No where in terms of service it said that the packages sent to USA address has to be from a courier company which provides a tracking number. Even if you bought from mama papa company in US and the mama papa company sends your product using vanilla US postal without tracking number. Multiple packages were lost even if you provide all the info correctly including your Unit # which is your account number. Poor Service! read more

It's time to update my review. I'm taking a star away. As far as how the service works, it hasn't changed since I last wrote about it. There are some places in the United States that don't ship to Canada. As an example, I wanted to purchase something from my graduate school's bookstore. It doesn't ship to Canada. I signed up for a Cross Border Pickups account for free a few years ago. You are assigned a mailing address in the States. I have a specific mailing address in Buffalo, NY. I simply use that U.S. address to have places, such as this bookstore, ship my items there. Cross Border Pickups then ships your items to Canada for a fee (depends on the size of your shipment). It also handles the duty and taxes, so you don't have to. For me, this service is perfect. However, things have changed since I first wrote a few years back. Gone is the man that used to be a fixture at the Mississauga location. He was great recognizing me when I first walked in. He fetched my orders, handled my payment, and even helped me lug a huge item into my car. There was also Sarah who did the same thing. I appreciated these small, but important touches. The company is doing so well that it has a second office in Markham. I come to this one because the hours are better for me to pick up my shipments. This location is also five minutes away by car from my workplace. However, customer service has declined over the years. Back in June 2017, I was away for two weeks in Shanghai. I then got bronchitis, so I was out for three weeks in total. I had some packages waiting for me. I picked them up nearly a month later. The woman there gave me an earful, saying that I needed to be more prompt. Well, sure, if you want my bronchitis self to come over, mist you with my inhaler, and cough up a lung at you because you are upset that my items were holding perhaps a square foot of your warehouse space. I'm sorry. If I'm not healthy, I'm not coming over to your warehouse to pick up packages. Well, I don't think I was the one who started the thirty-day policy to pick up your parcels or you get fined, but it felt like it. I have been subjected to it only once under a similar situation where I was away on business. Luckily, I haven't been in that situation for a while. At this particular location, there is one person who is at the front desk and is downright rude. She repeated it again when I was last there. She simply stares at her computer. Without even looking up at me, we had this conversation: "Can I help you?" she asked, looking at the computer screen. "1234," I replied (it's my customer number, but it's fake here). "How do you want to pay?" she asked, with her eyes still glued to her screen. "Debit," I replied. She turned the payment machine at me without looking up. I paid and tore the receipt from the machine. "Hey, can you pick up these packages?" she yelled at her colleague, without taking her eyes off the screen. "Sure," her colleagues said. "I'm still not sure what I'm doing tonight," the rude woman said, looking like she's talking to her monitor. A huge tip when you use Cross Border Pickups is to pay either by cash or debit. If you pay using a credit card, an extra 3% charge is slapped on to your custom fees. Don't let that happen, if you can. The woman who fetched my items was nice. Perhaps she should work the front desk and the woman doing her trance act with her computer screen should look at other things in the warehouse. Customer service needs to improve. The woman having her public love affair with her screen needs to at least look at customers and make them feel welcome. Geez. I'm still coming back here for my items. Dishonest crooks. They don't disclose policies until after they've disposed of your items. No storage limit warnings. No working contact number to anyone. Walk-in is told to email support through their website. Replies can take days, to weeks, and in many cases they simply do not reply at all, and typically they use canned useless replies that have no value. Others offer their company discounted shipping rates, but these guys don't. Their website is so horrible to navigate its pathetic. ***WARNING: I was overcharged for my parcel. So if you have any doubts, ask them to re-weigh your item!!!*** Convenient service, but very, very expensive. I usually have things shipped to my US address, then after a few months, I drive across the border and collect my items in bulk. It's $4US/parcel. However, I thought that I'd try this service with the shutdowns and all. The major CON to this service is that you have no clue how much your final total will be. Their rates on their site is just based on the weight of your parcel, but there's no calculator of how much duties, taxes, etc. will be until parcel is already enroute! This was my first experience and I'll probably never do it again. They also overcharged me, saying that my parcel was over 1lb. I mentioned it twice and the girl working didn't do anything - apparently, they can re-weigh it. I re-weighed it at home and it's well under 1lb which is an additional charge. Customer Service is an online chat and they said they can't do anything because they don't know whether or not I removed anything from the parcel once I got home. There's no phone number CS! I'll start with the positive. 1. The pricing you can save from buying stuff on eBay s. The fees they charge can save you tons of money. I wish they had more pick up locations though. The staff in person are friendly and quick. 2. Negative - no phone number to call someone if an issue arrises. This part cringes me. 3. I've never even heard of this business, but they charged my business debit card. Now I'm spending hours on the phone having it reversed and having them blocked. The number they list on my bank charge said to call back at 10am. I do that only to hear the machine now say they don't take customer service calls. If this keeps up, we'll sue them for damages, and given the volume of other people having the same issue, we might do a class action. Very shady. read more

