Came to the ER on a late Sunday night and was very surprised at how nice & new it was. They checked me in quick and held me for a few hours after relieving my pain. Unfortunately, I had to come back for emergency surgery, but the staff at admitting and upstairs were very helpful and super-respective of privacy laws. Only spent one night and never got to try the food from the cafeteria-ordering service, but I did try a turkey sandwich that many hospital regulars heartily endorsed. They even had wallet cards where you could record your desire to be taken to Crouse. Hope I don't have to come back. PS- Came back and the hot food was delivered and very good. My mother was sent there due to a medical issue causing her to be unable to move (keep in mind she was getting around just fine in her wheelchair the day prior). Her care has been LEAGUES below subpar at best. If she used her call button, the staff went to her roommate first (as the roommate is apparently very wealthy) - so you're going to give special treatment to a person who never worked for the money they have and ignore a veteran? REAL CLASSY. She also had her IV monitor beep for over 3 hours Sunday evening (4/26/26) before anyone even remotely checked it (this is after she had used the call button as well. She also had one "Doctor" tell her that her medical condition was all in her head. Another stated they have no idea what was causing it, but didn't deem it necessary for further tests to rule anything out. Then they put her on IV Antibiotics (and when staff was asked why) they informed her they didn't know and it was ordered. If you go to this place, be prepared for the same level of ineptitude and lack of care as Samaritan Hospital in Watertown NY (they have put my mother's health at risk 3 times in 2 years due to their negligence and high "quality" doctors that don't know what they are doing. horrible. just horrible. not worth, id rather die than go here again and i was a visitor. my mom has been there for 2 weeks with norovirus, upper respiratory infections, and a hole in her colon. regardless of all of the obvious signs of discomfort and anxiety and such, they refuse to give meds, finally get meds to help her with pain and anxiety then reschedule them every other day. doctor brown is the worst here, DO NOT LISTEN TO HIM! he changed the meds with no authority more than 3 times, without mention of doing it. everything here is worse than hell and deserves to be dealt with caution. (power also went out for more than a day, how the heck does that even happen at a HOSPITAL? we BEGGED for lights at 10pm. please take notice, go somewhere else!) read more

This place is the worst place ever, first off my mother goes here for the first time because I thought st Joe's treated her like crap, nope you guys are absolutely awful and the Dr, vignarajah wouldn't even let my mom show him how much water she has on her, they told her she needs to leave, and they told her she's lucky it's weekend or else she would be out that same day, its beyond hot in the rooms, they put her in the way back so nobody can hear when she screams, they take her call thing away so she can't get to it, they give her less medication that she normally takes at home so it's not helping her what so ever, they took medicine away only giving her Tylenol Which doesn't do a damn thing, the whole hospital smells like a toile, I didn't even wanna breathe in that hospital, the staffs are just rude as all can be, these people need to all get fired, they only treat woman who come in to give birth good ish, even that was iffy but there was a lot of good staff but not for patients that's for sure, I really think this place should ether fire every single person and hire people that actually wanna do their job or the whole place should get shut down, oh and on top of that my mom asked them to wash her because unfortunately she cannot and they said yes and never did it, and two days later when she asked again they washer her arms and half of her back, they are absolutely lazy and don't deserve to work with patients at all, they clearly don't like their jobs. I am grateful they saved my life and removed clot quickly i was a stroke victim in the icu all I heard was nurses complainand talking not quiet at all than transferred to 6 floor which was worse . I never saw my nurse unless I deliberately made my bed ring. A nurse who claimed to be with me the week never saw her once. I was there with my mother 5 years ago as she was suffering stroke-like symptoms. She and I sat in the emergency room on a gurney-type bed for 24 hours as we waited for test after test. Then she was sent home. Once we got home, she was so bad I took her back when she finally received a bed upstairs. Fast forward five years after my mother had taken a life-threatening fall. They kept her in the emergency for 30 hours. She never saw a doctor who called or made a report to anyone and she was eventually discharged without a decent report of what was happening. My poor elderly father took her home, where she steadily declined until my sister got involved in taking her back. The attending physician at a competitive hospital cannot figure out why she was not admitted when she was in the ER. I am disgusted by this situation and hope no one else in the family has an emergency for fear of having to wait endlessly in an emergency room with little care and no on-staff advocates for patients. read more

I have always had a positive experience at Crouse. Either as a patient or a visitor, I have found Crouse seeks to maintain high standards.

Been in the ER two hours and they said we would see someone fairly fast as they are not busy. It feels like they are not busy. They just forgot we are here in room 1. I will never return, I would rather suffer at home then deal with the hassle, I went into the ER and had to wait 4 hours for shitty treatment and being moved around the hospital just to wait an hour each time I understand times are tough but still the lack of communication in this establishment is ridiculous.. read more

What a dumpster fire! My husband is presently a patient at Crouse. First of all , starting with the "gentleman " that was on the reception desk this morning, also the cashier at the cafe and a nurse up in 6th floor to name 3-many members of the staff are miserable! My husband was admitted Sunday and was in the hall being ignored for about 24 hours. He had 1 small meal in all that time. He saw 1 doctor in all that time. Finally got a room late afternoon Monday. No more doctors until he asked his nurse about his rights and checking himself out. Then the next doctor miraculously was able to see and consult. They have no patient advocates and one hand doesn't know what the other hand is doing. Today I asked if I could come up early ahead of visiting hours. If I had been told a hard no - courteously that would be one thing. Suzanne told me they are strict on visiting hours but offered to transfer me to her supervisor. I was put through to "Angela" who understood my scheduling predicament and said it was okay and just have the person at reception call her. This guy was an ass right from the get go and said everything to let me know he thought I was a delusional liar without saying those exact works. He was super self important-I can see why with such a prestigious job. . After a lot of folderol and a call to Suzanne I got no where . I had taken off from work and driven over for nothing - except to over pay for parking. Suzanne said her boss is Oscar not Angela and she had no idea why I was given the go ahead by Angela as there is no one there named Angela. Remember she transferred me over to her supervisor. So she puts Oscar on who was not at all understanding or accommodating . he was however rude and also insinuated-that i was either stupid or lying. He did agree to send someone down to take the bag personal items i had for my husband. this is where Theresa comes in. she thought my agitation was funny , that i left work expecting to be permitted to visit just to be treated rudely and turned away was funny too. she just walked away laughing-at my inconvenience and agitation-all over their error. no apologies or validating my justified irritation. Two stars because Nurse Robert and charge nurse Mary are great! most of the rest are like rude disrespectful Three Stooges. read more

i came in the er room today for 6 hours with a problem i already knew about which last night it incredibly came worst after my room screen was open seeing everyone walk by multiple stabs blood work and promise to get my pain and the unknown problem under control with the pain which i already knew the problem skip ahead they kicked me out of my room to this smelly big waiting room with other people either waiting to be discharge hooked up with ivs or have ivs in it was a uncomfortable hippa privacy i would think violation ( u could hear other peoples discharges) then took to another room with a bed i sat in a chair couldnt go in a bed bc of my pain they love keep that curtain open so everyone can look in 4hours later the bed had a sheet with a blood stain jump ahead did more test and after 6 hours told me about my problem i already knew about and couldnt do anything about my problem (basically im holding more blood in my lower belly) and send me off with pain meds which pain is more than that and see my women doc as i told them right now my women health care has not doing anything other than told me go to the er WORST EXPERIENCE EVER at least oneida hospital er they do test misdiagnosed and diagnose you and send you on your way in 3 hours and keep you in one room the whole time read more
