My wife has Dementia/Alzheimer's. It's all in her records. Everything my wife has is documented through the Upstate system. I had an ambulance bring my wife in on 6/20/2026 because she was indicating she was in pain. I had already heard the nightmares of walking in to the ER and thought coming by ambulance would be more attentive to my wife's situation and for that part, I was right. While checking my wife in, I indicated numerous times that my wife has Dementia/Alzheimer's and cannot be left alone because she would be confused and frightened. What did they do? They put her into a room with FOUR(4) other patients with nothing but a thin curtain separating everyone and left her alone. I had a feeling that they left her alone and I was right and when I pressured them, they let me go sit with her. For the next 10 hours, I could not believe what my wife and I had to experience. Insane waiting times for everything. Hearing the other three patients problems and resolves. Hearing the other patients in pain. Hearing the other patients on their phones. Hearing what the other patients were playing on their phones to kill the egregious wait times. The loudness. The banging of walls and furniture being dragged from one place to another. Every sound that was to be heard left my wife thinking it something to do with her and the whole of it all was just blowing her mind. There was bits and pieces of medical trash on the floor everywhere. We were right outside the nursing station and it sounded more like a bar because the profanity and defamed talk about other patients left me completely in shock. After many, many hours of waiting my wife was finally getting tested. Bloodwork, CT scans, EKG scans, X-rays. When all was said and done, I reminded the nurse Darwin twice to please make sure to remove all the electrode connectors before discharging her to go home. Guess what I found when I got my wife home home? A body full of electrodes and tapings that were never removed, leaving me to have to do it myself. I will say that the staff and doctors were polite and courteous to our faces, albeit the experience as a whole was more like something out of a third world country. The outrageous prices and costs that come after this woeful experience does not justify anything whatsoever and that's why security is so tight in these places. Once you see the bill, you'll want to go in there and take things into your own hands. YOU are not getting what you pay so much money for out of your hard earned paychecks and your Gestapo styled taxes that are stolen from you. When the prices paid matches the experience occurred, then we will have nothing to gripe about. I'm embarrassed to say that I was born in this building when it was under the Community General Hospital flagship. Something has to give to justify the ways and means. I never thought I would say to stay away from all these hospitals unless it's absolutely necessary...but yes, stay away.

I threw it while I was in an argument. I am not making this up. I am not lying. After being sent to Hutchings, the social worker and therapist insisted there was something wrong with my brain. I'd tell them my issues with my parents and people around the town, and they would roll their eyes and look at ceiling. The television was on all night and when I'd tell my doctor about this the staff would insist I was hearing voices. Originally I was on the "south" side, where people of "ethnicity" were. The people there were very scary and they then sent me to the "west" side after complaining many times. The food was practically inedible, probably worse than the food you would see in a prison. On the West side the staff would call me names like "kike" and they would write reports saying what I was doing at every moment. I had told my doctor that my parents were abusive and when she would ask for examples would say that my dad had borderline personality disorder and that my mom had been stealing and wearing my underwear. There is many other examples but I will not say them in this review. One time as a prank I had set up a mannequin to scare people. It looked like a child with a blanket over him, completely white similar looking to a ghost, and I had created it out of the two hampers, some pillows and a pair of shoes I didn't use. My social worker told my mom that I should be kept in there longer since I was having hallucinations of a ghost. I also asked for a belt since my pants were getting baggy because I was rapidly losing weight from malnourishment. They never gave me a belt. I also asked for a book, band-aids, a purple sweater, and a CD player with jazz Cd's that my mother had given the staff for me, and they never let me have those things the whole time I was there even though they told my mother that they had given them to me. I also got an infection on my face, from a pillow that the staff gave me that reeked of urine. The first week I was not allowed to go outside, and they didn't even let anyone go outside. After a week of complaining, we were allowed to go to the "patio", which was the size of a very, very small backyard. For "group" the activity organizer made us do things like read children's books and paint using acrylic with overused brushes. I kept on asking if I they would let me have a discharge since I needed to get back into school before it started, and instead they made me go to "school" with a teacher who didn't know anything about the assignments I was given from my school. My mom had short visits with me and the staff would act completely different when she was there and she was not allowed to see where I slept because of a "policy". The temperature was constantly 62 degrees. I had said to my doctor once, "How's that insurance money working out for you?" And she turned a deep shade of red. After my discharge I was in worse shape then I was in originally, and I was just acting so they would let me out. On the day of discharge they made me fill out a form rating the hospital, and they said that it was required for when I would leave. My hands were shaking and I rated everything "good" to "excellent" because I was afraid they were going to keep me in there longer if I didn't fill it out they way they wanted. The whole time I was filling it out the doctor would stare me straight in the eyes. My mom would also stare at me the whole time I talked and would cake herself with makeup, and she would never wear makeup at her job or in real life. She was also wearing gold earrings that I had in my jewelry box, and when I got angry and said that my mom stole them from me she would say to the doctors that I was lying about it. There's much more to this story but I think you can get the picture from this review. I also think a guy from the staff was having sex with one of the patients.

THEN your practice had the NERVE to discharge her because she didn't agree with coming in initially, but then when she tried to schedule an appointment there wasn't one available! Not a good look, since she ended up in the urgent care having such a bad attack they had to throw everything and the kitchen sink at her attack to calm it down. People DIE from asthma attacks, so for your practice to be so callous is disgusting. I wish I could say that that was bad enough, IT WASN'T. Your practice retaliated against my father by not answering his phone calls about his own medical issues. That resulted in a serious complaint, of which NO ONE in your practice did a damn thing. There wasn't even a resolution provided. Now let's talk about the utter failure on your practice's part in treating my father properly. Since 2019, your practice consistently treated him for what?... A FRICKEN UTI! That is an abnormal issue and a first sign of bladder cancer in men. Instead of upholding your hypocratic oath, your practice opted to simply run a generic in office test, instead of sending it out for further testing. SINCE 2019! The laziness knows no bounds. It wasn't until your practice retaliated against him for the ridiculous issue you took with my mother, forcing both of them to go to Upstate Internist Associates in MAY 2023, at the initial visit, that my father was diagnosed with the most aggressive form of bladder cancer. In fact, the cancer was at the wall, about to breach other organs, when my father was told that his entire life was about change fast. He lost everything, his bladder, his ability to function at a full-time job, he wasn't even close to retirement age, your malpractice and negligence destroyed the financial stability of my parents, and your practice ruined my dad's life. He can't work, he can't do the basic things he loved, like drag racing, he even enjoyed working as a printer press operator, which he'd done for over 35 years. Your practice's malpractice and negligence destroyed so much for both of my parents. And the truly fucked up part? Your practice is going to get away with it because NYS is a fucking prison on planet bullshit. May your Wi-Fi remain as slow as your intelligence, and may every cup of your shitty coffee be simultaneously burned and cold.
