Worst registry I've ever been to. There was only one agent who was authorized to do corporate returns and changes. After waiting 20 mins and 5 people passing us in line, they only qualified agent took someone who was behind us . Went to another nearby registry, in and out in 5 mins. the men who give the road test are rude and cold. they act like you are wasting there time. on my road test my instructor had given me a false automatic fail. and he knew that. I had stoped for 3 secs at a red light when I was turning right. he had looked at me signed and said that was a red light. I told him i know and that I stopped he never mentioned it again and made me continue to do my test. even at the end he didnt say anything about it so he knew he made a mistake. but he never took it off the test results. they need to go over what makes a person fail the test because it's seems like that don't know and don't want too do what you pay almost $200 for. I don not recommend crowfoot plates. go too north hill or anywhere else. read more

Very frustrated as I was given forms for getting a birth certificate from Quebec that were out of date. Why keep forms and hand them out to customers in good faith that are out of date and not accepted? I have now wasted precious time and money trying to obtain essential time-sensitive documents only to have then rejected because the forms were out of date. I had no idea forms went out of date so never though to examine a form i was handed by the registry for correct dates?! The registry should not be allowed to hand out forms that they do not keep up to date. The mistake is theirs, and yet the consequences of their negligence are now mine and costing me dearly as I deal with the death of a family member. read more

Today I visited the Crowfoot Plates office in regards to an application that I mailed to them over 1 month ago. I spoke with 2 employees who were both friendly and willing to help. However when I dealt with the manager I found her to be very rude. To top it off she turned and walked away from me before I felt the conversation was completed. I will still be submitting the application but NOT with this location. read more

The staff will give you bad information. I recently moved to Alberta and tried to exchange my licence at Crowfoot Plates. I checked the government website and the Crowfoot Plates website, and then called Crowfoot Plates to confirm that I had the right documents. When I got there, all my documents were rejected. The woman at the counter handed me a list of acceptable documents, on which all my documents were listed. I did not receive a satisfactory explanation as what the issue was. However, the woman there did stop me from asking any questions and insist I read the list, which again, already had the documents I had in hand. This was a super frustrating visit and I would hope that none of their other customers go through the annoyance I did. read more

The service is so slow. I come by everyday for the past week after work & the line is to the door. I finally came in one day. There are 7 kiosks & only 3 staff working when I walked in. 5 min of waiting & one of the staff packed up her station & left so now it's a line to the door with two staff working. read more

NEVER GO HERE! Absolutely worst office staff I've ever experienced. I emailed them multiple times, they kept telling me to come in and get it resolved. Showed up 4 times and every time they had a different excuse of why someone couldn't help me. Finally talked to the "right" person who just belittled me and turned me away again. I tried to get a copy of my registration printed at this place. We moved out of province so I couldnt be there in person. I sent a friend (with the authorization paperwork) and they just weren't able to hit the magic print button for me. I called a different registry office and they answered all my questions and had a copy en route right away. Dont go here. They must be undertrained. read more

My girlfriend went in Friday afternoon to register her car and was told she was flagged for a no insurance ticket and had to fill out a statutory declaration of the ticket incident. There was never any such ticket. She confirmed with CPS and went to another registry with absolutely no issues and was informed there is no system for flagging a drivers license for any such thing. Will be filing complaint with the Alberta Government about the clearly incompetent staff and how they manage the services. They are playing with people's livelihoods and the poor attitude COVID or not is unacceptable. read more

Well, this isn't my favourite of the Calgary registries, but it's certainly one of my most frequented ones. Every time I need to update my care registration I always head here, and immediately regret it afterward. It seems that, from open to close, there is always a jumbo line. People pack into this place to have their needs met and I usually end up waiting for close to half an hour... it sucks. I guess people like this one because it's always busy. I find that the workers at this location aren't always the friendliest. It could be because they don't have any down time, what with the huge line-ups and all. Or it could be because they have to deal with some stupid people sometimes. I've heard customers pretty much yelling at the counter people before... I always feel bad. So, to sum it up. Busy. Not-so-friendly. Convenient. I'll probably end up going there in a few weeks to update my registration again. read more

