Stayed here for 3 nights on our visit to Rome, booked via Tripmasters website (on which I selected our flights, our hotels, train travel, and travel insurance in one booking). I would say solid 3.75 stars, but I want to give them the benefit by putting 4 here. Stephanie (kitchen) and Giovanni (front desk, provided map) were helpful during our stay and spoke a lot of English.
PROS: Breakfast buffet was lovely each morning, with great juices, cappuccino or lattes, tea, frittata, fruit, yogurt, croissants, hard boiled eggs, etc. Stephanie was the breakfast staff, and while I was giving some newly arrived American tourists some of our travel tips, I enjoyed that I was able to make her giggle at my nerdy recommendations. Hard working woman!
Clean room and bathroom; Nice bathroom size (especially compared with just having come from our Venice hotel which was very cramped). Good shower head. I would say that the breakfast and nice shower were my two favorite parts of this hotel.
About an 8 minute walk to Termini Station, which is the most convenient station to be near since it is where the Linea A and Linea B trains transfer to one another. There is also direct airport train with the Leonardo Express from Termini. As well as the Italo Train (which we had taken from Venice). I suppose there might be closer hotels to the station, but I would prefer to be near this station than most other Metro stops for the convenience, and there was a grocery store not far from Termini on to the walk to the hotel as well.
CONS: The mini-fridge in our room was dirty inside, and didn't seem to be very cold. We had purchased groceries on our first day and they were looking wilted, so I don't know how well it worked.
Streets are quite loud, and the walls are pretty thin, so talk quietly out of respect for your neighbors, and hope that no fratboys and sorority girls are on a European spring break during your stay. read more
