This business has a great chance to succeed as the prior owners were able to do, they are going to have to get a store manager that has some better customer service skills. I live blocks away, and I will go in if all else fails. There are only a handful of Hobby shops in Miami, very little competition. The man at the store seems to have his mind in other places, not the store or the hobbies, for this reason I believe he is an employee and not the owner. I really want to like this place. Small businesses deserve our support. But when I give you a claim ticket for a repair job and you have no record of job, can't find the hobby car, have to make three different calls and have me waiting while you look desperately everywhere... this is very concerning. Let me just start off by saying I thought this place would be better since they have been open for a while but it is horrible!!!! left my little brothers traxxus truck to fix the gear and it took them 4months to fix it! They never even called to let me know the truck was ready I called every week and they kept giving me the run around! Then when I finally walked in the place they where looking for it everywhere calling different people because they couldn't find it! This truck is worth $700!! Finally got the truck when I got home I realized that both batteries where missing!! Each battery is worth $80.00 they didn't say anything that the batteries where missing! read more

We purchased a remote control car and after using it for a couple of minutes the servo got damaged. We called and they said we had to come in to the store. We drove all the way from North Miami and took it back to see if they could help. They said they couldn't fix it and we would have to call the maufacturer. I went to Crown Hobbies after going to Extreme Hobbies which can be found in the same shopping center, and the contrast in customer attention couldn't be more obvious. The guy at the store is really rude. I was trying to find a charger for my Arrma Fazon Lipos batteries and he didn't even looked at me at the face and replied with an arrogant attitude that "it depends on how much money I want to spend", then he moved to the door and turned his back on me while I was talking. At that point I only wanted to ask if he knew a nice place to run RC cars in Miami since I'm new in this city, and he replied "No, there's no place in whole Miami to play with RC cars, and it is prohibited by law to play at public parks. You have to go all the way to Weston" Then I just wowed at the comment, (since he's kind of pushing enthusiasts away from the hobby with such a negative attitude) and without saying a word he continued "What do you want me to say? To lie?" What a horrible experience, my wife was with me that day and she told me right outside the store "What a rude person". read more

I recently had a wing repaired by Crown Hobbies. The repair consisted of structure damage and recovering the wing. I agreed to the price 100 they quoted. I asked if the could come close to the color of the original covering. They said its impossible. I asked them how much for recovering the tail structure to match the new covering. I was quoted 30 dollars. I waited to see there workmanship before I spend any additional dollars. I had purchased a new tail set from Towerhobbies to be recovered with the new wing covering in order to match. When I went to pickup the wing it still had the original cover and damage was repaired. The fact he had to use less material and labor the price should of been adjusted. He stilled charged me 100. In my opinion this shows a dishonest company in dealing with their customers. I will never shop their again. My recommendation for you all is to use House of Power located by FIU. They are straight shooters and a little pricey but they are honest. read more

Two days before Christmas while shopping for my 9 year old son, they sold me a Stampede VXL for $350 while Traxxas, the manufacture, sells them for $289 (retail) and everywhere else for $279 (retail) but I erroneously placed my trust in supporting a local hobby shop-(NEVER AGAIN), going online from now on. I called ahead and told them I was driving from Broward and was looking for the 4X4 VXL for $350 and they agreed. While there and with much confusion with the different boxes they were pulling out, I admit I neglected to look for the 4X4 on the box, I trusted them. I just wanted to pay and get out and sure enough, they priced gouged me by over $70. This is exactly why hobby shops are becoming extinct and losing to online buying. Sad to know that I placed my trust to help a local family owned business and they wantonly pulled a bait and switch with a smile on their faces. I hope they feel great about the extra $70 they took from me and my kids during Christmas...KARMA!!... read more
