Had been at the old location for years - and still miss it. Progym is not only one of the best gyms…read morein Montreal - but in Canada and the USA. Every time I took a friend from the US visiting - it was always stated once we left "can we come back tomorrow?". With the old location sold / demolished - it was a hard feat for the owners to find a location that could match its size/ atmosphere. It goes beyond training - it is an experience. Well, they managed to move. With trepidation the first time - could the formulae be repeated. It is a true lifters gym. You will find equipment there that is rare to find. The Legs section - come on - find me another place that has the amount of equipment / machines. Come on - 6 + different squat machines! Gym Size : I have been to gyms for NFLD to BC and many in between - nothing matches this place for size / space / equipment. It is now stretched out over two levels of intelligent use of space. Added feature : Meditation Room | Barber | Food Services with good seating (+access to microwaves if you brought something) | Supplements Shop | Kick Boxing Area + | Dentist Office | Tanning Beds | Private Closed Door Area for Women's Only Gym | Tons of Free Parking When it moved and was too far for me the time to get to - I tried EVERY other gym in DT Montreal and areas near - Sweet Dear God - throw head on table - Not The Same Thing! Pricing : Not only one of the best price in Montreal for all this equipment - but in Canada. In DT Vancouver it was $100 a month - similar hight prices in other cities with less equipment. Progym offers specials as low as $320 a year if you hit right! Hours : 24hrs /5 days- except Sat/Sun / closing at 9:00 pm + slew of Accredited Trainers (M/F) if required. Crowd : For most part - heads down - there to train and leave. From dedicated lifters to novices. Decent crowd for most parts. Go check it out. Brilliant gym, new location is even better than the old, and the old was incredible (but maybe a…read morelittle further away from my friends). Easy sign-up, no crazy overaggressive sales tactics (like American gyms), key fob can be reactivated when you revisit or if you work remotely. Top 5 Reasons to join this gym: 1. Motivation. Everyone here is there to get fit, stay fit, and they respect the place and the equipment. 2. True training. A gym that's not just for getting in shape (e.g. gym muscles). This is a legit training facility. I haven't seen much of this in commercial gyms (only at say, college athletics training facilities). 3. Respect. No sales tactics. 4. No waiting. Multiple identical workout stations (if there's a unique machine or rack or board or bar you love and rarely shows up at commercial gyms, or if they have it, they have one. ProGym will have 4 of them) 5. Old school and latest tech. Missing an old school rack or tired of lugging your own TRX to the gym, they'll have it.

I like these Econofitness gyms for what they are: simple, clean, inexpensive, functional. You can…read moreget a membership that costs less than most other gyms I've ever heard of and gives you access to their entire network, dozens of gyms all over Quebec. I've been to a couple, including this one on Beaubien near St Hubert, and for my purposes they are great. The machines are new and clean. The clientele is very diverse, and everyone is chill. No one has tried to flirt or give tips, no bro vibes from people loudly peacocking. Maybe at night it's worse. It's definitely pretty close to over-full right after work.

Took them month to actuator process the request despite them saying it would take a few business days. They changed my billing date which I wasn't aware of because you have to sign a new contract which I was not told. When you ask the staff, other than management a question they have no idea how to deal with it and dismiss your answer. When the membership was finally switched my new key card only worked for about 2 weeks. The reason I got platinum was that they don't allow you to transfer the membership you have to upgrade or sign up at the new gym. Thinking I had 2 other gyms I would rather use I upgraded. I kept being told there was something wrong with my membership and I needed to go back to this gym to settle it. They never processed my other contract and I had to sign it again. I asked them if it would work at other gyms and they said it would no problem. I went to one of their gyms downtown and it still doesn't work. I've gone down there 3 times to fix a very simple problem and they still can't get it right. I'm beyond frustrated and would never recommend this gym chain to anyone

To be fair, there are some good things about this gym. Good location, the facilities are decent,…read morethe gym area is pretty decent, with good layout, decently equipped for its smaller size, and it has good lighting. Whats bad about it? Pretty much everything else. The service is terrible, the locker rooms are a bit cramped, the clientele is generally ok but the place has a few regular bad apples that are rude and have no concept of gym etiquette. The management also has no concept of maintenance, as broken equipment can remain on the gym floor for months before it is either fixed or replaced. The gym also misses a few basic little things that are standard for all gyms, such as dipping belts, amongst other things. Management also has a set of stupid pointless rules in place that are highly inconvenient. The price for an annual membership is very high considering the fact that the gym itself is in slow decay with poor service. The worst is that the gym as a whole could become great despite its small size, all it really needs is a modest investment, and proper management. Everyone that works there should get fired, and they should hire fresh new staff with a new perspective. The annual membership at the PEPS de l'Université Laval is less expensive than this place, and the PEPS is probably the best, most complete sports complex I have ever seen. The infrastructure at the PEPS is MASSIVE. The PSP Valcartier Sports Complex also has a MASSIVE infrastructure, and it too is also less expensive than this place for an annual membership, about half the price actually. I have payed much less for a membership at gyms that are far superior to this one.

I mean, really bad. There is *always* a good amount of liquid on the floor, so it's anybody's guess what that really is .. I used to go in the evening, and I understand there is often kids' classes maybe 1 hour before the bain libre. Anyway I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt, that maybe they didn't have enough employees to clean up after each class. But then I've also been in the morning and the smell, the floor, .. it's just as bad. Makes me wonder whether they've got anyone cleaning up the room, at all?? Considering how the "free swim" isn't that free (It costs 6$ per session, or about 30$ per month if you go with a subscription) -- I'd expect the place to be in pristine condition. I've started going to Complexe Claude Robillard instead, and not only is it free of charge, but also very clean
