There's a reason every person here wrote a 5 star review…read more I came to EDX on the recommendation of two friends to talk to Angelo about individual training. I was coming off a knee injury, had a handful of other aches and pains, and felt like my training (which I had been doing consistently for years), had started to plateau. Working with Angelo has been a game changer, and the depth of his fitness and coaching knowledge is absurd. Simply put, I've made measurable, significant gains in every area of my fitness. While I don't work directly with the other coaches or attend the classes (I use the open gym for the individual training plan Angelo writes for me) everyone on staff is friendly, helpful, and most importantly incredibly knowledgeable. There's no attitude here, just the expectation that you'll show up and work hard. Additionally - I've had multiple sessions with Liliana at EDX Bodyworks (the attached sports therapy clinic) - and she's a wizard, it's a great resource to have on hand for when tweaks and injuries pop up. I've been a member of probably 6 or 7 gyms, this is the best one yet, my membership will end when Angelo and Liliana decide to retire. No matter your fitness level, if you're serious about getting in shape do yourself a favor and give the EDX community a shot.

Great place to get fit, healthy and strong in a supportive community…read more I've been a member for just over 2 years and have been lucky enough to get to know all of the coaches in both the FIT and Crossfit classes. This gym offers a traditional CrossFit class, but they also offer a competitive class, a strength class, as well as a Flex class (similar to a CF boot camp style). What has really given this gym 5 stars is the fact that they have offered skills clinics (jump rope and gymnastics) - which has exponentially helped me in these aspects of my training. This gym definitely has a lot to offer and is well worth the investment!

I'd never done any olympic lifting before, and I initially thought it was really intimidating, but they are so great about teaching safe and proper form, and not pressuring you to throw more weight on the bar than you are ready for. In any workout they are able to give you options for modifying a movement if you have an injury, or maybe just aren't advanced enough to do the "Rx" version (me). It cost me $338 to leave this gym…read more I sustained an injury during a workout at Spenga. On the same day that they approved my "medical furlough" (putting my membership on hold while I was unable to workout), they charged me for a full month of membership, $169. My partner was also out on a medical furlough. When at the end of my furlough, my partner was still unable to return to the gym, I decided to end my membership. I called to cancel, but got talked into keeping my membership on furlough until my partner was well enough to return. When after a couple of months my partner was still out on medical furlough, we both decided to cancel our memberships. When I called to cancel, I pointed out that I had already been charged for an entire month that I could not use and had no intention of coming back to the gym. The owner, Stephanie, told me she required a "final payment" of an additional $169 along with a song and dance about how I could continue to use the gym until such and such a date, completely ignoring me when I told her that I had no intention of coming back to the gym. Think twice before committing to a membership here. It will cost you big bucks to get out of it. It's unfortunate because the instructors are great and really seem to care.
