I just purchased my new house and wanted to get the locks rekeyed, as well as a one-sided deadbolt (can't be seen from outside) installed on the front door. I had to change the locks on my house recently. This was the first time I needed a locksmith, so I chose Crown after doing some online research, reading positive reviews and calling other locksmiths in the area. The owner, Russ, explained his typical charges in advance over the phone and scheduled an appointment later in the morning. The base fee, per-cylinder, and per-key charges all compare favorably with other locksmiths in the area. When he realized he was running late from a previous appointment in Yucaipa, he called to make sure the new time would still work with my schedule. When Russ arrived he promptly got to work. He noticed one of my locks had been installed upside down by the previous homeowner and gave me some tips on keeping the locks well lubricated. Within an hour he had changed all the locks and made new sets of keys, and he clearly explained and itemized all charges on the bill. I called them yesterday afternoon and they were able to come this morning. Russ was professional, friendly, and rekeyed the doors quite efficiently. He even explained why one of my doors was having issues and told me how we could fix it (didn't get it all replaced today but probably will soon). $45 to come out, then $15.50 to rekey each lock. (Again each lock, so if a door has 2 locks, that's $31 total). And they do take credit card! It was cheaper than other places I've seen and it was a great experience. I will recommend & use them again! *UPDATE (3/11/15): I had Russ come out again as my front door knob had fallen completely apart. He replaced all the old hardware with a sharp set, and during installation he asked several times what options I wanted (where to drill, etc). It gave me the control to decide how it was all put together. Terrific work once again by Russ! The finished product is a classy upgrade! 5 stars again!! read more

When I mentioned it to him on the phone he didn't make any excuses, he asked when he can come by and assist.
