My item was completely ruined, and when I reached out to the owner, he was rude, unprofessional, and made me feel extremely uncomfortable. He refused to take any responsibility or offer a refund, even though the damage was clear. I have never been treated this way by a business before. If you value your belongings, do NOT trust them with your dry cleaning. We will never return. read more

Maybe I should have paid more attention to the low reviews. I kept going here due to the location and the generally friendly customer service. Sadly they ruined my favorite silk top by stapling the receipt and paper into the top. I called to request a refund and they refused via phone unless I bring the garment into the store. It's inconvenient for me to make a special trip, so I offered to send photos instead but they refused, saying they want to "see if anyone made a mistake". Well, it's not worth the trouble to bring it in and discuss it for a $9 refund, since it already sounded like the error was up for debate. So instead, I'll simply go elsewhere from now on. What a shame! I wish the customer service was handled differently. read more

Crown Cleaners - They stapled the shirt - Sewing & Alterations Near Me - Sonoma, California

I visit Sonoma from time to time for my work, and I was in town yesterday for a work party. I bought a new dress for a new phase in my life and I had this outfit all planned out. I check into a local hotel, and when I prepped their iron to steam my dress to gently remove the wrinkles, it spit out rusty brown water on my white dress! I nearly died. Okay, that's a little dramatic, but I was freaking out. I googled and landed on Crown cleaners. I called, and I explained my situation and I was told by Kanak to bring in the dress for review. Thankfully, Kanak was able to restore my dress and he even pressed it for a very reasonable fee. Thank you so much!! read more

My suit was totally ruined, and no replacement was offered. One of the worst experiences I've had.

I had my suit and pants altered for a wedding. I was given a great quality, professional and friendly service. I would highly recommend Crown Cleaners. Thank you read more

I needed a tux for an out of town wedding and found Crown on the internet. Even though I was fitted at home, Raj asked if I could stop by before the wedding. I tried everything on and he made adjustments to get me a great fit, even though all the tuxes these days are slim fit, and I am not! You could not ask for better service, I highly recommend him! read more

When we first moved to Sonoma in 2016, my husband had a job that required dry-cleaning clothes regularly. Luckily we found Crown Dry Cleaning and Formal Wear right away. My husband went often, I went occasionally to pick up for him, and we were both extremely satisfied every time. The owner, Kanak Raj, might very well be the nicest person on the planet. He is certainly the most authentic! He truly cares about people. My husband changed jobs and neither of us needed dry cleaning for years. I recently went back with some clothes for my daughter and was prepared to be shocked at the cost for 2 formal dresses and a really nice sweater. I was shocked, but only because it was so much less than I expected! And Kanak was every bit as friendly and helpful as I remember - he still remembered us and our kids. He is a very kind person who also does great work! I have rarely met anyone who works so hard, he just has an amazing work ethic. read more

Excellent service! Very professional and outgoing. Happy to find such a great cleaner and alterations business in town!

Best in sonoma for tux or suit rentals, or chose to purchase top of the line suits. Measurements are always spot on and turn around time on alterations is fast! Recommend to anyone looking for full outfits or just accessories to top them off for an event. read more

I've always had a great experience here! I recently brought in my RH sofa covers, which were a mess, and they were cleaned to perfection and look amazing. the owner even went above and beyond and hand plucked the messy feathers out for me. Well priced as well! highly recommend. read more

Took my wife's wedding dress in after our wedding to be cleaned. Owner charged us $200 and we returned a week later to a dirty dress. It was apparently pressed dirty - which is insane for a $12,000 silk, couture gown. Owner would not admit wrong and were adamant we asked for a press (after our wedding). No refund of money to the card we paid with. Owner is operating in bad faith, stay away if you're in Napa/Sonoma looking for your dress to be dry-cleaned. Destination weddings beware. read more

I needed a last minute alteration to my dress before my daughter's wedding and this was the only place in town willing to do it. They had it ready sooner than expected, and did a great job! And very nice to work with, as well. Highly recommend! read more

