Locals recommendation for dinner. We have been working in nearby McPherson and have eaten at all the possible restaurants and needed a change. Steak house immediately caught our attention. We had a group of eight and were immediately seated in the back. It's a big restaurant for sure. Tables and booths and a bar in the back. They had a fried chicken buffet but we ended up eating off the menu. I could see a lot of locals immediately went for the buffet and salad bar. We had ribeye dinner. Pretzel bun burger. Chicken fried steak and rye burger. Everything was delicious and made fresh to order with salads and sides. Service was nice and attentive. We had a couple of Swedish type drinks. We ate here for lunch and we had chicken salad and husband had Swedish meatballs with noodles ! The salad was delicious with crispy chicken and the noodles and meatballs were excellent! The beet salad was different because I usually don't like beets But even that was good! Beautiful place very spacious and service was pure perfection! read more

My wife and I stopped in for lunch during our Swedish Christmas gift shopping and it was a top notch experience. The restaurant space is well appointed with custom Swedish touches. The food was incredible. The owner is also the chef and we met her mother who helps out in the dinning room from time to time. Amazing people with a passion for food and service. We started with the Smorgas and it was delicious. My wife ordered the Kottbullar (Swedish meatballs) a first for us other than my grandmothers recipe from Sweden. She loved it! Her side was the Artsoppa, Swedish yellow pea soup. Flavorful and hearty, yum! I had the Lamp Chops with a side of Farskpotatis (Swedish dill potatoes). The lamb entree was heavenly as it was accompanied by pistachio crusted goat cheese and blanched spinach in a garlic butter sauce. The lamp chose were perfectly cooked. We learned the lamp comes in fresh from Blazefork Farm from Inman KS. My wife and I will make this one hour trip monthly just to partake in this culinary delight. While camping at Kanopolis State Park we decided to venture into town and what a gem we found. First and foremost, Emily, our server, could not have been nicer. We started out with the Broccoli Cheese soup and the Korean Sticky Ribs and both came out hot and delicious. The ribs had some really nice heat to them as well. Our entrees were the Swedish Meatballs and the Lamb chops. Both were absolutely amazing. The lamb was cooked a perfect med-rare and the accompaniment of mashed potatoes and pistachio crushed goat cheese was decadent. If I lived closer this would be a weekly visit!! read more

We had the Crown and Rye cater my mom's 90th birthday party in Salina a couple weeks ago and we couldn't have been more pleased. Delivery was right on time, the food was delicious, and the presentation of each item was perfect for setting right on the table. Thankfully, we had enough leftovers for nibbling through the rest of the weekend because it was all so good! Well, this is my third review on crown and Rye I in Lindsborg, Kansas and this review is probably one of the most satisfying reviews I would like to give this place. Well, I could never find a good hamburger in the whole town of Lindsborg after eating at all the other hamburger joints and always very disappointing outcomes Crown and Rye has hands-down number one hamburger in the town of Lindsborg along with great french fries. After eating at every place in town that sold a hamburgers I had almost given up and today I wasn't expecting even to order the hamburger, but I thought this is my last try and into my delight I was not disappointed. It's not only the best hamburger in town, but it's also the biggest hamburger in town and the best not because of the size but because of the quality of bun and the quality of the ingredients that goes in between the buns. now, while I complained in the past of them, not having any rolls, I can now substitute the hamburger bun toasted instead along with a nice dinner. You may think it's kind of quirky, but it's a good enough bread to eat with some of their meals that deserves a bun. The hamburger was top quality meat. The veggies were nice and crispy and was very enjoyable to eat. I would suggest anybody else in Lindborg that sells hamburgers go and try the burger at crown and Rye and you will see how their quality of burger is so far above your quality that once you eat a burger at crown and rye, you will not eat a burger anywhere else in Lindsborg until they step up. I then proceeded to eat a piece of cherry almond pie with vanilla ice cream, and both were a perfect combination and very delicious. I thought it was such a great dessert counter and varieties that to top off the restaurant would have a complete coffee bar, which would up their sales of desserts and overall enjoyable experience with a nice double shot of cappuccino. While they do have a home brewed coffee, cappuccino, and lattes come out of a machine which I declined on and had a cup of coffee. But overall, my experience today was quite enjoyable, and I have left feeling a sense of peace that there is finally a place where I can go and have a great Hamburger like a hamburger should be served. read more

This Lindsborg icon has gone through several iterations over the past decade and the last time I was here it was still under the name "The Swedish Crown" so I was eager to see how "Crown and Rye" differed. Upon walking in you still have a very similar ambiance, it's upscale, but also really homey at the same time. Honestly, I do think the interior of this restaurant could be upgraded a bit and really lean into the more elegant side of this place. It would be nice to have some true fine dining in Lindsborg and I feel like this place is so close to making that a reality. The wait staff is almost always Bethany College students and they did a great job this time - they were attentive and friendly, also got our drinks out fairly fast. The menu is still traditional Swedish with American fare mixed in, so it has a lot to offer the whole family. I ordered some kind of traditional sausage dish and it was really tasty! Overall it's a great option if you are looking for someplace that caters to the Swedish theme of the town and has good food. I'd recommend this to anyone visiting Lindsborg, and it's always in our rotation when we are in town. read more

Be VERY careful to keep your opinions to yourself about anything involving this Bar & Grill even when asked by the owner to be honest & open. This is located where The Swedish Crown used to be. It's a nice place and the people working there are very friendly. Was a little disappointed that it seems to be mostly your typical fare of American food now instead of the Swedish cuisine that dominated the previous owners menu. It's a nice establishment though and the food was good. We will visit again I'm sure when we go into Lindsborg. read more

We had a fairly bad experience. my friends and I wanted to drive in from Hutchinson and see what the food and experience was like. we were looking forward to it but unfortunately from the moment we stepped in we were disappointed. it was a cold brisk day and it was freezing in the restaurant. the hostess simply said they had just opened and turned on heat... it would warm up soon. ( you would think they would plan for such things) after an hour and 15 minutes it was still cold. food was disappointing. sandwiches looked over cooked but eatable. burger was nothing special and sweet potato fries were over cooked and tasteless. service was not very good but they were understaffed. we had planned to enjoy dessert but we were too cold to plan to be there for another half hour or more. perhaps dinner would be a better experience but we would not go back for lunch again. read more

Stopped after police training. Wait staff was very pleasant. I had the sausage and potatoes, my friend had the meatloaf with mashed potatoes and cheese on top. The food was seriously delicious.
