She provides a wealth of knowledge on how your body works and why you are doing what you are doing, along with supplement suggestions that never feel pushy - just tools you can choose for your toolbox if you'd like. When the going gets tough, she has an abundance of tips to make diet and workouts more palatable and is always there as a friend to commiserate and build you up. Jen leads by example at Hardcore Fitness, and has built the most caring and supportive fitness environment I have ever experienced - from the trainers through the members. This is her family business and she makes all of her members and clients feel loved like family. I recently completed a 60- day fitness challenge at Hardcore, run by Jen. I gained strength and confidence, while losing inches off my body. My favorite part of the 60 day challenge was the supportive community of other participants. People their stories, struggles, wins, tips, and support for each other both online in our group video discussions, as well as as in person at the gym. The community really keeps you engaged and focused on your goals. This experience has given me better knowledge of what my bad habits weee doing to my body and what good habits I could foster for benefits I want. I plan to keep these learnings top of mind as I head into my (new and improved) regular routine. I recommend Hardcore, Jen, and the trainers highly to anyone looking for a gym family/home. You can generally find me in a Lift class or in the Red Zone Rumble boxing class six days a week. I can't get enough of it!

I mean, THE place to go. The trainers/owners are some of the strongest people in the world (literally), and they really know what they're talking about, not just from reading a book, but from experience (lots of it). One of the best places to go to if you're serious about Strongman/Strongwoman competitions or skills. There is no better place to go in Ventura/LA county than this, in my opinion. That's really all that needs to be said.

Unfortunately, my schedule doesn't align with those classes, which ultimately led me to leave. The class that worked best with my schedule was led by a coach who seemed more focused on socializing than coaching. It was honestly frustrating to experience. Many classes started late because of this, and there was a lot of gossip during workouts. On top of that, the coaching itself often felt unorganized, and at times it seemed like they didn't fully know what they were doing. When I first signed up, I was sold on the idea that this gym was a one-stop place for fitness and health, including nutritional guidance and recipes. However, when I asked about nutrition support, I was brushed off and never received the help that was advertised. I do think this gym has potential, but it really needs more consistent, professional, and knowledgeable coaches to make it a better experience overall.

I'm glad to be his plus one so I can make sure he gets out and makes his membership worth it. I would have appreciated having access to amenities like the massage and tanning, though. He never used any of them. The facility is spacious, with a few defined workout areas. There are plenty of machines, dumbbells, and other equipment to suit different workout needs. Small-group classes and personal training are also available during the day based on the Black Card membership description. The schedule is available on the app. The Thousand Oaks location is pretty light in the evening, which is when we usually go. The app also shows the gym's current traffic, which is convenient. Staff is usually polite and pleasant, although we have minimal interaction since check-in is through the app. The restroom could use more cleaning. I'm not sure if there is a dedicated janitor or if it's handled by employees, but either way, a more consistent cleaning schedule would help. One tip for people who like to clean their equipment before using it: you might want to bring your own cleaning wipes. They provide spray bottles and cleaning paper, which is a little messy for me. With the cost of the membership, though, this is really not a complaint. Overall, we enjoy the convenience of the flexible hours and the variety of fitness options at this location.

At my next visit it wasn't as bad yet there was still much more hair than I would like- which is virtually none (I prefer not to lay in someone else hair while I'm working out and getting sweaty) Several months pass and I get a call from someone at the studio inviting me for another class. As a lifelong runner and yogi, I was honestly intimidated by heavy weights at first. I started working with Dan and Sami to build strength before trying to get pregnant... and not only did I reach that goal, I believe that strength training made a huge difference in both of my deliveries. They guided me through recovery after each pregnancy, helping me lose over 90 pounds after my first and 40 after my second, all while gaining muscle and confidence. Now, approaching 40, I'm in the best shape of my life: physically strong, mentally energetic, and genuinely excited about my workouts. Dan has also helped me cross-train for 3 half marathons in the last 18 months with zero injuries. Both Dan and Sami bring such a positive mindset to every session that training feels like something to look forward to, not a chore. They've taught me skills I can apply on my own and helped me understand how nutrition supports performance. Dan's guidance on macros and his honest, thoughtful feedback have been game-changers. I can't recommend Nano Gym more highly. They've transformed not just my body, but how I feel about fitness and strength.
