It tasted a little sour, and we sent it back right away. Our server was apologetic and took it off our bill without our asking. Finally, for our meals I had the lobster roll and my boyfriend had the fried seafood dinner. Mine was okay. The fries were crispy and the lobster took was alright, if a little uninspired. His was a step down- everything was fried alright, but it was bland. Neither was worth the price they were charging- $20 for his and $17 for mine. Overall, the staff is nice, but the food seems to be catered to 80 year olds. As visitors from Colorado, we were looking for a place where we could have a giant lobster lunch. Due to some unique circumstances with the weather as it was the day after a recent nor'easter in New England, we were driving back to Boston from the Mohegan Sun and were looking for a place that had indoor seating and overlooked the water and served Lobster, even though its is off season for lobster. We found the Crow's Nest in Warwick. The food/lobster was excellent and we even had quite a variety of other tempting seafood dishes to choose from. The staff was friendly and brought our orders quickly. We found out afterward, the restaurant was running on generator power as the storm knocked out power to the area the day before which makes the fact the food was fresh, flavorful and warm, drinks were cold and everyone was still smiling, including other patrons. Some of these reviews are crazy. People ordering cheesesteaks and chicken parm? What did you expect? This is a seafood place people. The Crows Nest is a destination for the 65+ crowd and there are a ton of elderly regulars. The second you walk in you're greeted by a sea of walkers, wheelchairs, oxygen tanks, etc. The food here is pretty good. It isn't an oyster or Chilean sea bass type of seafood place. Basically they specialize in clam cakes, fish and chips, scallops, calamari ... all kinds of deep fried seafood. I have had the fish and chips here numerous times and it's always good. The lobster salad roll is also really good and it's a pretty large portion of lobster. If you're in the mood for fried seafood this is a good spot and it's a fun laid back experience. read more

Went here for some dinner. Of course, lobster. Place could use a once over with a clean bar rag and a friendlier staff. Maybe I just got seated with the old soldier waitress whom no one could bring themselves to fire. She seemed severely bothered by having to serve my wife and I. But I usually tend to overlook surly staff. I've been there myself and I know it's not all smiles when serving the public. However since I have been there I know that I as a patron, am a dream. I pretty much bus my own table, over tip and do not antagonize the waitperson. So why the waitress was cranky through the entire meal with my wife and myself I can't figure out. In any case, the overpriced lobster meal came. I was particularly excited because I used to have lobster every weekend years prior from a restaurant in Newport Beach, CA and knew what good lobster was and my wife had never had lobster before so I kept telling her she was in for a treat. After all, if anyone should be able to cook lobster right it should be the northeast coast. Let's just say, the cooks here need some training. Just boiling a lobster, throwing it on a plate with some Velveeta cheese on overcooked broccoli on the side doesn't cut it. Have some self respect. The plate screamed 'this is just a paycheck for me' and tasted like a boiled crawdad. Wife ended up sick and throwing up all night because of it, too. Thanks for that. read more

We live not too far away, but have never been to The Crow's Nest til this past Saturday. They don't take reservations unless you have an unusually large party, but they do have a call-in system, whereby you call ahead at 5:00 pm (this was for a Saturday night, and the place was PACKED!) put your name on their list for the time you'd like to arrive, then arrive on time and you will be seated ahead of those who just show up - we had a 15 minute wait, which was totally acceptable. Now, for the important information: Our waitress, Laurie (LS) was perhaps the best waitress I have ever encountered in RI! She was friendly, nice, fast, efficient, helpful and did I say nice and lovely! The place was packed, every table full, and she took the time to comply with every single request, pronto. She even brought one of my lobster claws back to the kitchen to crack for me, when I had a little difficulty. She tied my lobster bib around my neck. They don't come much better than Laurie!! Also important information: The food was fabulous. I can see why the restaurant was packed. I had the lobster dinner and my hubby had a bouillabaisse-type dish chock filled with huge pieces of shellfish, with red sauce, served over linguine. Both meals were fantastic. They came with choice of soup or salad, potato and vegetable. My baked potato was SO perfect - really baked, not microwaved like I usually have at my house! :-). The spinach side dish was so great, I wish I knew how it was made, and my lobster was succulent. Our chowder was delicious - we both ordered the red. I had some of my hub's dinner and I am for sure ordering it next time. I also had a vodka gimlet which was really wonderful and it came with a little extra portion served in a little bottle (which I do not know the name of!) and which I love because it feels like I am getting two drinks!! In summary, I think you can't go wrong dining at The Crow's Nest. Great food, great service, and not too expensive prices. read more

I went to this restaurant last night for my mom's birthday. It is one of her favorites so we gave it a try. First impression was that the atmosphere was super loud. I did not care for the fact that we had to yell to hear each other. When we sat, our waitress was very casual and you could tell she had been there for a long time. When we ordered, she asked about sides and mentioned broccoli au groton. My fiancé said yes but without the cheese - her response was very cocky "So you want steamed broccoli not broccoli au groton". My biggest pet peeve is when a waitress corrects a customer and makes them feel belittled. All she had to say was "Okay". When we got out fried calamari, I did not like the fact that it came with tartar sauce instead of marinara sauce. For a seafood place, I was surprised. I ordered the stuffed chicken for my entree and did not like it at all. It was too dry and bland. The broccoli au groton (with cheese) was amazing though! My mom had a great birthday and thoroughly enjoyed her veal cutlet with gravy (which I stole half because I didn't like mine). I've been looking for a nice family style restaurant preferably on or near the water to have lobster, year round. I believe just after one visit to the Crow's Nest this might be that restaurant! We enjoyed a lobster lunch on a Monday recently with my brother from out of town. The service was wonderful! The lobster - perfect. Plenty choices of sides. I never eat corn on the cob that accompanies the lobster and here I ordered the broccoli and rice as my sides and I ate them both. The steamers were not sandy and cooked in a garlic, white wine broth. I also tried the red clam chowder and enjoyed it. The white was good as well! The view is of a marina, ducks swimming near the boats all and all a very pleasant area. Parking is a private lot. We ate in the large dinning room, nautical was the theme from pictures of boats to shell garland placed in plants. I did notice a large bar area off to the left as we entered the dinning room, I will check that out next time. read more

Strolled in for the first lobster roll of the season (and my first time here) on an April Saturday at about 7:30. Walked I. To a full waiting area filled mostly with the 'blue hair' crowd and a 30+ minute wait. I peeked into the very full bar just to find one couple getting up and we snagged the only open seats. At this point I was ready to embrace the slightly older (those are gentle words) scene for this well anticipated lobster roll! Warm buns and a fresh salad later, the she came...loaded to the brim on more of a small grinder roll (not a hot dog bun) and lightly mayoed I enjoyed several large chunks of fresh lobster and left filled to the brim. And get this, the stuffed lobster roll is only $15.95 - cant beat it! Nothing fancy but good food and fresh lobster rolls and who knows what else.
