Great crossfit gym. I see improvement in myself every month. Trainers pay close attention to your form. Workout is always challenging.

Onelife Fitness - Perimeter Sports Club

Onelife Fitness - Perimeter Sports Club

Onelife Fitness Perimeter is truly my home gym. I've been a member for about four years now, and…read morethe staff has consistently been amazing--friendly, helpful, and welcoming every time I walk in. While it may seem like there's "not much to review" when it comes to gyms, I genuinely believe not all gyms are the same. Onelife clearly takes pride in their space. The facility is clean, the machines are well-maintained and up to date, and they pay attention to the little details (which I definitely notice). The personal training rates are also very reasonable, and overall, the vibe is exactly what I look for in a gym. You can tell most people are there to actually work out--not just hang around, socialize, or hold up equipment. I really appreciate being in an environment where people are focused, respectful, and using the gym for what it's meant for. If you're looking for a gym that feels welcoming, well-run, and truly built for people who want to move and improve, Onelife Fitness Perimeter is it. I'd also like to give a shout out to the general manager Kamera, she is an absolute ray of sunshine.

First time checking out this gym while visiting the ATL area and it was pretty nice. Parking seemed…read moreto be difficult to find pending hour of the day, but with two floors and plenty of machines, I didn't really find myself waiting in line. Lots of cardio machines on both floors and a designated stretching area and cross fit section. They sell protein shakes, energy drinks and snacks. They also offer amenities like massage chairs and saunas. This location does not have a pool. Only comment I can add is the guy working at the reception can be a little more lively. Just gave off the vibe he didn't want to be there.

Valitus Strength and Fitness - Rebecca, me, & Isa (coach) after our Memorial Day Murph WOD!

Valitus Strength and Fitness

This is the one & only place that I truly believe a 5 star rating just isn't enough! Where do I…read morestart.. This may be a long one so buckle up. First and foremost, I am just your average chick in the sense that I do NOT habitually workout, count my calories, meal prep, etc. I did have a membership at LA Fitness for 3 years (2015-2017) but was really only actively using it for 1 year so I finally made the decision to cancel it. I first step foot into this box July 4, 2017 when my boyfriend invited me to come to their post-WOD ("workout of the day") BBQ. I literally only came for the food, sorry! At the time I still held a membership at LA Fitness and had absolutely NO intentions of committing to another gym; Especially not CrossFit. But of course everyone urged me to give it a try and I left that day with the mindset that CrossFit was a cult (lol). [...Fast forward to March 2018 when the 2018 Reebok CrossFit Games were going on...] My boyfriend asked me to come to the box with him every Friday this month to record his WODs and so I did. On the last week of March, he spontaneously bought me a Groupon for their Fundamentals class ($32) and the rest was history... I've never found a fitness program that I enjoyed until I started CrossFit. Reasons why I love this program (and why it works for me): *Your WOD is created for you & released on their app (Wodify) 8PM the night before so you never have to pre-plan before coming. Plus, they're typically only 15-30mins long but it'll get your HR way up there bc of its style of HIIT. *You always work out in groups/classes which is motivating when you feel like stopping mid-workout but everyone around you is still going strong. Everyone is also so welcoming & full of encouragement! *If there is an exercise that you are unable to do, there is always a scaled version of it or some type of exercise you can do to work on those targeted muscles. *There is always a coach present to stretch you out as a group, ensure everyone warms up properly, & guide you throughout the WOD/correct your form if necessary. *They have a great sound system & nothing is better during a workout than music drowning out the sound of your pain. More about the Groupon Deal: Fundamental classes start at the beginning of every month. Classes are MWT @ 7:30PM for the first 4 weeks. You will then graduate to the intermediate class which you will be allowed to attend for the following 2 weeks and decide if you would like to purchase a membership. You get a cool swag bag for joining which includes free monthly body composition analysis at Max Nutrition. More about CrossFit Valitus: Classes are offered 6 days/week (Monday-Saturday) with M-F at 6AM, 7AM, 12PM, 4:30PM, 5:30PM, and 6:30PM and Saturday at 9AM or 10AM. Some Saturdays are partner workouts to which you're more than welcome to bring a friend/family member as long as they're familiar with the WOD's exercises. They're also open on Sundays at 12PM as an open gym so you can come and work on any exercise that needs improvement. Oh, did I mention you get access to Dynamo's Swim Club!? Lastly, there are currently 4 coaches and every single one of them is awesome in their own way. *Crystal--The owner and awesome fundamentals instructor *Art--The head coach who's great at making sure you're stretched out for you WOD and trains our triathlon team *Rene--Beast crossfitter who also holds flexibility and strength training classes a few times a week *Isa--Best WOD DJ and motivator since she Rx's just about every workout (sometimes 2-3x/day!) Whew, that was a long one but I warned you! I know CrossFit may seem intimidating and even scary to the average person but don't knock it till you try it. It's only been a little over 2 months for me and I've already seen changes within my body and PR'd more exercises than I could even count. I'll end off with this quote: "A year from now you will wish you had started today"

Amazing facility and experience! The coaches worked with us one on one and left me feeling like…read morethey were really watching out for us. If you're looking for a gym with weight lifting and high intensity workouts led by coaches who really focus on the members look no further.

Sky Gym - Our beautiful studio!

I can't say enough good things about Sky Gym. The entire staff there is super welcoming, nice,…read moreaccommodating, friendly, talented, and passionate. It's a great, clean facility with really high ceilings, and SHOWERS! Plus, they have *lots* of open practice opportunities, which is really nice. If you go and it's difficult or challenging, it's supposed to be! It's a full-body strength workout (that can even get into cardio territory sometimes if you're on the apparatus long enough). I couldn't do *anything* in my first few classes, but after maybe a couple of months, I could do enough to do a very small "performance." Just keep at it. You'll be surprised how quickly you build strength if you commit to at least once a week. Most important, though: have fun. The instructors will do their best to make sure that's happening!

So far my impression of the studio is that everyone are professionals at their craft. They are…read moreextremely clean and friendly team. Safety is a top priority. What I like is their mind body app that makes viewing and booking effortless. Membership prices are very affordable and great combinations of types of aerial excercise equipments (eg sling) The downside for me is that the first instructor courses were disorganized and not many get to try everything. felt rushed to briefly do every single one. I come in for my 3rd class and still disorganized despite having only 3 students. All in which have different levels. Level 1 sling class even then is too advanced for me. The instructor just dove right in but i think he forgets that when it comes to students like myself, I have never ever activated or used any muscle movement similar to what they are doing. He said to me you're just overthinking it. Yet the movement isn't understood by me. Even watching, I can't connect my many different movements "just" to do a simple flip into the sling and then have the fabric lay on my pelvis bones, balance and flip legs over. I'm sure this isn't the only way to teach...and I'm gonna look for a place that offers more structured and fluid sessions. Maybe start off with workout routines on The sling then just a "just move your body into any shape" or "just tuck your knees in and JUST bend your arms" then "voila". I won't be paying a drop in cost or even a membership just to hang or have such chaotic class. One minute this and that yet no real idea what those moves are even called. I left 20 minutes early as most moves were really too advanced for me. All I can do I stand in the sling. I'll be buying my own sling and watching videos online it's no different because all sky gym offers is this "watch" and "learn". You grab your own support pad.. They might help "lift you" into position but doesn't help understand how to do It yourself.. Also they do not really look at me when teaching but everyone else. Not really included till I speak up. Maybe it's just my instructor. They should look and make eye contact to EVERY STUDENT. not just one.
