The music taste would suit the more mature person, but it is played as background music, so it is bearable. It is very popular with the locals, as well as people travelling from the other surrounding towns/areas. This is a very clean pub and all facilities are good. The staff are very friendly and eager to please. Local beers are available, along with the regular type of drinks - and prices are reasonable. There is a selection of bar snacks and restaurant-type of food. I have, personally, only ever had food from the bar snacks, but the portions are good and well presented. There is also, a beer garden and smoking facilities. Throughout the week, entertainment is on, and they often have music form local acts. When I think of beaches, I think of places relaxing, and like a holiday, which is another reason for the ironic name of the Beach. On my recent visit, I was appalled at how it has changed from a nice pub to a nightmare, the floors were dirty and it seemed to me like a little unkept, horrible pub, it was very noisy, with a children's play area, with shouting and screaming, and kids misbehaving. The staff didn't seem too great, and seemed to be overworked, such as giving me a menu and handing the guy next to me a pint, seemed too much for him. They is also long waits for tables, and it simply isn't a nice, well kept place, with it being very cramped at some areas, and simply not very nice. The menu does have gluten free labeling, which along with how The Beach was like in the past, is another reason why I want to like this place, but simply can't. To go alongside the horrible ambience, poor service and it being very noisy (they is a line behind borderline mayhem and a family pub), you also have to pay £2 to park here, which is very expensive and I'm sure you don't get it back for visiting the restaurant, meanwhile a council car park, just meters away charge 90p. The car park does also seem a little small, and mostly full and is probably used for visitors for the lake, and the other restaurants opposite it, but simply they is no offer to reimburse customers, which to go alongside how the pub is like and has gone hill, it is like they simply don't care. I walked out as it was simply a disgrace, and it really does disappoint me how this place has dramatically turned for the worse.

Prices are very reasonable & you can easily drink away to your heart's content - without blowing a major hole in your pocket. Food is served: Fridays - Sundays, between 5pm & 8pm. The menu isnt huge, but you will find a range of snacks & main meals - the chips are home-made & a real favourite of mine. On Sunday's - its 'Karaoke Night' - & you can have a go, if you like - without feeling intimidated :o) Kids are welcome, upto a certain time. Toilet facilities leave alot to be desired - they could do with a total re-vamp, in fact the whole place could do with it, quite frankly. There is definately a problem with 'your shoes sticking to the carpet' syndrome and the smell of the place is not too pleasant either. Complained to the bar person only to be told it was out of an unchilled can !!! Asked to have it changed for a pint of draught cider and was then asked to pay again. Asked to speak to the manager who was completely unsympathetic and was physically ejected by their doorman. In my 58 years of life have never ever been asked to leave a pub for any reason. If this had been a high street store it would have closed down with such an attitude problem. Avoid at all cost

The carbonara was delicious but there was small deposit of oil left in at bottom of the plate, I'm sure it was Italian olive oil which is good for you so I'm fine with that. For dessert I had the chocolate sundae, which again, was lovely. Plentiful supply of chocolate brownie along with vanilla ice cream, smothered in chocolate sauce, topped with a biscuit and marshmallow. All in all, great little place, will definitely visit again!
