My last stay there was in 2006; for quite an intensive surgery. Life Saving Bypass. I was rolled into ICU, still intubated & the nurses shift was ending after 3 PM. She asked the recovery nurse, Why are you dumping her on me? As a Nurse myself, Who could hear but not speak; I was anguished & thankful her shift was ending. The next day, I was wheel chaired to the med/surg unit. I asked to be bathed. They threw wet wipes on the tray table...DIY, I guessed. Day 3...I Demanded to Shower...a nice make nurse got me to the shower & disappeared. I managed, despite an incision from breast bone to pubic bone. No TY to them. Just started as a new patient, had x rays done a 5mm kidney stone was found, but it's impossible to even get through to the receptionist to even schedule an appt. I requested call backs 3 times and got no call. The quality of care is unacceptable. It's not the doctor it's the fact that im being told on a recording that my wait time is less than 59 minutes!!!! That was enough to make me have to find a new primary with a potentially dangerous situation with the kidney stone. UNACCEPTABLE read more

The practice desperately needs better staff training and management oversight. I've been a long-time patient because the doctor is good, but the staff at this practice--especially the nurses--can be unprofessional and disrespectful. I interacted with the office manager to get her feedback and she herself was unprofessional and dismissive. I recently moved to Syracuse and scheduled with Crouse as a new patient (I just needed a new PCP). I had to wait 3-4 months for my appointment but that was fine and expected. Then, I got a letter saying they had rescheduled me to 2 months later from the original appointment. I called to request an appointment for sooner, and was told I could come in on the original date, during a different time slot. (Side note: the receptionist I spoke with was very rude, but nonetheless, I assumed she would be competent with her job.) The day of the appointment, I arrived and was informed that, although there were records of my call rescheduling the appointment back to the original date, the appointment itself had never been rescheduled. It had been left on the later date, and I would have to come back at that time (after I had already taken off of work for this appointment). The receptionists in the office were kind enough (in contrast to the person I spoke with on the phone), but just shrugged off their colleague's mistake. Given the reviews from others here, coupled with my own experience, I will be taking my business elsewhere. I don't want to put my health in this practice's hands, no matter the quality of the doctors themselves (which I have no idea of, since I was never seen). It's a bad look to mess up like this for a new patient and then take no accountability or action for it. read more

Crouse Medical Practice in Brittonfield DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME, MONEY OR ENERGY... I had been with Dr. Brodowski since I was 15, following him from office to office then he settled at Crouse Medical Practice and chose a well deserved retirement. When the Doctor had a filled schedule I would see the PA assigned to Dr. Brodowski Dylan Rodner. I immediately had a great rapport and was comfortable with him, the time he took & his desire to help me to get to the bottom of my health issues. I called numerous times in attempt to get onto Dylan schedule after my Doctor retired and was unsuccessful. I was NEVER comfortable with the PA who's schedule they put me on. I was told I was required to write a letter to the practice manager. I wrote the letter as requested and told it still that I would not be able to be put on Dylan schedule. Again after having been Dr. Brodowski's patient and having this rapport with Dylan Radnor I don't understand why Crouse Medical Practice wants to push people out the door versus keeping good patients in the practice. I felt the need to write this review after reading the negative reviews. I've been a patient here since maybe 2000 (with a break from 2003-2007 when I lived in another city) and I have to say that I love my doctor and his staff. I've never once had any problems as a newer patient or as an established patient. The staff is always courteous and expedient, and the doctor and nurses always spend as much time with me as necessary. I don't mind waiting a few minutes in the waiting room; I've always been seen quickly and close to my appointment time. I would never even consider switching doctors, unless mine (eventually!) retires. I've never had trouble making an appointment. read more

I have always been pleased with my care. They have access to much of what you need on site (GP's, PA's, nutritionists, labs, respiratory physicians). The staff are knowledgeable and caring. My husband visited a PA for a regular follow-up of a minor condition. As she was leaving he mentioned that he sometimes had heartburn when mowing the lawn. She immediately stopped, listened and arranged for a test. In the end, her willingness to stop and listen, literally saved my husband's life. Another time, we called due to an alarming illness (fever, redness). It was a holiday week, they were fully booked and short staffed. They said to just come in and they would figure it out. He was looked at and in a bed in the hospital within 2 hours. Again, waiting could have resulted in a very negative outcome. My only issue, is a recent sleep study and CPAP purchase. Everything went well, my care was excellent. But, the actual future costs were not explained well enough. So, I was surprised at the cost. That surprise was not necessary. Also, I don't care for their outsourced billing service. read more

This review is about my daughter, Caitlin's office visit in Dec 2020. After coming home from an in-patient facility in Nov 2020 she saw Stephen Senenko, PA at Crouse complaining of excruciating itchiness. He took a quick look and said it was "just a rash." She told him she had been using an OTC cortisone cream and he said she needed a much stronger steroid ointment. He did no testing and did not refer her to a dermatologist. After using the steroid for quite a while and subsequently moving to CA, she is still battling an atypical mite/parasite only made more resistant from the initial use of the steroid (see PubMed.) She has been given meds for scabies (Permethrin, Ivermectin, etc) and she has been following strict daily care routines and they have helped until there is a new outbreak due to new eggs so it's cyclical and it has been devastating for her. She feels if she had been properly tested and diagnosed in Dec 2020 she would not still be battling this horrible condition today. She has not been able to work, is depressed and is seeing a therapist and is in quite a bit of debt now. read more

