I think it really all depends on what employee is looking at your clothes and it seems like one of the guys working there is the only person with the best fashion sense because they tell you why they can't take your stuff but have really outdated and sometimes beat up shoes. I was not welcomed to shop in this place I was treated as if I was illegally in this country, when, for all intents and purposes, my people were enslaved, captured, and brought here!. Item: BLACK, WHITE LEOPARD CASHMERE BLOOMINGDALE'S BUTTON DOWN SWEATER. As I received my credit for two items, they completely forgot to give me credit for the third item named above. Once I reached home I called and asked left a voicemail never received a response. Then I come in three days later my item is on sale I was never given the credit Norfolk call Lori turn phone call, and the front desk is sitting there, looking as if they're either on intoxicants that are known to inebriate. I asked them to look behind the counter to see if there was any sort of resemblance of my sweater, and they actually looked around for it, pretending they did not know it was on the floor when they looked my ID up to locate my previous activity , granted they are children by the end of the day nobody comes in there to be frustrated as we sit on this side of the counter, asking to be treated fairly well. They said they're looking at us like we're suspects I felt disgust, I feel humiliated I felt ridicule. The day manager with the red hair actually says what's the what's her name what's her name three times to the staff and the staff does not recollect my name nor did they attempt to ask me I had to suggest excuse me, ma'am are you asking my name this is all I could do because they did not want me there. I assured the front counter guy that I will never come back into the store again, but I also assured the day assistant manager, that they lack professionalism, and that it was aggravating, and she offered no solution to a very simple issue. It is my property I asked for it I need it, and she failed to give it to me. I actually had to take it off the counter, because she still was coming up with a cockamamie excuse as to why it was on their sales floor, but not offer credit on my account that I could use. SHE THOUGHT I WAS ASKING FOR MY MONEY BACK WHEN IT BACK I WAS ASKING FOR MY PROPERTY BACK BECAUSE I KNOW I HAD NOT RECEIVED A CREDIT FOR IT POINT-BLANK THEY ARE SHYSTIE. I DO NOT TRUST THEM. I WILL NEVER COME HERE AGAIN THANK YOU SO MUCH IN REVERSE. Least, Not forget that she also told the front counter guy to not buy any of my items, and walked away and effectively communicating that I was just not welcomeed!. Very clean and organized thrift store. Lots of well-known brands are available for sale and in great condition. It's a little more pricey than a Goodwill but the quality will make it worth it. I didn't purchase anything this time but I'm sure I'll be back in the future to actually shop - I was just window-shopping and scoping the place out today. I will say that I'm very disappointed in the staff. Not on person acknowledged my presence - no greeting on my way in or out, no "can I help you find something?", no "let me know if you need any assistance". Customer service is very important to me so I'm giving this place a three-star review based on that. If anything changes when I go back, I'll be sure to update. read more

Not really a fan of coming here like I used to. Lately it seems to be as though they don't really look at any of your items, but they take it out and pretend they're going through it. Then they place them all back within a matter of minutes and state they didn't find anything. Understandable if they didn't, but seriously, I witnessed it first hand. They're not really looking at any of your stuff. Recently I came here and brought a basket full of clothing. As I am holding it, I asked "do you want it on the countertop or..." but couldn't really get the words out my mouth before he interrupted me to sign in. Umm ok... rude. I never seen this guy before, and I come every few months for years and see the same lady. It seems as though I get better luck by bringing items by the hanger. I remember a few years ago bringing tons of clothing in by the hanger and they literally gave me almost $90 for what I brought. Now, most of my clothing are folded to eliminate the weight I carry in and out of the car. Because the clothes are folded, they don't even bother going through most of them. It's a shame service is not what it used to be. I don't recommend coming here unless you enjoy rude service and a waste of your time. read more

I went in yesterday Laquin for some pants and some tops for a vacation trying to save a little money. It wasridiculously up priced. I could not believe the prices of the blouses and the pants that I looked at. I literally walked out. Guys stick to the Goodwill the Salvation Army. I tried selling here at least three times and each time I go they tell me they can't take my pieces that they're outdated. I don't know how can be outdated when I shop the clothes that they pick so that doesn't make sense but I still go to look for some Reasonable pieces not anymore. I don't think I found a pair of pants less than $24 when you can buy them for 699 at the Goodwill stay away from this place robbing people left and right while the owner is getting rich. read more

I've been here twice with my best friend. The first time we came to shop and I found 2 cute pieces. The prices are pretty hefty for a thrift shop, but the quality is pretty good in the selection we went through. Next, the 2nd time we visited, my best friend was looking to get a quote for two large bags of designer and high-end clothes. Most of these clothes had their tags still on and were brand new. They offered her $18 for both of the bags. Absolutely not. I will not be returning--I would rather just shop retail at this point knowing how low they pay people who bring their old clothes there. read more

Love this place! I also like their new location in Rice village, it's really spacious and clean. Everything is organized pretty well here too. Workers are all really nice! Here's my experience with this store: Selling Clothes - 5/5 - I brought in 5-6 bags here for my first time selling. if there's a waiting line, just sign in, walk around rice village or browse the store, and bring your clothes in when it's time. (You can't leave the store with your clothes still there, so don't bring them in if you plan on walking around to other stores.) The buyer was soooo nice and helpful! She didn't make the process awkward or anything, she even encouraged bringing in more stuff to them! I feel like at Buffalo Exchange they can be very snooty, but not Crossroads. Buying Clothes - 4/5 - everything is very organized, but I feel like some of their prices are steep. I saw some forever 21 shirts for around $15. It's used. You can get new things from Forever for the same price of even cheaper! Overall, I think this place is worth stopping by! Way better than their competitors! read more