Terrible terrible terrible terrible terrible place. Never go here for a driving test. I had Barry (ID#: 14563) and he was a complete dick, never met someone so rude in my life. He was criticizing me the whole drive and continuously laying into the things I did wrong in my road test. He clearly has no ability to pick up on social cues on when to stop being such a condescending jerk to someone and critiquing every little thing they do. Left there feeling 0 confidence about my driving skills. Never going here again and never giving them one more cent of my money. Hope they go out of business - it'll benefit everybody tremendously. There's a reason their reviews only boast 2.4/5 stars. I'd personally give a 0/5 easily. read more

So of the handful of times I've been to this location, only 1 time can I say it was pleasant. The other times it has been awful AND provided wrong information according to another registry office I ended up going to. Just because something is convenient, does not make it good. And this place is the perfect example. So what happened this morning is the last straw.... Awful behavior. Ok, I understand this virus thing makes it sometimes unpleasant for customer service. BUT, I was just kicked outside, plus yelled at, plus was made to lose my place in line. ALL because THEY didn't put out their signs this morning. There was space by the door on the inside so I was not near anyone (maintaining my distancing). But this girl came over with a metal post and started to yell I had to maintain 6 feet from the door (no sign saying this anywhere) then when I went outside I turned around to face the door to see when there is space for me to return, and then she started yelling again stating that I must be at least 6 feet from the door outside (again no sign) and then she proceeded to put up the outside metal post and sign showing where to line up AFTER all the people waiting outside then rearranged themselves and took my spot. All the time she is yelling at me and another guy that we have to maintain our distance (we didn't know where to stand because there was no sign at the time!). By the way, Crowfoot Registry, yelling at your customers because YOU didn't do what YOU were supposed to is not a good way to get business. Never again will I go to this location. read more

A bald guy that works at Crowfoot Plates was yelling at a customer for coming in the door 30 minutes before they close that she wouldn't be served because they couldn't process everyone before they closed in 30 minutes. He proceeded to have a yelling match with a customer in here making it awkward for everyone in the registry with two different people about why they couldn't be served. DO NOT USE THIS PLACE!! Only gets 1 Star as there is no 0 Star option. Called a day ahead to see if they could do a corporate amalgamation (requires a level 3 agent - they are on the level 3 list). "Yes, of course, just come on in, we can definitely do that for you." Arrived next day, waited 1 hour in line, then the gentlemen at the window said "Sorry, I can't do this, but my colleage over there in the white T shirt can, have a seat." So, had a seat, and after another ten minutes, flagged down the fellow in while. "Sorry, I can't do that and we don't have any level 3 agent in today." !! Also noticed the general level of service - abysmal. While there were 3-4 agents to man the windows, most of the time they were all bunched up behind the one agent who knew how to do the job!! Went to another nearby registry and was served in 5 minutes. Yes, they had a level 3 agent, 2 minutes later that agent was with me. Looking around the windows were all staffed by cheerful, competent personnel. Don't know what the score is at Crowfoot Plates - maybe just hiring family and friends - but unless you want a lousy registry experience, steer clear of the place. read more

Been coming here 3-4 times a year for many years, my last visit they made their first mistake by miss entering data in their computer. After 3 weeks with nothing arriving in the mail I called the Alberta government who pointed out the registry's mistake. Went in to get it fixed and Crowfoot plates charged me $28 to fix a mistake that their employee made. I escalated to a manager however it seems making customers pay more for their companies mistakes is policy. Unfortunately they just lost a customer today. read more

His customer services skills are poor at best, he was not friendly, short and sharp on answers, and it clearly felt to me like he simple couldn't care less. Time to go some where else. read more