In Sonoma for vacation, took some pants and shirt in for dry cleaning. Now mind you I live in Rancho Palos Verdes, Ca. A very nice side of town in Los Angeles. I take a number of dress pants, suits and shirts in all the time to be washed or dry cleaned. So I asked if I can get them the next day? Afternoon is fine, I am dropping them off at 7:30 am, so very early in the day. Also I am not asking for same day service. I go in after three, the guy said I waited for you yesterday. I looked at him and told the lady told me today after 2, I didn't ask for same day service? He then told me the price, 29.00! 12 dollars for each pair of pants and 5 for the shirt. 12.00 for pants WTF! I pay about 4 at home! I may pay 8 at a hotel which is high, but 12.00 ? I know I should have asked when I drop them off, but this is way out of line. I hope if you read this review, that you will go somewhere else. read more

Best dry cleaners in Sonoma, hands down! Customer service is as good as it gets, always delivering quality product at reasonable rates. Raj is an awesome guy, continually going the extra mile. I would not consider taking my business anywhere else. read more

Last month, I brought a very expensive, very sentimental dress to Crown Cleaners. This dress was a black halter (satin) with a gold foil lily pattern down the left side of it. It was a gift I had only worn it twice, and have had it successfully cleaned before. Crown Cleaners totally destroyed it. A relative picked up the dress for me, saying the cleaners claimed they "hand washed" it. All the gold was completely stripped off the dress, with nothing in its place but adhesive. I was devastated. When I called the business, the owner then stated they "dry cleaned" it. Funny, because the label says PROFESSIONAL SPOT CLEAN ONLY!! I appreciated that the owner admitted he may have made a mistake, and asked me to bring it in. He took my contact information and said he would get back to me. I waited a week. Never heard back. So, annoyed, I finally called and asked wtf's the status, Gladys. He said, yes indeed they messed up and asked me to return yet again. In the store, he said since I looked like a "nice girl", he would give me $100 for the dress (because, clearly, it was still wearable) and a $30 cleaning credit. I said, this is still wearable, huh? It looks like there's glue goo all over my black satin dress, where the gold should be. I also asked him to please return the $20+ we spent to get the dressed cleaned in the first place. I also asked him to please reimburse me more than just $100, since the SALE price of this dress was listed at $180 (no where close to what it originally cost). He argued with me with no good reasoning that he wouldn't pay anymore. I then said I would rather he write me a check for the $30 store credit because I had absolutely intention of bringing any business back here again. Instead, he wrote me a check for $112 - $100 for the dress and $12 for part of the cleaning fee. He started getting hostile and yelled at me in front of another customer. He also had the NERVE to ask me if he could keep my dress!!! F this place. My family used to bring significant business to Crown Cleaners, but not anymore. In all honesty, it wasn't the fact that the dress got ruined. Ultimately, it was how poorly he handled this situation and how he treated me, the customer. He didn't even have the professionalism to return my call, as he said he would. The check he issued me said "experts in formal wear" on it. At least that part was good for a laugh :\ Needless to say, this was the worst customer service experience of my life. read more

We needed a last second Tux Rental, two days before Prom. No problem... Great, friendly service and they have been in Sonoma for years and years! Thank you Crown!!! read more

This review is a reminder of WHY you support local business like Crown Cleaners.. I ran into Raj (proprietor) tonight in line at the Supermarket, and he reminded me that I had a sport coat (that he repaired back in May) waiting at his shop! I had completely forgotten. Try finding service like that anywhere else.. AWESOME! Thank you, Raj! Customer for life. read more

Picked up two new shirts I had dropped off for laundry and press and they looked like they were ten years old and had been dragged through a lint pile. The color had a faded look and the shirts were covered in lint. To top it off the girl couldn't find them at first. She spent five to ten minutes roaming around the shop looking for them. Not worth the time or money to use this business. I went home and re washed the shirts and ironed them myself and they still look little faded. read more

They pressed my shirts and hemmed my pants. I don't know what else to say. Well done.

Raj is a gentleman and my stuff always comes back just how I would expect it. Prices are a bit high, but fitting for downtown Sonoma.

Been going here for years. The do a great job with all my dry cleaning needs

friendly excellent service. Wouldn't go anywhere else. Been going for the past 7 years.