I ordered from Walmart US and the package was delivered to the their US warehouse and Walmart had sent me a picture of where the package was dropped off. There were other Amazon packages from others in the pictures as well. However, Crossborder told me that they couldn't find the package and the package was lost. Their reason for not finding it was because Walmart did not give me a tracking number and their employees did not sign the package. (The system of Walmart and the picture were the proof) Also, the package was delivered within their office hour!! How could I control how the delivery person delivery the package? It's ridiculous. At home, I got all my Amazon package without any signature. Avoid this company if you cannot ensure the delivery person would ask for a signature. read more

I would stay away from this company. I had been a customer of Crossborder 7 years. Recently I've had a number of issues with bringing packages over the border. Their support is unknowledgeable and there is no authority/manager to speak to if an issue does arise. Your only option is to speak to someone on their live chat who will refuse to escalate any issues. If you look around there are similar companies offering the same service. Eventually you will get into a situation where Crossborder pickups will hold your packages "hostage". read more

Sadly, an awful first time experience with this company. First time will be my last time. Their website states they will ship your package within 24 hours of receiving payment. I paid 8 days ago, and received an email today that there was an error in the amount due, and I have to pay an additional $11.90 and then my package will be mailed. I get mistakes happen, but how do you go from a policy of shipping a package within 24 hours of payment, to emailing to customer 8 days later asking for more money and package not shipped. If you have any issues with this company and you are unable to get anywhere with the staff, please feel free to go straight the owner at dthai@crossborderpickups.ca - It wont help you at all as he is exceptionally rude and condescending, but please feel free to try. Absolutely the worst and most mismanaged company you will ever deal with. They will constantly change their storage fees without telling you, leading to crazy overage charges. The manager who runs the company (DANG THAI) has no idea what he is doing or how to deal with customers. He's happy to be condescending and refuse to deal with issues you have or lose a customer over it. If he doesn't want to speak to you anymore, he will just go in his office and slam the door. They have lost three of my packages as well in the three years I dealt with them, and it took them months to find them. When they did find them, they ended up trying to charge me late storage fees!! It took me a month to get it dealt with! Over Christmas 2019, it started taking them over a month to send in packages from the USA. Yet they changed the storage time from 30 days to 10 days and were unwilling to credit any additional storage fees you got from their lack of ability to provide the stated service. They would continue to ask you to give them time and patience, and then charge you as MUCH AS HUMANLY POSSIBLE when you were a day late picking up packages. Packages they had delayed by a month due to their inability to handle the volume of packages received. At one point, I was waiting almost two weeks after a package arrived for it to be even flagged into my account in Niagara Falls, NY, which causes issues as it was taking 2 weeks to a month before I could even guarantee the package was received by them! The last straw was when DANG the manager told me I was wrong and didnt know what I was talking about and refused to listen when they had changed the storage time the day before and not contacted or advised customers as such. They then tried to charge me over $60 extra for two packages. I've had them mislabel packages as arrived and they were not and then try to charge fees on them. I think there is some sort of general fraud going on with this company and I've actually contacted the Better Business Bureau with all of the information and correspondence I have with this company. I then stopped using the company and moved to SHIPPSY (Who are great), but my mother wanted to continue using Cross Border Pickups. My mother stepped into the store today, and was told she owed $32 in late fees even though all fees were paid before the packages were shipped in. The female manager there refused to explain the fees, simply saying my mother was told this previously and that she had to pay the fees or they would hold her packages hostage. She asked to speak to the owner and was told he was on Vacation. When she persisted, the female manager called her an idiot and went into the office and slammed the door, leaving her base staff to try and explain things. The base staff member my mother dealt with was at least nice but could not clearly explain why there were additional fees either. I was not there but my mother called me in tears. So I then asked the manager to call me via chat on the website (they have no phone number) and SHOCKER, the Owner (DANG) stepped in and said the following IN CHAT on their website: OWNER: she (my mother) is not telling the truth. She is a liar. you were all been given explanations about storage fees. I am going to call you. Me: You want to call my mother a LIAR are you insane? Yes Please call me. Now! Owner: (who then refuses to call me and instead calls my mother, a 65 year old woman, directly): The Owner of the store actually called my mother and said the following VERBAITIM: OWNER: "If you as a 65 year old woman don't know how to use a computer, you should be ashamed of yourself. My Mother: Would you talk to your mother like this? OWNER: Yes, if she was so stupid she can't use a computer and has to get her kids involved. You are your entire family are an embarrassment. The fact that you raised you son like that, you are a horrible mother. At this point, my mother just hung up on him. The fact that the owner of this company would call a 65 year old woman stupid, after their manager had already called her an idiot should say all you need to know about this company. The fact that AFTER WRITING this inflammatory statement, the Owner didn't even have the guts to get on the phone with me should tell you exactly what type of person he is and how he runs his business. Really ticked off and will never use them again, didn't have a parcel shipped right away because I thought I may have more to ship at the same time. I would have been fine paying storage fees but they apparently threw my parcel in the garbage after so many days. Should be a law against this. Guessing stuff doesn't actually get thrown away but sold off in lots to highest bidder. At a minimum, there should be an email telling you if not shipped will be discarded. read more

