Such a great supporting coaches and definitely knowledgeable. Friendly community. 100% recommended!

MY HAPPY 2nd Home!! Started here at the beginning of the year and have found happiness in not only the workouts but the atmosphere, the community, the support and overall vibe. Not only was I welcomed right away but so was my entire family. Even when transitioning to a new owner, it still continued seamlessly. Coaches and members are genuine, knowledgeable, helpful and inspiring. It's more than "just a gym", more than "just a box", it's more than "just getting a workout in"...it's a lifestyle that's exciting to transition into with warm inviting people who instantly make you feel comfortable and like you can achieve anything you set your mind to! Very good crossfit gym and community members are friendly and encouraging. If you haven't started crossfit before, they are willing to do an on-ramp program to help you get acquainted so the classes aren't too overwhelming. At the moment, there is an exclusive barbell club class on Monday evenings that focuses on technique step by step for common crossfit lifts. They really do help you break it down so you can perform the movements at your pace and progression. I started crossfit mainly due to my first Spartan race coming up 2 months after my start date. Just finished the race and can boldly say crossfit916 has prepared me well for it. I was able to do most of the obstacles on the race that involves many muscle groups crossfit targets. Needless to say, I am continuing with crossfit as having class run sessions are more motivating for me then going to the gym myself. Kudos to the Alex James and the rest of the trainers who lead the classes. Pro Tips: Invest in some during/aftercare products such as hand wraps or grips. Coming from a medical background, ripped blisters/calluses is a high risk when I work in the lab. NEOSPORIN IS YOUR FRIEND! read more

This sport has been everything I never knew I needed in my life. It has provided me structure, disciple, community and continuously walking in the path of sobriety. Though there are still some challenges of inclusion and acceptance of lifestyles and backgrounds I have experienced in the past, crossfit916 has cultivated a welcoming, diverse community that embraces all of its athletes in a way that highlights an individual to strive for the best and to push beyond their limits. grateful for crossfit916. read more

Wasn't planning on doing crossfit on our trip down to Disneyland but while visiting family in Elk Grove, the drop in fee for CF916 was affordable so it was a no brainer to drop in. Christina was an excellent coach and the facility was big and clean. Thank you everyone for being welcoming and awesome! read more

CrossFit 916 - Trainers Near Me - Elk Grove, California

I started at this box as a total beginner in January and I love it! The trainers are super patient and genuinely care that you make progress. They push you to do as much as you can do, but NEVER at the expense of proper form and safety. They also have strength classes three days per week that are really intense, but a lot of fun. We do a lot of other fun things as a group and everyone is really inclusive. read more

My boyfriend and I were visiting my family and wanted to keep up with our wods. We contacted this Crossfit and they were very accommodating. THINGS THAT STOOD OUT: *Great, friendly people. *Positive coaching. *Awesome children's playROOM. that's right, keyword: ROOM - no "children's jail/cage" *Also, shirts are only $15! They have their own Tshirt maker on site, so you can even bring in your favorite plain shirt to get their logo on it. They probably have the best designs out of all the crossfit's I've been to. If I still lived in Elk Grove, this would probably be my box. read more

You won't regret trying out 916. Not only are the trainers knowledgeable and interested in making sure you get in a great workout injury free, but they make sure you are comfortable and welcomed. I am 34, and on the best shape I have been in since high school, maybe even of my life. I started just after having my second baby and haven't looked back. My husband followed a few months after me, and now my whole family loves the gym. My kids take part in CF kids and have a blast doing it. They have a great example in fitness in watching us exercise and in doing it themselves. Bring your family (or just yourself!) and have fun getting in shape! read more

My journey started 3 years ago this month with my 15 yr old son in tow I walked my 45 year old, busted knees and 386lb body into the box and we weren't met with disapproving disgusted looks we were met with sincere greetings, support and well wishers. I just recently returned after a 3 month absence and my fist day back the Love and Support was still there. You're NEVER going to experience a better torturous and agonizing experience anywhere else that adds an incredible supportive team that is willing to work with you due to your skill level. Anyone and Everyone is Welcomed with open and supportive arms, and it shows. I'm glad and Honored to be a part of the team I mean CF916 Family. read more

