Only recently did our fees go up but again it's worth being a member if you go enough and take advantage of any of their other amenities like their daycare, the indoor and outdoor pools. We have heard there's a waiting list and believe it as it does get crowded at times but not super crowded. I have been to several other Lifetime properties in the Chicagoland area and this is in my top 5 locations. The staff is great as well as the trainers that work there. You can tell business is good when you rarely see a trainer solo. Instead they are working with clients, training away. I do find it strange that the GM trains some people as he's taking away from his other trainers. The folks at the Cafe are wonderful and friendly as well. Let's not forget about the workers at the Daycare! Doreen, Wilma and their crew all work their tail off taking care of the babies, toddlers and kids. God bless em. I felt like I was being overcharged. Because the promotion said that startup membership would be $25 monthly.. in October I was charged $49 for the years membership. That was taken out October 3 .. then on October 17 they charged me again.. $25.05. I finally cancelled my membership because I felt I was being overcharged. If you wanted me to pay for the year.. why not have taken the money out September 2026 rather than that would be one year after signup.. Is people who signup also had this happen? Or you just gave them your bank information and you don't look at your statements?? Plus I signed up for the black card.. but my guest has to be with me when I go inside. Had I known all this from the beginning.. I wouldn't have signed up to be a member.. No refund?? No! Yall a mathafucker.. I tried to cancel over the phone but the associate told me I have to go to the store that I signed up at.. Most Crunch locations, and chain gyms in general are mediocre at best, but this one is even lower…read morequality. A significant number of machines have been consistently broken for weeks or months, including an entire line of treadmills to the left of the front desk that I don't think I've ever seen working. Patrons rarely rerack their weights, and staff never does anything to help with that. There's also the issue that this gym is VERY popular with high school boys. They travel in packs, tend to be very loud and disruptive, and will hog machines, with 5 or 6 of them alternating sets on the same machine so that it can take up to 30 minutes just for one group to finish on a machine. I know there's nothing management/owners can do about that, but it's still something to take into account when choosing a gym. The only nice thing to say about this place is that the main gym floor is usually pretty clean. The women's bathroom is hit-or-miss on cleanliness, depending on the day. And if you're looking for a cheap chain gym, there's a Planet Fitness less than a mile away on Euclid Ave, where the quality probably won't be much different but at least PF is dirt-cheap, even compared to Crunch.

Kaylie was especially helpful in getting me set up with my membership and walking me through the machines. The atmosphere is judgment-free, with no invasive cameras, so you can just focus on your workout and feel completely in your element. The equipment is incredible--like being a kid in a candy store, amazed by the cutting-edge machines that are designed to target exactly what they're meant to.