Their service has completely gone downhill since many of their long term Internists up and quit because of beauracracy. Used to go in once/ year for basic prescriptions, now their policies are to try charging for multiple visits where they can, twice during 1 physical exam stating I mentioned something out of scope such as back pain and a different prescription. Proceeded to deny basic refills 3 months later requiring I must come in again! So basically, 3 visit charges in three months to keep cholesterol and BP in check which had NEVER happened the previous 7 years of seeing previous Dr. I moved and because of their constant denials I've been a month without one of my medications. Avoid this place like the plague and find a place with more old fashioned values than pencil pushers. read more

My husband and I recently moved here from Arizona and began the long, arduous process of finding new physicians. Crouse came highly recommended from our friends in the area so I called stating we were looking for primary care doctors and would also like recommendations for the specialists we would need to replace ad well. After being told that the doctor was accepting new patients we were asked about our medical conditions and current medications. My husband is a cancer survivor (cancer free since 2013) and I have a spinal deformity that has to be dealt with through specialists. There was a sudden, sharp change in attitude after this. We were told they would have to see if the doctors would be willing to "deal with us". I recieved a very nasty message a short time later indicating Crouse would not be willing to see us as patients due to our "undesirable" medical history. There were other extremely rude things said that literally floored me. We had the same doctors for years back in AZ and have excellent health insurance as well as my husband having Medicare. In all the years we fought my husband's cancer and all the time we have spent with doctors, hospitals, different practices I have never experienced anything like this. Stay far away. You may become "undesirable" one day and find yourself dumped by these doctors. read more

You will wait a half hour on the phone to speak to a receptionist. Then you will wait three months for your first appointment. Then you will wait an hour or more to see your doctor. Then you will wait for them to fax over all your prescriptions to your pharmacy and your health records to your school, which will need to be resent multiple times because they keep forgetting things. But the bill? That will be ready for you as soon as you walk out the door. read more

I had a hard time finding a GP doctor when I moved back to the area in 2003. I settled on one practice in Liverpool that I quickly became frustrated with (but that's another review). About a year and a half ago, based upon the recommendation of a few coworkers I called Internist Associates of CNY (IACNY). I was lucky enough to be accepted to the practice, and since then I have been incredibly happy with IACNY. Their main office is located right across from Crouse Hospital, and the building is connected to a parking garage. I've never had to search for a spot very long. When I get into the office, I am always able to check right at the desk, and there has NEVER been a mix-up regarding appointment times or which doctor I'm seeing (unlike at some other offices I have visited). I usually don't wait more than 20 minutes before I am in with the doctor. And since it is a medium-large practice, if my doctor is not available, they always get me into see someone else - and usually the same day. At first I have to admit that worried me, but last year I became ill while my doctor was out of the country, and I was extremely happy with the NP that handled my case. She ordered the appropriate tests, and always called me promptly when the results came in. The office also has its own on-site lab, so there is no need to go someplace else and schedule another appointment for lab work. An added bonus is that their office is right across from Marshall Street by the university, so it's only a short walk to get a cup of coffee or some lunch before or after your appointment. I really can't say enough about this office. All the staff, from the reception area to the doctors and nurses, are friendly and helpful. I feel that I get excellent care with this office, and I would recommend it to anyone. read more

I have seen a male doctor for a over a year whom talks over me and doesn't address my concerns and pushes me out the door. I have always seen female doctors but this time, I thought I'd give the male a try. No compassion, which Crouse advertises. I called office to switch to a female doctor or NP. But per their rules, they cannot. Soooo I have to stay with a doctor I don't care for and not comfortable with??? But, if you want to drive out of the way, the other offices don't abide by this rule. I have been a patient there for many years. I started wirh Dr. Speller. Great dr. He then retired so I got dr. Seth Kronenberg. He was great for awhile then I saw a decline in concern or care of my issues.then this Crouse medical takeover occurred and it Really hit the Shitbed.! Niw I have a Dr Lentz, not happy @ all. I had to seek on my OWN for issues I needed addressed. I requested a certain dr./specialist, they failed to give a referral. Months waiting , I called the Specialist myself, to find out Dr. Lentz never sent in referral! Their Lab is just as Bad! Dont trust their Lab Results. I found out the hard way. read more

The Staff of Dr. Keib makes me less and less impressed every time I go there. From being harassed in the Lab by a stranger while the staff there did nothing, to the fact that they NEVER call in the prescription. I have had to call on a number of different times to get them to call it in. I also find it a little bewildering that they assume that you are someone else even though I sign in, and they see my insurance card with MY name on it- "oh sorry we thought you were Emily"-and I waited 20 minutes until they realized I had to go to a another room because I wasn't Emily. Wouldn't recommend unless you want really incompetent people diagnosing you. read more

Most of the people in this office are very rude, including Dr David DiCesar. I went in for an annual routine appointment. I mentioned to him that I was eating healthy and exercising, but wasn't losing weight and was concerned there may be a Thyroid issue. He said, without asking any other questions, that I was eating too many calories and seemed to brushed off the question. I could have been OK with that, but what I wasn't OK with was that fact that he said humans don't need food to survive, and that it is hard wired in our heads that we need food. He also said "if you lost weight before from not eating, then you should do that again" and that "nutritionists have no clue what they are talking about when they tell you to have a 1500 calorie diet, you could live on 100 calories a day". I told him he was rude and that I was asking for medical reasons and that he did not care. I walked out of the office and will not go back. I have also lodged a complaint and will take it as far as I can. I will not be treated that way by a Dr when I am going to them for help! read more

Great doctor. Poor service. You can stay on the phone for 20 minutes and they will tell you how important you are to them. You will be able to see your actual physician once per year so make sure you have all of your questions ready. read more