What a great, welcoming box! I dropped in for a few classes while I was visiting home and really enjoyed the classes, coaches, and other athletes. Each class started out with the coach breaking down the WOD, then a warm-up, +/- strength portion, and ended with the WOD. Everyone was very friendly! Would definitely come back again next time I'm in town! read more

I have been going to Crossfit 916 for almost a month and I love it. I had been going through a lot of gym. This is totally different. The coaches here are fantastic. They encourage you to do more but at the same time they make sure your form is correct. If they see anything wrong. They will stop you and have the patience to guide you. Everybody in there treat each other like families, they support one another. Within just couple weeks, I saw result. My muscle is getting toner, my stubborn fat start to melt away. I am getting stronger everytime I trained in there. Serious, I can't just explained everything to you. You have got to come check this place out yourself. You will get addicted to it right after the 1st day. Warning: your body will be sore after the 1st day. It is the good kind of sore, it mean this place work every muscle in your body. read more

I've been here only a few weeks but enjoying it more than I expected. Haven't done any of the same routines yet which is different than what I'm used to at regular gyms. Which is cool. Everyone has been really helpful and encouraging. Do expect to learn new proper forms for these types of workout though. The good part is, the coaches are pretty knowledgeable so they helped me through a lot of it. Overall it's been a great experience. Highly recommend giving this place a try. read more

I just started here at Crossfit 916 and to say I'm impressed is an understatement. Aaron the owner is beyond friendly and very professional. I purchased a Groupon for one month of on-ramp and one month of open classes and will stay here when it's up. Erika is the on-ramp instructor and is amazing. She encourages you while pushing you to do your best. I'm not in the best shape and she made sure I could safely do the movements or gave me options. The members are friendly and make it a point to greet you and encourage you. Love Crossfit @16. read more

This is Elk Grove's BEST KEPT SECRET! And YES, I drank the Crossfit cool-aid. After hearing how great this place was from my wife's co-worker, my wife and I started at Crossfit 916 a year ago to get into better shape before our wedding after years of going to 24HR. We've been HOOKED since then. It's a little out of the way (located at the end of the the street where the Bootbarn is off Hwy 99), but well worth it. Each hour-long class keeps your body adapting to a mix of high-intensity interval training, olympic weightlifting, cardio, gymnatics, and overall fun. The best part is the environment: forget the meat-heads, stuck-up gym snobs, and cliques at your Crunch, local 24 Hours, and Cal Family Fitness gyms; rather workout with some of the most friendly and genuine athletes from around town. Whether you're first or last, there's always someone to cheer you on. The coaches are easy to get along with and really work with you to better your form, technique, strength, endurance, and are constantly challenging you to outdo your old self. Don't be intimidated: there's modified versions of the workout for everyone, so that you can get the best result for yourself. There's really a sense of community here! AND there are kids' classes to help entertain the little ones while you're getting your sweat on! If you're curious, try a Saturday morning class and see for yourself, but don't blame me if you get addicted. read more

2015 programming seems promising with options focusing on strength conditioning. I show up and I see plenty of motivation to keep me focus with my goals. Trainers will keep you on check and will make corrective adjustments towards proper form. New location is HUGE! Allowing more space to accommodate new members. Lastly, owner and head trainer is an active military, supporting him as a business owner is one way I show my appreciation. read more

I can't think of a single negative thing to say about this gym. The trainers are amazing, the classes are fun, and you won't find a more welcoming community anywhere! When I first started, I had a membership at a huge club elsewhere and I didn't plan on ending that. My friend always talked about how much she loved her gym, so I came with her one day to see what crossfit was all about. After one workout, I was hooked! It truly is a totally different feeling to be part of the Crossfit 916 family. Just come give it a try and you'll see what I mean :) read more