Always very helpful and friendly. I think the prices may be high compared to other towns, but they send out coupons all the time. It's the only place I go anymore. read more

Terrible customer service. Brought a bedspread in to get cleaned, which he lost. He said you can have another one that 'looked' like the bedspread, and he wouldn't charge me for it. This guy is crazy. Will never go back again read more

Our first time experience: One pair of lady's white pants died pink-ish upon return (fixed upon complaint) One new men's golf shirt shrunk to the point where it might fit a 12-year old (and I got no phone call back after visiting and leaving my number - I had to phone Raj) One men's shirt with a mysterious stain on the back after laundering One men's linen shirt where the collar was completely mangled after dry cleaning. Fabulous Service!! Hats off to Crown Cleaners & Formal Wear! They are the best! All praises to the very kind owner. God bless you more.

I dropped my wedding dress off to be pressed before our wedding and they did an amazing job! I also dropped my wedding dress off after the wedding to have it cleaned and placed into a memory box. The owner is so nice and very reliable. I would highly recommend this place for cleaning/pressing wedding attire! read more

I'm from Des Moines, IA but got married in Sonoma, so after two airplane rides and car ride from Oakland, my wedding dress had taken a bit of a beating. Crown did an absolutely FANTASTIC job of steaming and pressing my gown, as well as my husband and his best man's suits. They took such care with everything and the owner could not have been kinder. They are a touch pricey, but just about everything everything in wine country costs a bit more than it does here in the midwest. Thank you, Crown! Highly recommend. read more

Crown Cleaners does a great job. Owner is hands on and always very pleasant to work with. They are fast and reliable. I have been going there for many years and never disappointed. Dry cleaning and altering both done well. read more

I call before going into the store, and it is explained to me that Crown does alterations. However, when I arrived the next day to drop off my curtains, the man behind the counter tells me it is "against California law" to do an alteration (on any item) and NOT dry clean the item. Having lived in California for some time (and taken clothes to be altered and NOT dry cleaned), I knew what he was saying was a lie designed to swindle me out of money. As I walked out the door, he became very irate and said "good luck with that" in a very rude and offensive tone. These people are NOT honest. Take your business to Maxwell off Broadway Cleaners. read more

The best place to rent formal wear in Sonoma. Raj the owner is very nice and very knowledgeable. I got fitted at another formal wear store on the east coast, called Raj with the measurements and he had everything ordered and ready to go. BEWARE: steer clear of this place! My comforter was delivered late and RUINED! And to add insult to injury, the owner Raj was shockingly unapologetic and RUDE about the whole situation. I will NEVER return or recommend Crown Cleaners! I'm writing this to save someone else the grief. read more

This amateur outfit really let me down on a tuxedo rental. I went through the laborious process of completing their online form for a rental (apart from excessive measurement requirements, you need to visit different sites and pages) and called them when I hadn't heard anything 5 days before the event. The incompetent man there told me that my request must have gone through to his junk mail. I had to explain no joke about 6 times that I didn't email him, I completed the form on his website and pressed submit, following which his webpage confirmed my request! He never got it. I was then told I would be paying significantly extra as it was all last minute and the tux would need to be couriered. I told him where to go. If you need a tux rental in Sonoma I emphatically recommend you look elsewhere. read more

We went to Crown Cleaners for tuxedo rental for a wedding in Sonoma in August. Kanak was extremely helpful and flexible, and made sure we had everything we needed in time for the wedding, despite short notice. We had thought we needed to go to SF for tux's, but got everything we needed (including great selection) at Crown Cleaners. Thanks! read more

We always had our dry cleaning done there. It was OK. I brought a pair of pants in there to be hemmed. They had my pants for a month, then I got them back and they were not shortened correctly because the owner gave some vague instructions to the tailor. My wife called him and he talked over her and had every excuse in the book-" It's costing him money, he doesn't have control of the tailor, it was my fault." I took them back and said " Give me my $18.00 back and I will take the pants and get them shortened somewhere else." He said " No, he would make it right." I went in to pick them up a few days after they were to be ready and they were not there. More excuses. I said " call me when they are ready." Two weeks later I got a call " that my pants are ready." I went to pick them up. The owner was curt with me, obviously displeased. I tried on the pants one leg is longer than the other. He claimed it " cost him $30. to get the pants shortened." He previously said " it cost him $ 25.00." Then he said " it was my fault." Finally I went off. I told him " you had my pants for a month and a half and couldn't get it right." "That it wasn't my concern, as a customer, about his problems with his tailor. It was not my concern that he can't control his operation." Then I said "Take a good look at my face, you will not be seeing it again." I took my pants and left. The guy has excuses for everything and he lies. Never again. read more