I had a grand time. I was taking a basic road test and matt was my driving instructor. He was fine asf and smelled rly good. He was SO nice and he passed me. When I passed he said "congratulations, and enjoy your freedom" I'm 16 so this drivers license really is my ticket to freedom. He was so kind and I hope he lives forever and ever. Wonderful experience!! Went to get my 14 year old daughter's learners permit but in our excitement we didn't realize till we got there that it was the last day of the month a few hours before closing and the line up was out the door. When we got closer we noticed that there was a man right at the door asking everyone why they were there and then directing them to the proper place to go which was extremely helpful. He was very kind and smiling despite being so busy, found out later this man was the OWNER and that he frequently does this for his customers when it's busy. When we got to the counter we met with Sam who ended up walking us through the entire process and trying to make my daughter feel at ease about her test. He was extremely kind, personable and very friendly. Thank you Sam!! This constant attitude and rude service by nearly all of the women behind the counter deserves a 0 star review. I was lucky enough to get Meagan . It started out with her finishing with a customer, when they left she looked at her screen which gave me the impression I should stay behind the line and await her to summon me before her. Instead, she waited about 20 awkward seconds then proceeded to stare at me as though I was holding her up. So I said ok I guess I will come before you Masta. I didn't have my drivers license as the police mistakenly kept it. I had called into plates before arriving and was told to bring any government ID or a utility bill from within the last 90 days. So I show her my passport. "Oh it's expired, we can't take this" so o show her my sin number. " we didn't accept Sin number" , show her a utility bill from Epcor. It want an actual invoice thought just a statement . Still had all my info. " Sir, this is not a utility bill" so finally I show her my PAL fire arms license. Which is govt photo Id. She says that works but need something else. Luckily I had a gas bill that met Megan's standards. After all this, I say I need a driver abstract. " oh, well you have a hidden ticket of $209. I say will you give me an abstract if I PAy that? No, it says your license is suspended. . Ok, what for ? I do t know. I need an abstract I say . She says no. I ask to look at her screen she quickly grabs it and turns out of sight. She says I need to call driver montioring. I say sure, can You give me my drivers license number as they will ask for that. No sir, how do you know what they will ask you.? So to sum up, she refused to sell me an abstract or simply provide my license number . All she could do was collect $209 from me and give me nothing in return. . She then told me we were done here and started to help someone else well I pack my things up . I politely ask for her full name twice before she said Megan . But no last name. . Her co workers were happy to see Megan progressing into the model employee they are molding her to be. Very rude unhelpful service every time I have had to go in their. I wish there was someway to make a complaint other then to her masters at Crowfoot Plates. read more

Crowfoot Plates does some things right and others frustratingly wrong. Their premises and location are great. But their customer service philosophy is simply absent. They clearly demonstrate, every time, their ultimate boss is not you and I, the people who pay their salaries. Their only objective is to please the Government of Alberta. We lowly subjects should just be grateful they are willing to serve us. Licensing matters are not as a cut and dried as the people running this outfit love to inform us. There is room for flexibility, for bending procedures a bit to meet unique customer circumstances. I know this because I have used other registries that try to be helpful and are somewhat flexible. Let's be realistic. We have no choices in some things. We need drivers' licenses and license plates or we take the bus. But there are plenty of registries in Calgary. My suggestion is, avoid this registry if possible. Protect your own sanity, and find one on YELP that your fellow citizens have judged to be somewhat interested in pleasing the person handing them the money, the public, the real boss. BTW - I do not blame the front line employees of Crowfoot Plates for their bad attitude. They are very obviously doing what their manager has told them to do. In fact she is right there saying 'no' over their shoulder, every single time they wish to do something helpful for a harried, struggling citizen. Saying 'no' is her job, she fervently believes. I feel for her hard-working employees, but mostly I feel for the people who go there. It's an unnecessarily demeaning experience. read more

Just called to assist in getting a customers information to the branch, pretty poor customer service to say the least. The phone was answered and I was put on hold without saying a word, just said "Crowfoot plates, please hold" When I mentioned to the person he said they were to busy to speak with customers prior to putting them in hold. Either poorly staffed or horrible customer service, either way I'd go anywhere possible to not be treated so disrespectfully. read more

I was having issues with my Alberta Health Care and called them ahead of time with my issue. I live out of town and my local registry is not able to manage Alberta Health Care matters. After a 30 minute drive and an hour wait I was informed that the representative I spoke to on the phone gave me completely incorrect information resulting in a complete waste of time. I'm not unhappy with the wait as times are difficult with Covid-19 but knowing the long wait times they need to make sure they are giving out correct information on the phone as not to waste mine and other patrons time. read more

This afternoon I was conducting business as a regular customer at Crowfoot Plates Registry when another customer entered the business without donning a mask. An employee of the business confronted this gentleman at the entrance as she was exiting the premises and informed the customer twice that a mask was required to enter the business or they could provide a mask . This customer simply ignored this employee , waited at the entrance door momentarily and walked directly up to an open wicket and commenced their business without asking for a mask . At that point I asked the person serving me to have this customer don a mask at which time another associate intervened and said that it was not their responsibility to enforce the bylaw in this regards . I voiced my displeasure with this attitude and was asked to leave which I obligingly did . What should have occured in my opinion is that the maskless customer should have been asked to leave . This establishment is a representative of the Alberta government and it is incumbent upon them to comply with Alberta government directives as outlined here . ( https://www.alberta.ca/masks.aspx ) . I also would like to know how the other employees at this establishment feel about being unnecessarily exposed to the virus in this context . We are all fed up with covid and want our lives to get back to normal asap . As a taxpayer I expect government officials and its agents to take this matter very seriously and set a firm example to all who enter their premises. I've never been here and not had an issue whether doing a car registration, driving license or whatever else There's never enough staff. They have 6 teller desks yet they rarely have more than 2 staff on at a time. There's frequently line ups all the way to the door. DO NOT visit this place if you're stretched for time, that's for sure. I wish there was a closer registry read more

