Went for the first time last week. Took a Monday night class. I think the "coach" was Ashley. I'm…read moresad this was my first experience because I was really looking to get help with my form. But the coach was too busy only "coaching" her favorites or friends. But she really is more of an annoying cheerleader. She did not come up to me once. The other coach who was not on a mic was really nice. And she corrected me with one exercise. I was just rather surprised and disappointed the lack of professionalism by the main coach as I would of expected her to be more interactive. Great place and great workout. Just look at the schedule and stay away from Ashley D.

My five star review comes with the disclaimer that I was only there on a 7-day trial pass…read more I was in the middle of sampling new gyms before committing to one. F45 had a 7-day unlimited pass. They don't require a credit card up front, so it's really no obligation. I think it's important to attend the classes you normally would (i.e. before work/after work), so you understand the size of the class. That said, as soon as I signed up, I checked the morning classes I wanted to attend. They fill up VERY fast, so 1-week prior, ensure that you book the class you want to attend or you'll get wait-listed. This, to me, was kind of stressful, as there are only so many slots per class. Since I signed up a week in advance, I was able to attend the classes I wanted. You snooze, you lose. Second, the instructors/staff are all friendly. They recognized my new face and gave a shout out at the beginning of class. They are pretty good at remembering names. It's a good mix of people, skewing towards mid-late 20's. The gym seems catered to millenials, to this old man (e.g. interval workouts, quick songs, rah-rah from coaches, and station rotation). Because it is High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT), the weights are lighter with more reps and less rest. Your body doesn't get accustomed to any one movement. You get coaches' support to keep pushing through that helps keep you honest. I will say that you'll get a workout. It took a few rotations before I really started to get winded/sweaty. By the end, I felt I had a good lather and workout. It seems like it could be intense for beginners/out-of-shape people, but will melt fat if you commit to keep attending. To me, it was a good variance from my preferred way of training, but I don't think it's for me long term. If I do come back, I'd probably buy a punch card to attend classes when I need a break from my normal routine. Like most boutique/specialized gyms, it's expensive ($70/week, $565/8-week challenge). However, if you buy a weekly unlimited pass for $70 and attend 5 classes, it's only $14/class. It's worth a look-see and it seems like members really enjoy it. You'll get a good sweat, muscle fatigue and satisfaction upon finishing, for sure. If I am going to invest nearly $200/month, I'd rather commit to a gym that more closely aligns with my personal fitness goals. It's not a knock on F45, just a personal choice for me.

Title: Planet Fitness Stamford Harborview - Poor Communication and Unprofessional Service…read more Review: I have been a long-term member of Planet Fitness Stamford (Harborview), CT, and I am extremely disappointed by how a simple and reasonable request was handled regarding the gym closure for renovations. Timeline of Events: No Notification of Closure: The club was closed for renovation from late September through early November 2025. I received no email or notification regarding this closure. I discovered the closure only when I arrived at the gym in late September or early October and saw a note on the door stating the club would reopen in October. Initial Inquiry and Assurance: In late October, I called the club to ask about the reopening date. A staff member informed me the renovation was delayed until November and assured me I could request a refund or credit once the gym reopened. She even noted this on my account. Multiple Attempts to Contact the Manager: After the gym reopened, I visited the front desk to request my refund. I was told I must call the club manager, Tiffany, at a number that required a transfer. My first call reached a staff member who said the manager was unavailable and asked me to call another day. Interaction with the Manager (Nov 25, 2025): When I finally reached Tiffany: She refused to issue a refund, stating a membership credit might be possible but only if I came in person for verification, despite having my profile and photo visible on her screen. She insisted that an email about the closure had been sent, which I never received and later confirmed did not exist. She could not verify me over the phone, which felt unreasonable given that all identifying information had already been provided. Retaliation After Feedback (Nov 26, 2025): After leaving honest feedback through the automated survey, I visited the gym in person. Tiffany informed me that only her supervisor could now handle the matter, refused to provide contact information, and told me I would need to wait 1-2 weeks to be contacted with no clear next steps. This approach felt dismissive, unhelpful, and inconsistent with the stated customer service standards of Planet Fitness. Summary: My request was straightforward: a refund or credit for two months during which I could not use the gym due to renovations about which I was never properly notified. Instead, I experienced inconsistent information, dismissive behavior, delays, and unprofessional treatment following honest feedback. Impact: This experience has been extremely frustrating and disappointing as a loyal, long-term member. It is unacceptable that a major fitness chain would handle a simple refund request in such an obstructive and unprofessional manner. Desired Resolution: 1. Refund or membership credit for the months when the gym was closed. 2. Clear contact with district/regional leadership to escalate and resolve the matter. 3. Review and improvement of customer service and escalation procedures at this location. Actions Taken (for transparency): To ensure this issue is properly reviewed, I have taken the following steps and am currently awaiting responses: 1. Submitted a written complaint to Planet Fitness' Head of Customer Experience. 2. Filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau (BBB). 3. Filed a consumer complaint with the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection. I am sharing this information so that other members who may face similar situations understand their options and can protect their rights. UPDATE 12/18/2025: While preparing to engage an attorney for a demand letter, Planet Fitness CT West District Manager Jessenia Rojas called on 12/4/2025. She issued a full refund of $21.28 for October/November plus a December credit due to renovations. Refund processing takes 7-10 business days--issue now resolved to my satisfaction.

Genuinely terrible overcrowded and scammy gym…read more I've been going to the edge fitness on and off for three years now. It is such a terrible experience going there.. they try to scam you at every point they possibly can and gouge every single cent out of you. Example 1). They told us we can buy their protein powder that they will store it for us at the gym and takeoff a good amount off the price of the shakes they sell. They got everyone to buy it and realized they didn't wanna hold them anymore so they made everyone take them back and stopped doing that deal. (finesse us into buying their sh****tty protein powder) example 2). They will blatantly lie to your face about the agreement you're signing for. This has happened to me on multiple occasions. example 2a) they told me I could get a three month summer pass before I go to school, sounded like a good price at first, then I got hit with a $50 service charge for the first month (I asked them if I'm only paying x amount monthly) the lady blatantly lied to my face about it saying i would only have the monthly charge. example 2b) I dislocated and got shoulder surgery shortly after the example above and went to the front desk to ask how to cancel. She told me I needed to email corporate and send a very formatted email. She ended up helping me write it nicely enough just to receive an email back saying they won't cancel it without knowing more than 30 days in advance. I provided proof of the surgery and that I couldn't even use their facility, but it didn't matter. After closing my account to avoid being charged extra, they are sending me to collections for $250 even though I only allegedly owed $45 Apparently, you have to pre-pay the next month and write the formal email to cancel. Since I didn't pay that extra $45 (the next months payment) they refused to cancel my membership charge me fees, and membership charges for the last two months.
