Appalling rude service from the captains! Booked a table for a big group of us for 1st session yum cha on the weekend, 2 of us went in first to secure the table. Walked up the steps, a woman captain was there near the steps, no acknowledgement whatsoever, ignored us while she kept talking to the dim sim waitress; many waiters/waitresses walking around; I can see 3 more male captains walking around; this went on for a full 5 minutes or so until another male captain walked right past me without saying anything at all, I asked him for my booking and told them I have been ignored for 5 minutes; he then answered in a loud voice saying our booking name & how many people & we were ignored for 5 minutes so that the other captains can hear. One big size male captain said in a sarcastic way that it couldn't have been 5 minutes, probably 5 seconds only that I waited! I told them it's 5 minutes, that I'm not invisible, moreover there were 2 of us; why couldn't someone just walked over & told us to wait a while because they were busy; I'd understand but they just chose to ignore us. The ultimatum was then given by the woman captain whether I wanted the table or not... As I was in a group, of course I said I wanted a table. No apologies from anyone of them throughout our interaction. This scene caused other diners to stare at us, not knowing what was happening. The food was definitely not worth the ridicule, it was average! Plenty of other Chinese restaurants with better yum cha & high quality service. I suspect that if I was a Caucasian, this sort of waiting would not be tolerated either, and I would have been shown to my table straightaway! Racism shown toward your fellow Chinese people. Shame on you! Don't eat there if you are Chinese; I'm NOT!! Boycotting forever. read more