Took my class 5 license here and had Barry as an instructor. He was fantastic and fair, clearly explained the test and was very comfortable to be around. The women doing the check in were very friendly and the woman who set up my registration was funny and polite. Quick service, friendly, clean. read more

SUPER RUDE was the lady that served me. Obviously I'm sure the services here are fine. I wish I could have gotten the name of the girl who serves me. At the time I'm writing this she was the one sitting at the end, was thin with dark hair. I could believe I was treated like I was. It turned out there was another service I needed, and I'm literally driving to another place because I was so unimpressed with the attitude of that one lady. It's crazy. If you don't care or want to take the risk and maybe get some one else, no problem with this place. But if you want to be sure you'll be treated well, go somewhere else. It'll be in your best interest. Hope this is helpful and insightful. Also, this place is pretty busy, so be aware of that, and it'll probably be best to come during not peak hours if you don't want to wait. read more

The staff were friendly, there's free candy, and plenty of parking. Unfortunately everyone knows this, so the place is usually queued up. Give yourself half an hour. If you're closer to North Hill Mall, that registry typically has smaller line-ups. read more

Disgusting customer service person named Susy. Rude and unhelpful. Lost my ID, it was my understanding through research that if I brought someone to vouch for me and swear an oath that I could replace My ID. WRONG. I was able to order a birth certificate but not replace my Alberta ID card. Not sure why my friends affidavit was good enough for new birth certificate but not for the ID card. I had mail with my address and my new Alberta health card with address on it but that wasn't good enough. That woman Susy had the nerve to tell me I needed to " calm down" when all I did was question why I could have my friend vouch for me for one thing but not the other. To top it off, she charged me for courier service when I clearly told her I want it sent to my home, which she verbally verified with me. I worked customer service for 20 years and would never have treated a customer as rudely as SUSY. Unfortunately. I now need to go back to this place for my refund and, as I do not drive, it means having to arrange once again for someone to take me there. read more

My husband and I went to Crowfoot Plates to change the address on our licenses and registration. I had also just purchased a vehicle that same day and wanted to switch out the Acura with the Toyota on the registration and plates. Despite having the Bill of Sale, our old insurance slips, our new insurance slips, registration documents and government issued ID, the employee was unable to complete the changes as requested. She did say she could do the switch with the Audi with the Toyota but not the Acura and Toyota, which is not what we wanted at all! The problem was the insurance as my name is not explicitly listed listed on the slip. I share the same last name as my husband and offered to go home to bring back the full insurance policy which would list all the drivers and cars covered. However with the new car only purchased that day, the new car would not be listed on the full documents but I did have the temporary pink slip that shows the same insurance company and policy, with coverage on the new car. Would that be okay to bring as proof of insurance? Apparently not. Having switched my car two times and having moved two times in the past five years with this issue never coming up at any of the other registries in Calgary, I was surprised by their tactics to try and sell us on more services than what we required and to make the entire process more complicated than it had to be. After wasting 30 minutes in line and another 15 with the employee getting nowhere, we opted to go to another registry. At the other registry, they had no issues with processing our request with the exact same documentation within 15 minutes including the wait time. Thanks for nothing Crowfoot Plates! We won't be going back there again for our registry needs. The employee was polite, but just had a way of over complicating things without being able to provide real solutions. I haven't been to a lot of registries for comparison, but whenever I come here they resolve whatever my need is. New license, easy. Parking tickets, paid. Forgot my pink slip, go home and get it. Big lineups, only at the end of the month. Long wait time, they have a big screen TV. The last few times I've been here there has been no line-up and only a couple people working at the counter. That was more than enough. Even when it's busy the staff are pleasant and helpful. Tip, go in the middle of the month. read more
