My second time here. I walked in, no wait, paid $70 total, including all fees, for a smog test. As expected, my car passed with flying colors. No issues at all. The staff was professional, and there's a comfortable waiting area so you don't have to sit outside in the sun. No complaints. I'd recommend this place and will use them again. read more

Crown Smog Test Only - Smog Check Stations Near Me - Lakewood, California

It's a little tricky to get to the Smog test building. You need to enter through the vacuum lane rather than the car wash lane. I've been going here for years, I have made appointments in the past and this time I just went there. A car pulled in just before me, but I only had to wait 25 minutes. Very honest and the price was right. I hate to give up this location because now everybody else will want to go there, but it's worth it. read more

Don't bother if you happen to have a catalytic converter shield!!! Unless I could prove that my replacement for stolen catalytic converter was a "Toyota part" the tech would not perform smog check. WTF? Of course it was - I waited 5 months for the part because I was told after market part would not pass CA smog test. Isn't that the point - to pass the test? He wouldn't even try. Took it to another shop - no questions, passed the test and was on my way. read more

They were rude expensive and lied on three occassions. And didnt know why my car didnt pass other than just saying it didnt pass take it to a mechanic. And then wanted to charge me for a retake. It all just felt scammish. Wouldnt go back. read more

Crown Smog took good care of me and I was in and out and I passed. Was a little hard to find as it's hiding just behind the car wash.

Came in for a smog check, it was pretty fast no longer than 15 minutes. I printed out a coupon online 29.95 plus a free car wash. I had to pay for the certificate fee which came out to $40.00 I was a little upset because I was trying to find where to start to get my car washed. The guy who did my smog check told me to go to the middle where the guy was standing which I guess was where they vaccum, went there and he told me I need to go to where they were drying the cars, went there and he told me I needed to go around so I was like wtf looking really stupid going in circles...-_- so one of them finally took my car and got it washed within 5mins. They did a good job except I didn't get my car vaccumed :( I didn't really care at that point I just wanted to leave because I was so embarrassed but yet happy that I finally got my car washed! read more

This was the only place in Lakewood that was able to smog check my 1991 Nissan 300 ZX twin Turbo. They did a great job. He is very knowledgeable about older cars. Also free car wash. read more

The guy that runs this place is not super social. He isn't mean but doesn't exactly try to engage you either. The smog test took about 30 minutes but... I think he could have moved a lot faster. total for the smog test, electronic transfer, and certificate was $35. That is a fantastic deal. It even came with a free basic car wash. read more

Good and quick experience. They took the coupon no problem, plus I got a free car wash. read more

Very professional service. Received a free car wash when my car passed. Highly recommended.

It wasn't all that quick and easy as I had hoped. This lady got here literally two seconds before me so I had to just sit around and wait but of course that part didn't bother me. I kind of get why the other post say the guy who works here has no social skills. Personally, you don't need to get chummy with me when I'm just getting a smog test but I didn't like being tossed around here and there.. I felt really stupid and I wanted to leave but it was already late and I HAD TO get my smog test in by that day to avoid the penalty from the DMV :/ It's connected to the car wash and they are NOT under the same management so don't go in the car wash to ask for a smog check because they will ignore you! Extra star for sending the results right away on their computers over to the DMV + free car wash read more

I had no wait on a Saturday morning. I was in and out in 30 minutes and the gentleman who helped me was friendly and helpful. Also, you get a free car wash when you are done read more

Be prepared to wait a long time. Only have a few people cleaning cars and a crowd waiting so the cleaning is rushed and sub par.

Went in for a smog check. I was the 3rd car and was done in 15. Easy, fast and to the point. I had s coupon so the whole thing ended up costing me 30 bux. read more

was very happy with Crown Smog! my smog test took less than 10 minutes. print out the coupon for $19.95 before you go, it's worth it!

Smog test machine was broken and I wasted about 30 minutes waiting for them to get it working to no avail.

I tried this place for the first time today to have my 2006 tundra smogged. The guys working there are not the most social but they are alright. It cost me $40 to smog my truck which included a free(real) carwash with vacuuming and all. The also have a $29.95 coupon which i found but could not print because i was out of ink and out of time. Great deal tho. I went At 8 on a friday morning and was out in 15 mins. Recommended. read more

Went in for a smog check early morning and I got right in. It took about 25 minutes. I probably waited longer for the free car wash. So if you have to wait to get your smog check you should figure about 30 minutes for each car in front of you. With the coupon the Smog Check and car wash was $40.00. read more

I agree with the other reviewers who said the guy here is not very friendly. I came in happy cuz no one else was getting a smog check. I brought my FJ Cruiser here and left without getting it done because of the following: first, starting from the initial meeting, the guy wasn't friendly(ok with me as long as he gets the job done). Second, he didn't know how to check a car that has "auto-trac". He rudely tells me to turn off the auto-trac which to my fault I didn't know how cuz it's one of those features that I didn't really paid much attention too. I told him this and he responded with a lecturing and annoyed attitude. He responded with "you bought a car that you don't know how to use!" This got me flustered and so I told him that I don't know how to use every feature of the car and that I didn't even know that it came with that feature! He then told me that he didn't have time to figure out how to turn it off and that I need to take it to the dealer to do this. I looked around and there was no one else waiting to get a smog check and it was hours before closing time. This was the last straw and so I told him, with sarcasm of course, that "yeah, I see you're really busy, give me my keys cuz I'm going to the station a few blocks away." So I left and got the check done at the 76 station on corner of bellflower and del amo. The guy was friendly and knew to check a car with auto-trac!!! read more

I took my 87 Grand National there for a smog check & the guy performing them tried to say my car wasn't legal because it had headers & the turbo was not original equipment. My car is completely stock, he had no knowledge about my car & tried to argue it claiming it wasn't on the emissions decal, it is & it's clearly marked. He refused to do some research to see if I was telling the truth & argued with me when I showed him the coding on the VIN stating it is a high performance vehicle. I found another place with good reviews & took it there. that guy knew about the car & it passed with flying colors as I knew it would. I will never take my business there again for anything. They even do a lousy job on washing my vehicles, my wife had her Yukon detailed by them & there were so many places where they missed removing the wax, I could have done a better job blindfolded. the best thing the owners of that place could do is sell it to someone who knows what they're doing. Overall, they're expensive & they do poor work. read more