I had a package arrive there and was informed by the owner that I could wait until I had more items to save money on shipping, so I waited a few months for another item I had on preorder, once the second item arrived I decided to ship them together but the first item had been marked as discarded, I was never given any notice of this happening and was not informed of any time limits on storage, then I decided I'd just ship my second package and be done with them, but they decided to charge me $50 in storage fees! So to get my package that cost me roughly $25 shipped after all their charges was going to be $70! I will never attempt to deal with this loser again and I highly recommend you try elsewhere read more

My bank refunded me and made me get a new debit card. Now it has happened again with the new card and I haven't used my new debit card on anything. Not sure where they are getting my information. I have used Cross Border Pickups quite a few times for purchasing commercial goods. It took the business I purchased from a few days to get my order to the border, and myself 24 hours (a delay as the CBP site was down) to approve the shipment to me; this was July 9th. I have called today (July 19th) to ask for an update and was told there is only one person who handles shipments and they are behind due to an influx of packages. They will pull my package and get it shipped. Obviously, squeaky wheel gets the oil. The issue I have is two fold - #1 - where was the communication? If I hadn't of called there is no telling how long I would have waited to receive my goods. A simple update email letting me know there was a delay would have gone a long way. #2 - I am thrilled Cross Border Pick ups is doing so well, but perhaps it is time to hire a second person to get the shipments to consumers once they have crossed the border. A 10 day turnaround once in your hands, and only after a phone call, is unacceptable when you say 1-3 days. I am very disappointed in this experience. read more

Amateurs. Nothing on their website inspires confidence, and that should have been my indicator not to use this profoundly substandard firm. Once I figured out how to use the credit card payment system, it didn't work. Not one day or a week, but never! And they still have it as the only payment system on the website, inviting victims to use it out of necessity. But it doesn't work at all! I still don't have my little parcel. After weeks of email back and forth they demanded my photo id (driver's licence) sent as an attachment, and only then would they take my VISA payment over the phone. I have no confidence that a credit card scam won't now happen because they have enough to make it work. They asked place of origin I placed USA since I ordered from the USA wrong this cost me 40 per items I had 8 item. I paid they refund the money and up the price with admin fee for the correction blamed the Customs. I had to pay storage fees too for the time it was there. However, Fedex has tried to deliver a package in Niagara Falls on 9/29 3pm and the location was closed. On 9/30 11am, Fedex tried again and the location was closed. On 10/1 10am finally delivered. Not every courier company is like Fedex and tries multiple time to deliver a package. It looks like this company is going out of business or are completely incompetent. read more

Really bad service! I ordered vitamin bottles from USA. "Cross border pickups" team opened package of 5 and had to split this shipment up. I went to the office, picked up the packages and opened them in front of the main desk at borders office, in front of their cameras: ONE OF THE BOTTLE WAS BROKEN! I asked the person who was working there and she told me that she is not responsible. She didn't even apologize. the customer service emailed me: "if a product is damaged please contact the seller as they are the ones responsible for packaging". As a first time user, I'm extremely disappointed. The communication with this company is horrible. I got a message asking for details about my package and payment, I paid then got an invoice but no details about shipping arrival. Almost 3 days later still no information about when my shipment will arrive or how long it will take. I've been calling for almost 2 days. I get put on hold by the phone system for at least 5 minutes then it gives an option to leave a message. Left 2 messages got no response. I chose this company because I called twice a few months ago and was able to speak to someone quickly. Now no one answers. Tried emailing instead and got a response in 30mins. I'm told via email that my package will be delivered 6 days after I paid for it. But why did I have to hound the company to find this out? Shipping and communications has come SO far. Its 2019! This is unacceptable. It would have been nice to know a delivery date the day after I paid. Then I could have decided to pick up the package myself and or set my clients expectations on delivery timing. I have requested via email (since no one answers the phone) the option to pick up and still have no response. Next time I'll just pay triple the rate from a bigger carrier to know where my package is, get an arrival time and have the ability to speak to someone live. UPDATE: I still haven't gotten the email they said would come explaining my shipment date. I sent 2 additional emails last Friday and got no response as to whether I could pick up my shipment. We had a holiday on Monday, now its Tuesday mid morning, and I still don't know when I'll receive my package. UPDATE #2: I finally get a tracking number then watch online while my package bounces back and forth from being at the depot to going out for delivery via Canada Post. This happens for almost 1 wk. I finally call Canada Post and discover that my name IS on the package but the address incorrect, in a city which I have no family or business. I logged in to my account and all the shipping information is correct. How did they put the wrong address??? This has been a horrible experience. I can not change the shipping address and now have to wait for Cross Boarder Picks up contact CP to give them the correct address. This process started October 8th, its now October 22nd, and I still don't have my tiny package. Getting a hold of CBPU has been painful. I would never recommend this company. read more
