NOTE - this is a long post, but if you have jewelry repair needs, please read!…read more My quest started when one of the tiny diamonds fell out of my engagement ring. When this happened a year prior, I took the ring to a major diamond retail store and was quoted $150.00 to replace the tiny diamond, and replace it's setting. I paid the amount and had my ring repaired. The lady asked if I wanted the "coating" replaced - I asked if it was necessary; she told me "no" but sometime in the future I would need it done. Fast forward to last week. Another one of the tiny stones fell out. I took the ring back to the same major retailer. After examining the ring, they told me that ALL of the tiny stones were in jeopardy of falling out - like dominoes. They said that one of the stones in the "halo" part of the ring was also in jeopardy of falling out and they would ALL follow - again like dominoes. They said as part of the repair I would HAVE to re-coat the ring in what I now know is "rhodium." The grand total was $380.00. I left the store in a daze of sticker-shock. I Googled and Yelped a jewelry repair store right around the corner from my house - League City Gold, Diamond, and Fine Jewelry. I met with one of the owners, Cheryl, who examined my ring. I told her what the previous store said HAD to be done to repair my ring. After examining it, Cheryl said she could NOT see what they were talking about, but would run the ring through a machine that will "jiggle" to test for loose diamonds. She said if anything fell out, they would put the stone back and repair its prong. When I asked about the coating, she said that rhodium is REALLY expensive ($25,000 per ounce!) and that is where retail stores like to "upsell" is by recommending the coating. I asked Cheryl what she thought my drive out price would be - she said $125.00!! That included if they had to repair any prongs AND that included re-coating the rhodium. (Cheryl also educated me that there is no such thing as "white gold" - only yellow gold coated in rhodium, which wears off with regular wearing of the jewelry.) I picked the ring up from Cheryl this morning (which was only 2 days repair time). She said they had put the ring in the "jiggle machine" for OVER 2 hours and not one additional stone had fallen out! When I asked my total price she said $67.00 - and that included rhodium coating!!! Folks, if you are looking for an HONEST local jeweler and one that does REASONABLY priced repair work - I would highly recommend League City Gold, Diamond, and Fine Jewelry!! (I have attached a picture of my ring below) If I could give them a dozen stars, I would! Thank you again Cheryl! Lisa & Howard Smith League City, TX

You'll never find the jeweler to perform the "annual inspection and maintenance." I put a…read morethree-star for the manager and sales guy that sold us the jewelry and they're not there anymore, so... Greeted(?) by the bouncer who didn't know I had an appointment, not really an issue for someone like me but I figured they would know of appointments and if the jeweler was in. Which is what the front desk asked with an inquisitive bad attitude that was clearly pointed towards the bouncer. Anyway, you'll never get the jeweler. My wife has been able to get ahold of the jeweler a total of 3 times in the eight years we've been married. She should have been able to see him at least 8 times including today, right? Believe me, she puts in the effort and I'm done hearing about it. About my wife's wedding ring bumming her out, I'm tired of hearing about it. About an agreement that was contractually made and not being fulfilled, get it? Yall aren't running the store correctly if all you have is one jewelry technician. And it does seem as though they only have one guy there, said he was off attending training... he's off Sundays and Mondays, and don't make a reservation online, it's better to call. I mean, are you running a business or doing what the jewelry tech who's in training (and according to some other reviews he's not that good) says? This location is in the middle of Baybrook Mall area, it's not a cheap area. Having the bouncer at the door and not at a clipboard with additional responsibilities might be a myopic take. Are yall going to be the first store that drags down the value of the area? You gonna tank a jewelry business you've been blessed with and the surrounding area with it? Doesn't sound like people who should be responsible trading diamonds and large quantities of revenue. Sounds like you're not appreciating the blessing you have. Why would I shop there with a bunch of people who can't see the good things they have in their face? How are they going to take care of the things they promise me if they can't handle scheduling? Oh, wait! They didn't take care of my things they said they would! Silly me, this store is already like that! How could I miss that while typing it down! Haha, lol.... It's not great, they're so ready for thieves they forgot they sell services and jewelry.

I have had my bands put together and it was done so badly- not only does it make my ring set look terrible, it's actually broken. We took it in yet again today- we were really hoping to see about getting some type of credit to upgrade my entire set (aka they would've probably made more money off of us) however they refused to do anything except fix it again. This experience has been frustrating, time consuming and down right ridiculous.
