CrossFit Des Plaines has been the favorite part of my day for almost 3 summers now and unfortunately I tossed my last wall ball and cleaned my last jerk this week due to moving out of state Before ending up at CFDP I tried all the local CF gyms within a 10 mile radius. They all had their specialties and great people and community. But CFDP had something more. There are all levels of athletes and because of that the programming met everyone's needs during the same class. All gyms scale-but this gym makes sure everyone is made to feel like scaling doesn't matter. Learning the basics matter. The programming is custom. They create new cycles to help their clients get better and you can actually see the improvement and the gains. The coaches are specific. They can see things and help you fix the problem in a minimal number of cues. They want you to succeed to the level that YOU want to get to. They are always willing to push you if that's what you want and they just encourage you to be the better version of you. This is the CF gym that I compare all CF gyms to now. read more

Being a part of CrossFit Des Plaines was a great experience. The program was great, the coaches were knowledgeable and extremely helpful, and the community couldn't have been better. My wife and I were a part of the gym for three months but unfortunately, when our work schedules changed it became harder and harder to make it to workouts on time and we had to resign our memberships. If it hadn't been for that though we definitely would still be continuing to go If you're looking for a good CrossFit gym this is the place to go. Shopping for a new gym is no easy task, and I was a bit stressed on having to move to a new area & search for a new crossfit gym all over again. My priorities with the new move was to find a Crossfit gym first, then worry about the rest. Sounds legit, right ? Before I stumbled into Crossfit Des Plaines, I was encouraged to drop in by one of the coaches. I spoke to Scott, the owner, who was quick to answer my emails and questions about the gym. My first drop in was on a Saturday team wod, and I have to admit, I was blown away by the programming and how incredibly strong the members were. It was intimidating at first to be the newbie, but the members were friendly and accommodating. By the end of the workout, I was drenched in sweat, covered in dirt and gravel, and had the biggest smile on my face. This was exactly what I wanted and looked for in a gym. Long story short, it's been 4 months since I've joined, I've shed 6% of my body fat-thanks to my nutrition & CF coach Cheryl, my strength in Olympic lifts have not waive red, started a new gymnastic programming with Scott's help, and I am so thrilled with their programming. The coaches are all fantastic in their own unique ways, you can modify or scale any of the movements, and the community is fantastic. I went for my first workout at CrossFit Des Plaines without much knowledge about CrossFit. The usual stigma about group workout is not being able to keep up with the other participants, though this establishment was extremely accommodating. I never felt that my individual performance was not good enough or that I hindered the other folk for the workout. I had the opportunity to drop into CrossFit Des Plaines on a work trip. The coach and owner were incredibly accommodating and welcoming. The facility is a decent size with all the equipment and space needed for the class. During my visit, we did Back Squats and Fran and the members were so supportive of my efforts despite my being a visitor!
