    It's time to update my review. I'm taking a star away. As far as how the service works, it hasn't changed since I last wrote about it. There are some places in the United States that don't ship to Canada. As an example, I wanted to purchase something from my graduate school's bookstore. It doesn't ship to Canada. I signed up for a Cross Border Pickups account for free a few years ago. You are assigned a mailing address in the States. I have a specific mailing address in Buffalo, NY. I simply use that U.S. address to have places, such as this bookstore, ship my items there. Cross Border Pickups then ships your items to Canada for a fee (depends on the size of your shipment). It also handles the duty and taxes, so you don't have to. For me, this service is perfect. However, things have changed since I first wrote a few years back. Gone is the man that used to be a fixture at the Mississauga location. He was great recognizing me when I first walked in. He fetched my orders, handled my payment, and even helped me lug a huge item into my car. There was also Sarah who did the same thing. I appreciated these small, but important touches. The company is doing so well that it has a second office in Markham. I come to this one because the hours are better for me to pick up my shipments. This location is also five minutes away by car from my workplace. However, customer service has declined over the years. Back in June 2017, I was away for two weeks in Shanghai. I then got bronchitis, so I was out for three weeks in total. I had some packages waiting for me. I picked them up nearly a month later. The woman there gave me an earful, saying that I needed to be more prompt. Well, sure, if you want my bronchitis self to come over, mist you with my inhaler, and cough up a lung at you because you are upset that my items were holding perhaps a square foot of your warehouse space. I'm sorry. If I'm not healthy, I'm not coming over to your warehouse to pick up packages. Well, I don't think I was the one who started the thirty-day policy to pick up your parcels or you get fined, but it felt like it. I have been subjected to it only once under a similar situation where I was away on business. Luckily, I haven't been in that situation for a while. At this particular location, there is one person who is at the front desk and is downright rude. She repeated it again when I was last there. She simply stares at her computer. Without even looking up at me, we had this conversation: "Can I help you?" she asked, looking at the computer screen. "1234," I replied (it's my customer number, but it's fake here). "How do you want to pay?" she asked, with her eyes still glued to her screen. "Debit," I replied. She turned the payment machine at me without looking up. I paid and tore the receipt from the machine. "Hey, can you pick up these packages?" she yelled at her colleague, without taking her eyes off the screen. "Sure," her colleagues said. "I'm still not sure what I'm doing tonight," the rude woman said, looking like she's talking to her monitor. A huge tip when you use Cross Border Pickups is to pay either by cash or debit. If you pay using a credit card, an extra 3% charge is slapped on to your custom fees. Don't let that happen, if you can. The woman who fetched my items was nice. Perhaps she should work the front desk and the woman doing her trance act with her computer screen should look at other things in the warehouse. Customer service needs to improve. The woman having her public love affair with her screen needs to at least look at customers and make them feel welcome. Geez. I'm still coming back here for my items. Luckily, I don't come here as often as I used to. (170)

    This is NOT over 1lb!!!  I mentioned it to the clerk multiple times, she never offered to reweigh.

    Terrible. Plenty of other freight forwarders to use. Ridiculous fees and the slowest turn around times I've seen in a long time.

I thought to heck with this, I'd drive to their location in Mississauga/Brampton. This was like a scene out of a sci-fi movie. It was in the barren wastelands north of the airport, wide, open areas, tree-less, in between these massive American courier companies ... and then ... you arrive at the "facility". High-security facility, like walking on to the set of a sci-fi movie. Kind of airport on steroids vibe. They had my parcels and that's all I cared about. I was not going to give this company the pleasure of extra $'s to "transfer" to another address. These courier companies have people by the balls (excuse my language).

I have been receiving shipments for years, they call me for payment of duties and taxes whenever I have a package coming into the country. Fine. Suddenly only a week after my last imported shipment, on a rush shipment that I paid for the fastest express service, it gets stopped at the depot. The claim is that it's a "Clearance Delay". Tracking shows this notice: "Detailed broker information is required. Importer must provide a power of attorney (POA) form letter authorizing Fedex/Broker to clear shipment." Meanwhile, I had been preparing for this incoming shipment by calling Fedex every two hours to see if they were ready to accept my credit card payment as usual. Not today... According to a major customs broker, this is how Fedex scams you into clearing all your packages through their service instead of an outside broker. It also ensured I lost a substantial sale. Meanwhile, my package sits only a short drive away from me, but I can't get it. Until when? Obviously until I cave to their one-sided terms. I have a new motto for Fedex: "Fedex--your Sales Prevention Department".

    I requested a quote from these guys and they gave me a price and then as we got more in-depth into…read moreconversation they raised the price as it was residential and we required a power tailgate no bid deal we understood there maybe fees associated. They had another courier pick up the pallet and they guy was helpful. They could not give me an exact delivery date as of when I would receive my delivery. They then told me it was being delivered on route to me. I then got an email saying not today after I waited all day. I asked them to have the driver call me and advice when he'd be here. No response or call. The delivery guy again not a bison truck shows up without warning and no power tailgate. Asks where's my forklift. I am at a residence not a business. I told him to use the power tailgate as we prepaid and requested this service. He told me he doesn't have one. I then had to remove the boxes from the pallet by hand. After I unloaded the pallet from the truck I contacted bison and they were not willing to give the full amount of the power tailgate services or any time associated with this extra time. They offered me $35 dollars when I paid $150 for the tailgate service. For even 25 percent. I have to say not happy with the services.
