Towards the end of the night things escalated when my wife made a final request and I attempted to intervene to help her get one of her favorite songs played... which should not be so difficult on her wedding night?? The result was I ended up in a screaming match with the MC as he attempted to refuse the song. This song had no vulgarities or anything else about it that could be seen as offensive. The level of disrespect was unbelievable. Shortly after the altercation, the party came to an abrupt end and everybody filed out. Everyone did such a fantastic job. We were married in a small chapel and Evans playing was perfect for the atmosphere. We changed locations for the reception and Frank who was in charge of the DJ and MC was wonderful to work with. They worked with our bestman who played a sax solo as part of his speech. They provided a great range of music for everyone. It was beyond what we could have imagined. I was able to work with both Sarah & Amanda. Our wedding being a destination for us, they were so easy to speak with via phone or email. They talked us through set-ups and breakdowns of each portion of our day. I would 100% recommend them to anyone looking to hire musicians or DJs. They helped to make our day perfect and memorable.

Jose was professional and his prices were competitive. I was looking for a basic DJ and MC but he was way more than I expected. He had an awesome light show that he offered...lets just say my husband was drooling after that presentation and I had no choice but to say ok. We put the deposit down right away!!! We met a few days before the wedding to finalize the list of music and of course I was overprepared with 5 pages of music haha. But it was so comforting to know that he was familiar with a majority of the music. We were very worried that we wouldnt be able to find a DJ that could properly mix American, Carribbean and Spanish music. They did that and more. My wedding has been over 2 months ago and I still get calls about the DJ. They truly made the wedding and set the tone. The floor was literally jumping towards the end of the night!!! If only I could go back to that day!!! Jose even helped with non-DJ responsibilities...even just asking how everything was going!! Elegancia was magnificent and I will be calling for any major event that I have...You should too!!

I'll just put it out there - Elegancia Entertainment was a mixed-bag for us. Our collaboration with…read morethem started out well, but by the time our wedding was over, we were... underwhelmed. We met with them on a recommendation from my cousin. They did a great job at for him, and at the party I saw them DJ late last year. We met with the owner, Jose, and were impressed enough to book without seeing any other DJs. He innately has the elegance for which his company strives. He's a well organized, intelligent professional. We were sold on him, and his self-made photo booth. Things went a bit wonky months later when we later met the Emcee/DJ he assigned to us. You see, we had asked if he would be our Emcee, or emcee and DJ both. He said he could emcee, but there would be someone else DJing. We never confirmed with him that he was emceeing, and who we got was one of his contractors. After meeting this contractor, we saw he wasn't a great fit, but I knew I could pull together and supply enough music and provide all the cues he'd need. So we rolled with it. Our mistake. Another issue was that we thought we were hiring a 2-man team, but were told they need an extra hand, a lighting assistant. That's an extra vendor meal and extra tip, and we found out a month before the wedding. On the wedding day he missed the bride's entrance cue. I had listed out (and supplied) four different pieces of music, one each for the parents, the groomsmen, the bridesmaids and the bride. He didn't switch to the bridesmaid music when they walked out, so he thought their music was the bride's music. She wouldn't come out until our Maitre 'D rushed over to tell him to switch the music. As to the reception, things went well until the dancing started. He started our first (choreographed) dance without a cue - we rushed to be in position to start. The music during the reception was tepid - the consensus amongst the guests was that his set skewed older. He didn't read the crowd very well, and didn't really get what I was trying to convey during our meeting. There were a couple of other small matters, but the gist is that this guy didn't listen well - he suggested and defaulted to the things he had done before. He wasn't a good match for us, whereas we feel Jose would have been. Bottom line is this: We might recommend Elegancia in the future, but with these caveats. 1. Try to get Jose to emcee, or truly vet his contractors for fit. 2. Be sure to voice your concerns as soon as you have them. 3. Be very specific about your needs and wants. Maybe even micro-manage the music flow.

From start to finish, Frank was very professional and courteous, made sure we were comfortable with our selections, and even took time out of his schedule to help us with a few things he didn't have to do: such as editing a track for our 1st dance, helping plant a surprise for my wife's bridal shower, advising us on logistics for our rehearsal dinner and so forth. Telling you, above and beyond. After several months of going back and forth and finalizing the play list - a process that was not as painful as you think it would be, unless you aren't working with GDE :), the entertainment and music provided from the cocktail hour to the end of the night has even our guests still talking about until now. His team did a great job in incorporating our must-play list with some of their own selections, they knew the kind of songs that helped with transition with our music selection. If you're thinking of booking with them, save yourself time and go with GDE. Be sure to add the Live Percussions and Sax player, your guests will thank you for that later. Oh and did I mention they offer photobooths? Talk about hitting two birds with one stone. Their photobooth was so much fun - they even gave us a booklet of all of the strips and included guests writing in it!! They will bring out the fun in the party and have your guests dancing all night. Guaranteed. We cannot thank you enough, GDE!! Amazing reception through it all.

His budget was limited and he wanted to have these corny cameras on every table for the guests to snap pictures. To me, that's a little lame, I get that you want to see the wedding from the guests point of view, but the guests won't get to see them until you have them posted on social media. I remember being at a sweet sixteen for my niece that had a photo booth. Kids and adults alike were lining up to sit in there with all kinds of cool props and have their pictures taken. Luckily, my cousin had the business card for the vendor they used - Prints Charming. My cousin found Prints Charming online, she called and spoke to the owner directly (Meghan), and she gave her a great deal. I told my buddy about it, he and the bride to be loved the idea. So, I called Meghan and I was able to book the booth for a full 4 hours at a great price. It was fantastic! The guests had a blast, my buddy and his wife were happy and after making my speech, I was able to have drinks and take plenty of pics with the single ladies : ) Oh, and she was able to offer us a Social Media package where we were able to post all the photos online from the event. All of which The Candi Project met, much to our joy!!! Chris and Aenid are AMAZING to work with. They met with us about a week after I had reached out to them, and communicated with us to get all the info before our big day (which was only a few weeks away at that point!). The day of the wedding, they went to my now husband's place first to capture him getting ready and were infinitely patient when he was very late in coming back home from picking up his best man! They then came to my place to capture me getting ready with my ladies, then rushed to the church to set up their cameras for the ceremony. It was AWESOME having the dual team and THREE different camera angles at our ceremony. And they were with us at the reception until like an hour before the party ended - which was almost 12 hours!!! They were also ridiculously fast with the editing - our wedding was on 10/5 and they sent us the link to our highlights video YESTERDAY - only 3 weeks!! I can't stop watching our video. Everyone has cried watching it. I would not hesitate in recommending The Candi Project for any of your video/photo needs.
