This place is not wheelchair accessible and two employees were very rude, and ableist towards a man in a wheelchair with his daughter who were trying to visit their mother's/wife's grave. This is unacceptable behaviour. On Mother's Day too? Atrocious and disgraceful. If you have a loved one who is disabled, please avoid this place. They're not friendly towards the handicapped. read more

I am beyond impressed with the team here. This morning while on the feeder to 45 my tire blew out right in front of the drive where the back maintenance shop is. The general manager, Jeff, took no time in coming out to help me. Shortly after, another employee joined him. Even after the spare was on, Jeff made sure I made it to the Discount Tire down the road safely. While the employees greeting you at the front door are important, I would find the most comfort in knowing that people like Jeff are the ones caring for my loved ones. I do not have family at this location, my mother is at a different Forest Park in the Houston area. At that location, I've been just as looked after by their team. I'm grateful for the company's consistency in hiring the best humans for a job this important. read more

Forest Park East Funeral Home & Cemetery at 21620 Gulf Fwy, Webster, TX 77598 put my family through unjustified heartache today. My grandmother passed away Wednesday, 5/24 after being on hospice for heart failure and resulted to having to be placed in a nursing home after their house was pulled out from under them. After she passed, the nursing home had to remove her promptly and we had to ask the nursing home to leave her there until we could come be with her and break the news to my grandfather. As they had removed him from the room at the time and he did not know of her passing yet. We had no choice but to quickly move her to a mortuary where they started to prepare her body. We have been struggling finding a place to hold her viewing and funeral service at (she is to be cremated & the place managing her body could only fit a very small amount of people) due to it being a holiday week. Including churches saying they aren't open again until Tuesday to make arrangements. We reached out to Forest Park, where my grandmothers parents are buried and my grandmother and grandfather own funeral plots. They told us they would be able to accommodate a 3 hour viewing and a small family ran service this upcoming Thursday. We had family and friends already buy plane tickets and make arrangements to be in town during that time. The funeral home was scheduled to send us the contract today to sign and make payment. They notified us today they would not be able to accommodate the services because they would not be handling her body or the cremation. We spoke with various funeral homes after to desperately try to find a new location to honor my grandmother and give her the service and celebration her as she deserves. They all stated they had NEVER heard of such a quote, "ridiculous", thing and that funeral homes share business like our request all the time and there is no law preventing funeral homes to host viewings or services, even after preparation has started. And none had even heard of funeral homes having a policy such as this. I am BEYOND disappointed in Forest Park. My family has lost so much in the past couple months and now dealing with the passing of my beloved grandma. We finally found relief when plans for her service has been made. As if planning a funeral for a loved one wasn't difficult enough, the rug gets pulled out from under us THREE days before we are scheduled to facilitate her funeral. Their lack of empathy, understanding, & compassion is unacceptable. Even after they told us they would not be able to accommodate, they still showed no empathy or understanding to our situation. Sounds like this business is founded on GREED instead of basic human morals and taking care of people in their most vulnerable and difficult times. They have numerous bad reviews and a one star rating. I'm hoping by an opportunity to share this story, that it prevents others from the heartache of going what we have gone through with this Forest Park. What if this was your mother, or your grandmother? Would you want to go through this or your family go through this? So if she was not being cremated and we wanted to have a burial at her plot, we wouldn't be able to do so because her body was already being prepared? I'm sure they could find a way to make arrangements to accommodate if they were personally drowning in an unfortunate circumstance such as this. Even an honest answer why they could not accommodate, rather than a bold face lie, would have been better received than this. & then to try to turn it around on us saying they thought we would just be bringing her ashes after we specifically told them in complete detail the circumstances. My grandma always says money was the root of all evil, and she was not far from the truth. read more

If I could give a 0, I would. Each service request, I was informed I would need to pay in full before getting the requested service/item. We paid in full the amount needed for burial/perpetual care. Yet, we had to beg for 3 months when my husband's gravesite needed to be filled when it sunk in over a foot. Due to the experience, I went to another vendor to get a headstone and informed them of it. The person I worked with begged me to give him the business and he would make it right. I signed a contract and paid in full (over $4,000) on 1/6/21. It is now 8/17/21 and I am (for the 3rd time) being told another date. DO NOT TRUST THEM TO RESPECT AND TAKE CARE OF YOUR FAMILY! read more

Outstanding group of people! We had to say goodbye to my 6 month old grandson. I know it is their job but they did it with heart! I will forever be grateful to Jessica and Fernando (everyone was great. These two just stood out). I felt like Jessica was walking beside us so that we were not alone in this. Again, I know it's their job but not once did I feel like it was their job. Everytime I turned around to ask or find something...she was there. This place made a traumatic experience of losing my mom an actual nightmare. Someone dropped the ball on ordering food from the caterer and when they didn't show up the day of the funeral they kept making excuses and lying about it and finally we found out they didn't even order the food to begin with. We missed out on time being able to have a lunch and celebrate my mom with all of her family and friends we had to send everybody home. And all we got in return were excuses. They order different food and sent it to our house which didn't arrive until almost 3 hours later and by that point there was nobody there to eat it. With our recent loss it sounds and feels a little strange to say our recent experience was a good one, but the staff at Forest Park East specifically the funeral director, Jessica Finch made this very sad time in our life much more bearable. Jessica's professionalism and sense of care was truly outstanding. Jessica and staff took their time guiding us through all the steps and options. At no time did we feel any pressure, just straight talk Q&A. Sad to say, but we will all face the need for this final service and in my opinion Forest Park East is deserving of this high rating. When a loved one dies suddenly, grieving family members rely on the coordination and expertise of the funeral home they select. Our precious mother died suddenly on April 17th. We hired Forest Park East Funeral Home and paid them an awful lot of money. There was already a family plot reserved and paid for at the closest cemetery. So many things went wrong. We had carefully selected Mom's favorite hymns to be played during the slide show at the viewing. They completely ignored this and played their tacky canned music instead. We had selected family pictures to be displayed that were never brought out. During the viewing, when the family members were saying a few words of remembrance and a final farewell to Mom, the "coordinator" who was absent yet again, couldn't be bothered to lower the music so we could hear what people were saying. But the WORST is this - Dad did not want to see his wife of 60 years lowered into the ground. Not only did they ignore this request, but also had an earth mover and men in hard hats show up in the middle of the burial service. I realize that this is a personal preference NOT to see the casket lowered, but poor Dad cannot get that image out of his mind now. The family paid 17K to this place and I couldn't even get a returned phone call from their corporate office, SCI - Service Corp. Int'l. In the future, we will seek out a small, maybe family owned, funeral home. These big corporate giants only care about taking as much money as possible from grieving families. read more

