There are a lot of…read moreplaces to workout, and I have tried the different chain gyms, and they were fine, but they weren't nearby. Driving to and from turned a 1-hour workout into a 2+ hour time commitment. When I saw that AFC was opening nearby, I was hopeful that it would be a place where an out of shape guy can feel comfortable. I met with the owner before they finished and they were in their "soft opening" sort of phase and I liked the vision he had for the place. When they opened I joined up and have been very happy with what they have to offer. Lots of treadmills, ellipticals, stair steppers, machines, free weights, etc. They even have a small sauna in each of the changing rooms. And the staff is constantly walking around cleaning and disinfecting. Nice! So far my experience has been overwhelmingly positive. They are open from super early and into the evening. I think they are even looking at key fobs for 24 hour access if you need that. Prices are reasonable for what they offer. I would definitely tell anyone who might be interested that they should go check it out.

Before I moved here I had read about Jason and Cheri, even talked to them when I was trying to get my mom to give CrossFit a shot. After having my son, I thought of their story many times as I struggle(d) to find my way back to "me". I was super excited when I moved home to actually join the gym. I was NOT disappointed! The concern for the individual is felt the second you walk in the door! Jason took the time to truly understand my WHY! Not his goals, My goals! He didn't just hear me, he listened! Made little tweaks during workouts to help me work towards those goals, and reach milestones that make you want to come back. For the first time since having my son, I leave thinking of what I'm now able to do, instead of what I was once able to do, but no longer can. I know I will not only get there, but I'll be even better than before. Everyone is welcoming, kinda like "Cheers" but gym style. Miss a workout, your gonna get a text!