I am so glad for another option in Houston when it comes to buy/sell/trade in Houston. I dont plan on ever going back to the other competitor. Cleaner, more organized and a staff that doesn't make me feel stupid are a few of its winning points. They still lack a multitude of great plus size options but I know that's from a lack of my stylish larger ladies knowing if this gem. The store manager has done a great job hiring and training a knowledgable, kind staff. Had a fairly negative experience here not too long ago and management reached out. All I can say is WOW am I impressed with the changes (mainly that I did not see the employee I had a negative experience with prior). There are two employees that are ABSOLUTE GEMS and I always hope I have Running clothing intake Kim (who is a rockstar) and, I'm so sorry in advance if I get your name wrong/ spell it wrong, and Julian (could be Julius) who is very very sweet and quite professional. As soon as I see these two working I know it's going to be a good experience! They're the best! (Ok now time for the embarrassing part) I had come in early one day and had sold some clothing items and, long story short, needed one of the items back that same day. Needless to say this was quite a predicament as I had already been paid out for all of my items I'd sold. Kim, Julian, and another girl named Marina (sorry again if I butchered the spelling) worked together to solve the issue and it was resolved. Very happy and impressed with their hard work and effort. I really felt like a valued costumer. I really hope someone from management also views this and they are at least commended for all of their wonderful work! read more

Very wide and diverse selection of contemporary brands from mid range brand names to no names. Highly recommend for both buying and selling at discounted prices. The selling process is also very easy and fast on a Monday evening. The staff is responsive and respectful to everyone. They are especially very picky on what clothing items they buy too based on the current season and fashion trends! Out of a large plastic bag of my clothes, they only picked one item to sell. Much more impressed with Crossroads than its competitor, Buffalo Exchange. Truth be told, both places are picky when it comes to selling; however Crossroads was definitely less crowded and the overall selling experience was just better. I also appreciated how the store was so organized. Many/most of the racks were organized by piece (dress, tops, etc), size and even better-COLOR. If you have an occasion or event in mind and in a pinch, I think you will be much more likely to find what you need here than Buffalo. Had a very negative experience at the store. One of the employees kept rolling her eyes everytime I wanted to try something on. Recently I went with my sister and as we tried entering the store we realized it was closed because the same lady that rolled her eyes ran and shut the door in our faces without an explanation. The section is pretty good... it's organized nicely. My issue is that I bought a tank top (lululemon). All of the lululemon tank tops were priced the exact same that I had tried on. I found a weird yellow highlighter colored stain on the back, faint, but I noticed it right away. I asked if there was a discount for stains. Employee responded with "stains are factored into the price". I should've said something to her because that is clearly not true... All of the other five tank tops I tried on that were very similar to this one did not have stains so they have a trend of marking this brand's tank tops at the same price which makes sense. It just bothers me that she said that because most customers will say "oh okay" and then just try and get the stain out without thinking twice. To determine if I can get the stain out, I asked what she thought the stain was, and she said make up and that she saw sparkle on there. That was the furthest from the truth. I bought the tank top disregarding what she said because the stain was on the top back where my hair would cover it. I pre treated the stain and needless to say, the stain did not com out. I would just appreciate the truth. Especially because this is a resell shop, things aren't going to be in perfect condition so just be honest about it. I hope this store can rectify the situation and make it right. I've had many stores compensate with a gift card or 40% off one purchase if the customer is not happy. We'll see. read more

Incredibly fat-phobic and not size inclusive if you are a size large or above you will be ignored by staff and given nasty looks and the clothing selection for large and x-large was slim to none which is odd considering the average American women is a size 16 (a size they don't carry because they only cater size 14 and below). I really do like this store, and I hope they continue to grow and stabilize in this area (Rice Village). What I love most about it is that they don't have an overwhelming amount of stuff, and they seem to have good pieces that can be found (better brands, like Marc Jacobs, Maeve/Odille and other Anthropologie house brands, and many medium level brands - Gap, Ann Taylor, Zara, H&M, banana republic, etc). What I find odd is that there are multiples of the same pieces in different sizes with tags on, and the brand is unrecognizable to me; I don't remember the name (I will try to update), but it's as if they get shipments of overstock from that brand and try to sell it there. Those aren't the items I would pick out, and it seems to detract from what this store could ultimately be: an affordable but curated consignment shop that bridges the gap between Buffalo Exchange and a place like "More than you can imagine". I think the following improvements could help: [] clearly use sizers to mark what the dress sizes are in each round rack; [] take only undamaged clothing, unless the "damage" truly adds value (ripped jeans, for ex.) [] do something about the smell; even Goodwill has upped their game on that. [] price items to sell; if they aren't higher end brands, then they really should not be marked as such. I've consigned clothes with them already (or, I did the buyout option) and they definitely don't pay very much. If they wanted to be more edgy, they could take some cues from Buffalo Exchange, who have a really cool/eclectic collection of things that aren't so common...but I do like that you can go to Crossroads and dress yourself well for work in a professional industry, and not be paying excessively to do so. Their staff is quick to check you out, and they let you shop in peace - so not a lot of "can i help you" type of interactions...which is awesome. read more

Picked up a bunch of new, unique pieces (two pairs of nice jean shorts, a crop top, a romper, and a fancy dress) for around only $80! The clothing was in great condition. I completely understand that they are trying to be Covid friendly but they need to reopen their dressing rooms. Pre-Covid I would shop at crossroads minimum once a month now they don't allow people to try things one before they purchase them. I would never purchase a used article of clothing before I try it on. Now I go to other consignment shops such as moving pavements in Montrose who allow people to try stuff on before purchasing it. Please reopen the flitting room - y'all are literally my favorite consignment shop in Houston but I will not purchase clothes without trying them on. read more