Unprofessional is the least of my complaints. Obviously, burying a loved one is a terrible thing, and funeral homes and cemetery staff must always be focused on putting their best foot forward and with the highest degree of professionalism and tact. Despite my grief, I was still trying to give them the benefit of the doubt. It's been 5 day since I provided management with the opportunity to reach out, so I'm posting this now. To start, I had the funeral home I was working with reach out to arrange a Sunday burial. Yes, I understood it would cost more, and yes, I was willing to work with them on times. They told the Funeral Director I would not only be forced to pay the additional $1100 fee for a Sunday (an understood additional Sunday fee), but if I REALLY wanted that particular Sunday (they claimed to have availability regardless), I'd also have to pay an ADDITIONAL $1600 on top of the $1100 for a particular type of burial they referred to as "the wilbur way." Mind you, I've been told by multiple people in the industry to NOT use them (due to these types of reasons), but what do you do when your mother's final wishes were to be buried here??? Without going into all the details, there were multiple delays, and unprofessional bumps along the way over the next 3 days that blew away not only myself, but my entire family who were present as well. To top everything off: ON THE DAY/TIME OF MY MOTHER'S FUNERAL... our group was driving to the back from our meeting point in the front parking lot, and they had ANOTHER FUNERAL PROCESSION leaving AT THE SAME TIME!!! Mind you, this was within 10 minutes of our official start time on a MONDAY! When we called to complain, verbatim: "Well, you were driving back after 12, and it's now 12:10." Wow. No one out there to ensure we drove around the opposite side? No one to make sure nothing like this EVER happens? Screw you guys. Seriously. I've never, ever, ever experienced that level of unprofessionalism, and during THIS time in our lives? DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE. FYI, at every step, multiple staff kept using "we're still suffering from the flooding after Harvey" for every single little thing that happened...Sorry, but you not being prepared, constantly giving us attitude, and straight rudeness, not communicating, AND trying to rip us off has nothing to do with any flooding damage you're still fixing/dealing with from TWO & A HALF MONTHS AGO. We were all affected, and most of us have put processes in place, and communicate these processes POLITELY to our own customers. Oh, and of all the locations in the area, they are quite easily the most expensive. read more

I do grave walking for a website called FindAGrave and have several requests for Forest Park East. When I went out there the first time to get a map and make sure it was ok, the woman at the desk as you walk in was very snotty and told me she would call someone. She hung up and said I could only take pictures with requests. I asked her if she would like me to bring them in after printing them off FindAGrave. She called someone and asked them if they would "come up here and explain this to her". A man came up and I explained to him again what I wanted to do and he said if it was on FindAGrave, that WAS the request and it was ok. I just went out there yesterday to do more work and stopped at the office because the locations are plots, lots, numbers. I asked another snotty woman this........."I was told if I have requests I could take pictures of a headstone but I have a question"....her response...."Ooookkkkkaaaayyyy". I asked her how could I tell in a particular lot what section was what and she said there were small sqaures in the ground with that information on them....BS. I found the little stones but they had letters on them, not section numbers. I took some of the pictures I had requests for and little do they know because of their attitude I took some I didn't have requests for. I would NEVER recommend Forest Park East to anyone because if they are that way with someone asking questions, I'd hate to see how they treat a family that is mourning. Sad thing is, they are owned by Dignity just like Forest Park Lawndale and Lawndale is WONDERFUL. I couldn't find my grandmother's grave so I called the office and a very nice man told me if I'd have stopped at the office he would have taken me out there. He sent two very nice ladies out there that showed me exactly where the grave was, AND they don't say you have to have requests to photograph headstones. My question is, if they are both owned by the same company, why is it ok at one and you have to have requests at the other? Makes no sense to me read more

I didnt know what to expect in planning my moms funeral. We didnt have prior arrangements but my grandmother had plots here. Marigrace, Adrienne, & Eric made this process a very smooth & comfortable transition for my sisters & I. They were more than helpful & very flexible with meeting & even reached out to us from their personal cell phones. I was extremely happy with the way my mom looked in her casket. She looked the same like she was sleeping like s baby at peace. That was a huge sigh of relief for me. I was so anxious to see her. I had trouble sleeping but after I saw her for myself I felt so much better. I would definitely recommend their services to anyone looking to make arrangements. They also helped us with what to do with my moms death certificates & how to go about that business. They even offered a counseling hotline free for 13 months post my moms funeral.
