More importantly, a place that values its customers. I first read the reviews which were great and thought it was too good to be true. I called and first spoke with Johnny. He answered all my 500 questions with great patience! Johnny came across as an enthusiastic professional with a great attitude and a true sense for customer service. This is difficult to find in today's world, where many businesses could care less about the customer experience. He came across as though my potential business was important and valued. Additionally, Johnny brings decades of expert experience in health and fitness to the table. If he's not at the front desk, you can find him training gym goers. I've been working out here for about a month and it has been an amazing experience. I'm here early, grinding it out and go! Everyone one is nice, respectful, and doing their thing. Johnny is always asking me how its going and about my experience. In this economy, it is our collective responsibility to support small local businesses that TRULY CARE about the customer experience and Porky's Hardcore Fitness definitely fits the bill! I'm in love with this place…read more I grew up in South Florida and used to train at a place called Porky's. It was loud, compact and intense. The scary type of gym people who don't know any better imagine, Except, there was nothing scary about it. Familiar faces, classical Equipment and the knowledge that you were gonna leave better than when you came. Miami Iron Gym takes me back to that. It's a place where grunting is allowed so long as you retail your weights. There's no link alarm and no texting. You don't workout, you train. No wannaBe drill sergeants shouting Etsy quotes at you while they film themselves. It's beautiful: people lifting. Imagine that. I was in town and didn't want to skip Leg day so I paid the drop in fee and spoke to Mr Juan at the front desk who was great. I made very sure to get my moneys worth in their variety of machines. This place is no frills and looks like the place you go to see some genuine changes in your mind and body.

I paid for 12 30 minutes sessions and was beyond disappointed, to the point I paid and didn't attend my last session. Carolina was my trainer and we did the same exact work out every time. She didn't push me, didn't motivate me, and all in all the workouts were things of common sense. You would think you hire a trainer mainly for the push, but it was not given. I saw NO results. Also, my 30 minutes were not respected. She would be training 2 of us at a time at times, and I paid more to have an individual session. Felt as though I wasn't her priority at all during my sessions, she seemed to be distracted a lot. She was nice but don't thing training is her forte. Also, not many machines & often there were women nearly naked rehearsing for body building shows.
