Clayton Funeral Home and Cemetery Services - Clayton Funeral Home

Clayton Funeral Home and Cemetery Services

Simply outstanding service by a staff of genuine, down-to-earth, caring people. Look - I know (in…read morefact, I hope), that the people who run this family-owned business are rolling in dough. They deserve it. I went to two other funeral homes in the area, and while both were perfectly pleasant and nice, it was Zac Clayton and his staff (everyone from the guy giving directions to the pallbearers, making sure everyone had buttonnieres, etc., to the young lady giving instructions to the cemetery workers (South Park Cemetery)) who a) never made us feel like we were pressured into 'buying up' to a 'better' model of casket or container; b) were totally - TOTALLY - transparent about prices and fees; c) took care to ensure that EVERY necessary detail was addressed (flowers, prayer cards, finding a priest who could perform a service at the funeral home when there was a schedule conflict with the church, etc.) either by Clayton or by the family; d) had pricing that was more than fair on the services and items needed for the burial; and e) were just all-around super nice, comforting, helpful, and made you feel like they were helping out family and friends that they had known for years. Honestly, do yourself a favor, shop around if you want to, but GO to these guys and give them a listen. You will be SO GLAD afterwards that you did. BTW - everything about the service was lovely - the flowers (done in house by Clayton), the service by our borrowed priest (thank you Father Jim!), the slideshow of photos and music (photos / music supplied by family, edited into presentation by Clayton and displayed flawlessly by the Clayton folks on their big screen using their a/v equipment. Cannot thank or recommend these guys enough. Thank you Clayton (and especially Zac) for all you did for our mother and our family.

Clayton Funeral Home and Crematory provided funeral services for my husband. I highly…read morerecommend them because the services provided were exceptional. Mr. John Clayton and his staff were so professional, so compassionate and so sensitive to our needs, making a difficult time less stressful. This is a funeral home that goes the extra distance to make sure everything is done correctly and on time. The funeral parlor is also quite beautiful. I cannot thank Mr. Clayton and his staff enough, for assisting us in having a dignified and beautiful home going service for my husband. Diana Merritte

The best advice is to plan ahead. Greg Jeter and his staff did a thoughtful and beautiful job…read morecoordinating with my parent's church. The military funeral provided to my father was very special. A lot of money was saved by planning done earlier in life. They have a lovely funeral home, and I've attended funerals at their business location as well. They are respectful, genuine and sincere in the services they provide.

Absolutely disgraceful. From the beginning of planning the funeral for my son to the end I have…read morenever witnessed such unprofessionalism and ineptitude. To start, I was not given a price list for caskets or burial containers as required by law. I was overcharged for death certificates and when I asked I was told that's just how they do the bookkeeping. Who knows what other excessive charges were added in. No kleenexes were supplied anywhere in the building including in the chapel. No water available either. The night of visitation, instead of coming in and saying it was time to close and end it, the lights were turned off on us. I received absolutely no help in writing the program for the service, I had no idea what should be included in it. The day of the service, the speaker system stopped playing one of the songs I chose for my son and we sat waiting until they completely restarted the music. The processional out of the chapel was chaotic and uncoordinated, my daughters were almost left out of the procession. To top it all off, we paid over $1400 for an escort to Rosewood in Humble and the escort took us through a convenience store parking lot OVER SPEED BUMPS. I plan to file a grievance with the Texas Funeral Commission. Unprofessionalism and over charging people while they are grieving is completely UNACCEPTABLE. If I hadn't had to make an agreement with my ex-husband to use this funeral home in order to bury my son's body at Rosewood where all my family is buried I would not have. Rosewood has always been my families choice going all the way back to 1938 and I have never had an issue with them. Please do your research and compare prices if you are able. Taking advantage of grieving families is the lowest of the low.

There are "chain" funeral homes out there to simply make a profit. Please don't succumb to those experiences. Phillip Peevey runs a family oriented. caring business. Peevey Funeral Home will take your hand and caringly guide you through the rough waters to ensure your loved one has a dignified, caring, personal funeral and memorial service. It may be strange to mention it, but this family operated service costs much less than the funeral "chains". Trust Peevey Funeral to serve all your needs. I personally recommend them with the highest regard.

I cannot overstate how smooth our experience was with Peevey Funeral and Cremation (FORMERLY Niday…read moreFuneral Home). My dad had been ill for a while, so before he passed away, we had already met with Phillip Peevey to discuss arrangements and make some decisions ahead of time. When my dad left us earlier this month, Phillip was comforting, prepared, and so helpful. He assisted us in not only choosing a casket and making cremation arrangements, but communicated on our behalf with the church where my dad would have his services held (the Vietnamese Martyrs Catholic Church). His familiarity with the church's preferences on funeral arrangements meant that every step of the way, Phillip had answers to the questions we asked (I am quite confident he has similar relationships with other churches as well -- he is kind and thoughtful and a pleasure to work with). He knew the priests at the church well and was able to call them himself to confirm dates and times while we were in meetings with him. The facilities at Peevey were lovely and we felt so comfortable hosting our visitation there -- our friends and family who came to pay their respects to my dad loved that we were able to display awards and recognitions of my dad's that were meaningful to all of us, and the screens in the main chapel allowed us to show a rolling slideshow of photos that we loved. At every step of the way, Phillip looked out for our family to ensure we were able to do for my dad what he had wished to be done. He was personally present at the visitation, at the church for funeral services, and accompanied my dad and my family to the cremation center after the services were concluded. Phillip was considerate, respectful, and made the difficult process as easy as we could ever have hoped. The staff at Peevey were equally respectful and a pleasure to work with. There is no other place I could have imagined helping us through the farewell process we were able to give my dad that would have offered us more dignity and kindness. Peevey Funeral and Cremation has my absolute highest recommendation, and Phillip Peevey my true respect and gratitude.
